Community rallies to help couple before special wedding

New tonight a historic restaurant in Ormond Beach is suddenly closed leaving one bride scrambling to find a new wedding venue. Yeah the Rose Villa shut its doors last Friday after what the building's owner calls a sudden and undisclosed decision by the restaurant's operator. But it's Fox 35's Alexis Clevenger explains the wedding will go on. The doors are locked to a long-standing business here in Ormond Beach and for one couple who says I do in less than a month For Melissa Ledoux the Rose Villa already felt like home. We had eaten there a few times while we were dating we've taken family there for special events and things like that so we already knew the venue we were pretty familiar with it. So when Melissa and her fiance Jared started planning their September 26th wedding the choice seemed easy. The food was amazing the service was great the staff were so friendly and it just felt like home sometimes you know it felt like They put down a $500 deposit to reserve two rooms and worked out a dinner menu they could afford but then the communication stopped. But we were waiting for an email back because we were planning a visit there to kind of do table arrangements and measurements and things like that to finalize everything and we hadn't heard back in like a week or so. And then came the news she never expected. What do you mean it's closed? And then the panic set in. In a statement the owner of the building along with the trademark restoration and decor said the closure came as a result of a sudden undisclosed decision by the proprietor who controls the restaurant's operations under a lease with his company. Melissa says since this closure the community has stepped in to help her. So many people have just reached out and it has been overwhelmingly positive so I mean that's one good thing that has come from all this. And today they were able to secure another venue for their special day. Now I did reach out to the restaurant's operator Red Fusion LLC for a comment about the closure but we have not heard back just yet. In Ormond Beach, Alexis Clevenger, Fox 35 News.
