AI GeneratedReal-life mother and daughter Denise Gossett and Riley Beeson discuss their experience starring together in the series \"Sugar Creek Amish Mysteries.\" They share insights into their unique professional bond, the process of filming in Ohio, and how they manage acting careers while living in Central Florida.
We're going to love this next story.
A mother and daughter from Lake Mary
are trading the sunshine for Amish country.
They've been doing this for a couple of years now.
Denise Gossett and Riley Beeson play a mother
and daughter on the TV series Sugar Creek Amish Mysteries.
Now, in this series, the two help
to solve mysteries around their Amish community,
and then they welcome a newcomer to town.
But they are actually a mother and daughter in real life.
They have a very unique bond.
And you might actually recognize Denise because she's actually
been with us on Good Day Orlando many times over the years.
And joining us this morning here on the set,
Denise Gossett and Riley Beeson.
Ladies, thank you for being here.
Thank you for having us.
First of all, great to have you back.
This is so exciting.
No, it's so good to see you.
We've known each other for a very long time.
I've watched Riley grow up from the time she was just like this high.
And so this is really special to be able
to see the two of you work together.
Denise, how did this come about?
Well, our L.A. agent got us the audition
for Sugar Creek Amish Mysteries.
And at the time, it was a movie.
So it's based on a 32-book series.
And they originally thought we were going to do it all as movies.
So books one and two were the movie.
We auditioned, and we thought, eh, you know, whatever.
You know, you just kind of let things go because you never know.
And then when we got notice that we both booked it
and we were going to Ohio,
Sugar Creek, Ohio, we were like I remember jumping up
and down and then uh so we filmed that and
it was phenomenal but we didn't know it was going to go anywhere else
and then the next year it was
like we're making it a series now
and we just finished shooting shooting season two oh my gosh
amazing Riley you're 18 yes you have grown up watching
your mom you know go and shoot tv series
and commercials and act and do all of these things.
As you watched her do those things,
were you that whole time thinking,
I'd really like to do that someday?
Actually, no.
As I grew up, I always kind of looked at her job
and stuff just as her world.
Acting was her thing, and I thought it was super cool,
but I didn't really want to do it.
And then one of the times she went on a set,
I went along with her, and they had a little role for me.
And I was like, this is the coolest thing ever.
I love it so much.
I met so many amazing people and then I started auditioning more
and then just, it's gone amazing.
We got Sugar Creek and it's been awesome.
So what is it like acting with mom? I mean,
you already, I know you guys have a really sweet
and special relationship, but, but what is it like
to work together? It's so great.
It makes everything honestly a lot easier, especially
when we're playing mother daughter role,
because our bond can be seen through the screen.
And then off screen, like she helps me with the lines.
I help her with lines. Like it's nice.
it's we have each other's personal assistants
on set it's a lot of fun i love that i was reading
a story that was written about this and and it said
that the hardest day is always the day you
wrap and go home oh my god why is that so hard i have
a really hard time with it every single time i'm
crying the last day it's rough like it's it's really really bad i cried
the entire day um we'll
go to the wrap party i'm like honey you really really have
to try not to cry you're gonna bring
everyone down but are you crying it's because you love it
so much yes it's because i love it so much
and i love the people so much because
when we film for two months while we're there you spend
time with those people every single day for those two months
and like of course we're working but
when we do like dinners or pickleball you just get
so close with these people that it's just like
leaving family and it's heartbreaking it really is so hard okay
so let's talk about the show
because the show is fantastic
and obviously if when it's getting renewed you know that's a good
sign right so tell us a little bit about what's
the premise of the show okay so it's about a city
woman who moves to Sugar Creek, Ohio which is Amish country
and she helps her aunt run her store
well her and i become fast friends
and we start solving mysteries in the little town of sugar
creek and it's so it's like uh little house on the prairie meets kegney
and lacey or nancy drew
It's kind of like that.
It's very wholesome, very sweet, and a lot of fun.
I love that.
And people at home who have not had
a chance to watch it, can you catch up?
Can you binge and go back and watch
the original episodes and then come back and watch?
Exactly.
So the movie right now is on ACI or Lifted on YouTube,
and you can watch the movie, which acts as our pilot.
And then season one is on Up Faith and Family.
You can stream that.
Okay.
and season two will be on up faith and family coming
which we just wrapped yes and we did find
out there it's possibility that there's
a very good chance there will be a season three oh you
guys that just gave me chills that's so exciting i know
so exciting i know so riley has this sort
of opened your eyes about the world of entertainment
and and your desire to keep doing more after the
show eventually ends oh for sure i love acting
but i really love storytelling i love writing and
acting and just bringing characters to life i believe
that there's so many stories that need
to be told and i would be someone that yeah she wrote
a book we published it what five months ago
yeah which is almost seven she's almost
at six thousand sales oh my gosh that's amazing
it's a beautiful book amazing okay
and they're telling me to wrap it just real quick curious
because people at home will wonder how
do you have successful acting careers and live in central
florida because everything is on tape now everything
so auditions will send you or the
agents will send you the audition
and you tape yourself at home send off the tape and then you
travel so like i've been traveling all over the place
because i've been working consistently
she's barely home but yes so that's how it works now it's great
because i can live here where i
want to live and raise her and yeah well we're
so proud of you and so grateful to have you back
with us on good day orlando let's let's make this more routine
because it's been too long since you
guys have been with us so again the tv show
is called Sugar Creek Amish Mystery all right be
sure to go watch it and support Denise and Riley
and shout out to husband Todd because he's a great
hubby right he's like he holds down the fort
while we're gone for so long and he misses you
girls all right great to see you thank you
so much Riley congratulations we'll be right back
