Who should we ask?
Who can it be?
Show, show.
Marley!
It is an honor to be here.
How are you?
You've been here for just a couple of minutes.
I'm just going to take it right now.
The energy is amazing.
I mean, as soon as you come to the parking lot, it's completely packed.
I came down here.
I said, what is the zip trip all about?
Because you all know we work nights.
And I'll duplicate it.
And it is so good to be here.
It's a takeover.
It is.
Absolutely.
Just like that.
Well, I worked last night.
I woke up and said, no, I got to come.
I got to check out and see you guys here.
So it's just great to be here.
I was just surprised to see so many people.
I mean, just the Fox 5 community.
And this is what it's all about.
Real television.
Fox local.
Just to be here with you all is a privilege.
Well, you're going to stick around with us throughout the morning, right?
Get some coffee and bagels.
And plus, I got to see all my friends here.
So, yeah.
A lot of birthdays.
Birthdays.
His name starts with Tucker and ends with Mark.
All right.
Our turn.
All right.
Looks like a party down there on the main set.
We're in front of one of the new sculptures down here at National Harbor.
We'll get to that in just a minute.
But you saw the birthday celebration there.
One of the things, I just had somebody come up earlier, Tuck, and he showed me an old
picture.
And he was just like, you and Tuck probably been here like 20 years, right?
And I was like, well, technically, it's been a little bit longer than that.
Bottom line is, we have birthdays to celebrate all around, including this guy who's celebrating
a birthday tomorrow.
And we had said that we were not going to do anything for Tucker for his birthday, because
we made a promise.
We didn't want to have expectations.
But because you've been my friend for more than 20 years, I got you a present.
I got you a T-shirt, and I want you to read what the shirt says on it, because I had it
specially made for you.
And I have to do this right, live on the air?
Yes, you do.
Oh, my God.
That's an amazing shirt.
Read what it says.
It says, it's King Tuck's birthday, hug me.
There you go.
I get what he's doing there.
All right, but I do love the shirt, Steve.
And I just want to say very quickly, this is a big day for me, because starting tomorrow,
I can legally drink at the area taverns and the-
Congratulations.
You can use your real ID.
I want you to wear this later, and I want everybody who's down here to give him a nice
big hug for his birthday.
But it's not just me.
Savannah's Candy Kitchen is right up the road.
They've been in National Harbor for 11 years.
They've joined us each and every year on the Zip Trip.
So I want you to meet Savannah from Savannah's Candy Kitchen, who's coming in, and you have
something for Tucker as well, right?
Yes, of course.
Oh, my goodness.
I hope my gift is a little bit better than Steve's.
I hope you enjoy it.
It's a lot better.
That is amazing.
Yes, of course.
So, Savannah, what do we have here?
This is chocolate fudge.
I know that Steve really likes chocolate fudge.
I love it.
Every single time he comes to the harbor, he always comes for it.
So I really hope that he enjoys it, and I hope he likes it from the Savannah Candy Family.
You were so sweet to bring that to me.
Thank you.
Yes, of course.
Thank you.
We're already thinking about you.
He's not allowed to light the candles himself, so we'll work together on that later, okay?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We'll do that.
You and I will take care of that for him.
Where are you guys located?
We're up the street.
You're just right over here.
Yeah, right across from the Wolvers.
Yep.
You can see it.
11 years and going strong.
Thank you for doing this today.
Yeah, no problem.
Happy birthday, Todd.
See, you didn't think they were going to do anything for you.
Yeah, you guys are all so sweet to me, and Steve, I want you to finish that off before
we come back to me in two minutes.
We'll see.
It's your present, but you do it.
All right.
Sure.
We'll send it back to you guys.
We're going to send it back to you guys.
We'll be right back.
Well, but he has a birthday present.
Look at you guys.
Thanks for being here with us, guys.
Doesn't matter.
All right.
Not in time.
Thank you, guys.
Listen, we promised you we'd have more about what's going on here at National Harbor, and
we can never, ever, ever do a Zip Trip here without Debra's help.
Thank you so much for joining us, Debra Thompson, obviously, here at National Harbor.
We've got to ask you, first of all, what's going on behind us here?
We have literally every animal in the world, I think, represented.
I love the sculpture.
We got it from an Australian artist.
It came in April.
It weighs 22,000 pounds.
It comes in two different pieces, and really, it's supposed to be as, you know, it's kind
of Noah's Ark-esque, but there's not two of every animal.
It's really one because you are responsible for taking care of our environment and taking
care of the animals.
Got it.
So a little bit of conservation.
Yeah.
I kind of like that koala bear sitting right there on the end down there.
Definitely.
But, I mean, the details.
It's pretty amazing.
Yeah.
It's really very beautiful.
And that reminds me that National Harbor, every time I come down here, I'm reminded
by the beauty down here.
Something new.
Yes.
Exactly.
So tell me about the summer and what's going on this fall.
Yeah.
So we have a couple new openings.
We have Nan Jiang, a dumplings restaurant.
That opened.
We had Ellie Cafe that, oops, sorry, I think you had earlier today.
And then we also, even though that summer kind of is officially ending right now, some
of our summer festivities are still going.
Movies on the Potomac, which is really popular, Thursdays and Sundays, is still going end
of September.
And then we have fitness still going.
We have live music, entertainment, military concerts.
And then in September, we're also doing a Burger Week.
So you're a big burger fan?
Of course.
I'm not a huge burger fan, but I like chicken.
But we have chicken burgers.
We have a shrimp burger.
So we don't just say beef.
It's all types of burgers for Burger Week.
No, I saw actually one of the restaurants we're going to feature later on has a vegan
burger that's going to be part of that as well.
Yes, exactly.
So we'll talk to them a little bit later.
Definitely.
But one of the things I think is really cool for the people who live here and call it home
year-round, and the people that just want to come spend a couple of hours here, it's
not just the restaurants and everything, but even like the stage area where we are today,
you transform that into so many different things.
And then you have the boats and the wheel as a backdrop.
It's a little getaway right here in Houston.
And then as soon as fall comes, holiday comes, we're starting, we kind of start early.
November 7th is our first tree lighting and fireworks.
So a great place to be on the stage, watch from above, ice is our tree, watch the fireworks.
And then ice at Gaylord is coming the weekend after November 4th, 15th.
Okay.
Last question.
Just a few seconds left here.
We have a special relationship, Fox 5 has a special relationship with National Geographic.
As the night's getting a little longer, I know the wheel can do a lot more.
Can we put Steve's face on the wheel and make it go round and round?
Well, did you see the fight this morning?
I was up.
When I was driving down, I saw it.
Okay.
The face, we'll try.
Maybe it's like an AI image that we can impose into it or something like that.
You won't be embarrassed at all.
My suggestion is if you want people to actually ride it, you won't be.
But we do love the use of technology, so if we could do that, that'd be awesome.
Or maybe a birthday shout out for Tucker today.
Definitely we're going to have to do a happy birthday.
You guys are wonderful.
Tucker, thank you.
Thank you, Steve.
Thank you.
We love having you.
More information right there.
All right.
You just saw the website for National Harbor.
You can check the calendar for all the great events.
Today, though, we're here till 11.
You still have time to come down and say hi.
We'll take pictures with you.
Tucker, I promise he'll give you the hug, whether he wears the shirt or not, but we're
going to do it.
There you see?
It already starts.
Come on in.
The hug line is already here.
I'm going to jump in the back of it.
Here we go.
Thank you so much.
Thank you guys so much.
All right.
We'll send it back to you.
Look at them.
They are so cute.
Oh, my gosh.
Like Melissa just said, they are adorable.
I know.
We are.
You're all going to be joining us here at MGM in the casino right across the street
here at MGM National Harbor.
We're going to be playing some blackjack.
Yes.
Marissa's a newbie.
I've played a few times.
That is my game.
I'm going to make her an expert.
She's going to be excited today.
All right.
Let's go.
You have to teach.
Both of you ladies, both of you ladies, get in and get dirty and let's get some money.
All right.
Let's get some money.
Why don't you give us a quick story on how to play blackjack?
So how blackjack goes is the goal is the closest to 21 without going over.
Got it.
And individually, each player is playing against the dealer.
So you guys are never playing against the dealer.
You're playing against each other.
Yes.
So we're basically, she'll have her own set of cards.
She tries to get as close as she can to 21.
And then you and I play as well.
I have rules that I have to follow.
You guys do what you want to do over here.
Have a good time.
Okay.
All right.
Let's do it.
All right.
Let's go.
All right.
Well, you can play here.
Okay.
Where should I play?
And I'm going to give both of you guys some chips.
Okay.
Hey.
Give me more than Marissa has.
Hey.
Well, you got more than Marissa.
Just sneak a little extra in for me.
There we go.
All right.
Okay.
All right.
So in order to get cards, you have to put money in the betting circle.
All right.
So you take as many as you want.
Okay.
Put as many as you want.
All right.
Okay.
So this is actually the betting circle, but this is a professional.
Oh, this one?
All right.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
So now let's win some money, ladies.
There's your first card.
That's mine.
Why don't you tell the result what a queen is?
So a queen is actually value at 10.
Ah.
All right.
Okay.
The king is actually valued at 10.
All right.
Let's go.
I have a seven, and a seven is valued at just what it is.
A seven.
You now have 19.
19.
Don't you touch that.
Oh, sorry.
I have to copy that.
That's my backup card.
Okay.
Don't copy here.
Okay.
So you're going to have to do three times before.
An ace, maybe an 11, or a one.
But the goal is always to get the ace with a face card.
Yes!
This is not against each other.
That's all it is.
When you come to the casino, you come with a budget, y'all.
And you actually come to have a good time.
You really do.
And when you win, walk away.
But whatever your budget is, that's what you should keep it at.
Gambling is meant to be fun.
You're supposed to come to the casino and have a great time.
Oh, my gosh.
And they certainly have a great time with you, because we already have a great time.
I'll be with you next time when I come.
Please do.
Thanks, Coffee.
No problem.
We'll be right back with more games, more fun.
We're at the National Harbor, and if you have not been yet, what are you waiting for?
There's so many things to check out.
Here are your five must-stops the next time you make your way to the National Harbor in
Prince George's County.
Number five, Flight Deck.
Catch Golden Hour under the Capitol Wheel.
The Flight Deck is the perfect destination to grab a cold drink with your friends and
family.
Take advantage of the standout happy hour deals.
Number four, Tap MGM Commander's Rallies.
Don't miss a single play.
Tap in at Tap Sports Bar to watch all the Commander's Games.
Rally with fellow diehard Commander's fans.
Enjoy your game time food and drink favorites with the Burgundy and Gold family.
Number three, Adventures Unbound.
Take in the scenic views of the waterfront while paddling along the Potomac.
This aquatic adventure is for any age where you can canoe, paddle boat, or kayak.
This stop is a great way to experience the harbor.
Number two, the spa at Gaylord National Harbor.
Relax in this rejuvenating spot.
This experience will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.
Indulge in luxurious amenities including full-body scrubs, facials, and more.
There's plenty of services offered here for yourself or your friends.
Number one, Live K Karaoke.
Live K National Harbor is your stop to make memories.
Karaoke is now an immersive experience for you and your friends.
This stop has plenty of lounges, ocean view suites, and so-called emotional cocktails.
Come here and have a great time performing.
So what we offer here at National Harbor on Saturdays at 10 a.m. is a yoga class for the community.
And what's great about that is it provides an opportunity for people to move wherever levels they're in.
And so we've been really excited and it's been a successful class here on the Saturdays.
So it's an outdoor class out here at National Harbor?
It is. It is over there at the tent.
And what we've done is we've taken what we do inside of One Life Fitness.
So we have over 70 locations right now.
And the yoga is meant to be for all levels.
So if you're beginning, wanting to learn to stretch, or if you're an advanced person that has a practice, you can join us.
And they're doing Hatha today.
Hatha is a more moderate yoga class focusing on the poses themselves and alignment.
But we offer Vinyasa. Vinyasa is more of a continuous flow, move-to-move.
And Yin is a more slow stretch holding the poses.
So we really have a variety of ability for all people that come to class.
Well, today it's kind of a take on hot yoga.
How hot it is out here.
It's a little steamy, isn't it?
But what I also noticed and what I love is that it's meant to be for people of all ages.
We've got the young girl over here.
She's so great.
To people, teenagers behind us and older.
So talk to me a little bit about really the wide range that you guys offer.
Absolutely.
And what's awesome about yoga specifically is that it fits everybody's need.
So if you want to be brand new, trying it out.
Or if you want to, like I said earlier, have a practice, all ages are welcomed.
And we want them to understand our instructors can teach to their level.
So we call it adapting to the needs in front of us.
So then if we see someone maybe struggling or brand new,
we coach a little more so they feel confident and competent when they leave.
I love that.
So your instructors are really getting hands-on.
Yes.
If they feel like maybe they can push you just a little bit or, you know, we'll take it easy.
Correct.
And they read the room that way.
Our yoga instructors usually have a 200-hour practice.
That certification takes a while to get.
So it is in-depth and that's why we're allowed to and able to teach to all levels.
I love that.
So what else do you guys offer at One Life?
I know you guys have a myriad of classes over there.
Absolutely.
So in the yoga space, we call it mind-body.
So there's Pilates, which is, like, number one right now, one big.
Bar classes.
And then we have your typical traditional strength, cardio.
And then when you think of the amenities, pools, hot tubs.
We now have cold plunges, recovery studios that have red light therapy.
So we're trying to think of where we need to go to meet the needs of our communities.
I love that.
So let's go back to the yoga session.
You said it's every Saturday here at National Harbor.
Yes.
Do you have to sign up in advance?
No, ma'am.
Just show up?
I would show up a little early.
Okay.
Bring your mat.
So B-Y-O-M.
Bring your own mat.
Fun.
And, yeah, our instructor here is fantastic.
She's got a great following.
So you'll see that everybody just has, like, this fun community.
I was going to say, it feels like it's a sense of community.
It is.
And National Harbor's done a great job with that.
I love that.
One more time where people can find you what information they may need to know.
Love it.
So if you go to OneLifeFitness.com, if you're not a member with us,
there's a free guest pass.
We want you to come try us out.
We have some new locations opening up.
Jamie right here, our instructor, is at the new Annapolis Club.
That's opening November.
And then we just expanded into Alabama.
So from Alabama, Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, you name it, D.C.,
we want to offer all those communities a free guest pass.
So if you're on the road and you're traveling or something like that,
come join us.
And what's great is our memberships also can transfer from club to club.
So if you're on the road, you can come visit if you're already a OneLife member.
Fantastic.
Well, there you go.
Thank you so much.
What is the saying that you say at the end of class?
Namaste.
Absolutely.
Thank you.
We'll be right back with more from our Zip Trip.
Still plenty of time.
Friday, and we have Maryland.
We have Romero.
We have Cleveland.
We have Ernest.
You know Taylor.
And we're going to meet the rest of the crew here in just a second.
But, Marilyn, I want to start with you first of all.
You had a big event to try to get as many dogs adopted as you could.
You still have a lot of dogs, right?
We do.
We have over 300 animals currently at the facility.
But we had a really big eventful event on August,
and we were able to adopt over 200 animals.
Oh, that's fantastic.
Fantastic.
So, Taylor, I'm going to start with these couple,
and then you can take the ones on the end.
Who do we have here?
Who's this little guy that you have with you here, Marilyn?
Okay, so this is Winky Chula.
She is a four-year-old Chihuahua that came in as a stray,
and she actually only has one eye.
So, yeah.
Good temperament, though?
She does really well?
She is a Chihuahua, but, yeah, she's a good Chihuahua.
If you have a Chihuahua, you know what you're getting at.
Exactly, exactly.
Look at how cute that little face is, which is awesome.
Now, Cleveland is at the opposite end of the spectrum here,
because we go from a tiny little one here to two really big ones, right?
Well, who do we have with Cleveland here?
Okay, so we have Berlin and Frankfurt.
They are ten corsos, both males,
and they were actually found as strays in an apartment complex,
and so I'm just wondering how they were both raised.
In an apartment?
Exactly.
They are in the apartment, right?
Exactly.
Pretty good size.
So, ideally for them, and you want them to stay together, right?
Yes, they are a bonded pair, which means that they have to be adopted out together.
So, ideally for them, you want a lot of space.
Yes, yes.
They're both over 120 pounds.
And, Cleveland, you're getting a workout.
Watch it.
There you go.
He's got himself right now.
Taylor, who do you have over there?
We're going small again.
Who do we have here?
This is De Niro.
It's a Yorkie poodle mix.
Oh, my goodness.
Sweet little guy here.
He is a true sweetheart.
He's a cuddler.
I can already tell.
He's kind of like my dog, Lily.
Yes.
He's a cuddler.
He's a friendly dog.
So, what's his story?
Owner surrendered.
Owner couldn't deal with him.
He's crazy.
But, hey, he just needs a little training.
He's a little sweetheart.
He's about one year old, right?
Yes, ma'am.
Oh, I want to come see you.
All right.
Who do we have here?
This is Oscar.
Oscar is a Purple Terrier.
He's been here at the shelter for a little while, but trying to get him his forever home.
How old is he?
He's about five years old.
Oh.
Yes.
And what kind of homeboy do we think he is?
I would probably say somebody that got energetic.
He has a lot of energy.
Has a backyard, something like that.
Yes.
A very good dog.
All right, Cleveland.
Send it back over to you.
All right, Taylor.
Thanks very much.
Well, listen, last but certainly not least, we can't do a Further Hope Friday segment
without our good friend Seth Price from Price Vedowitz, who makes it happen all the time.
You've seen him on TV, but more importantly, we see the dogs that you are able to sponsor
to bring to us on TV.
Oh, we love it.
This is Scout, my dog, and our firm mascot.
And, you know, we love Fox 5 and these Zip Trips.
And the fact that we're able to get some dogs adopted here is just wonderful.
You know, as a lawyer, we deal with people at their worst times.
And having dogs around brings a little bit of comfort.
And so we love the fact that you guys are out here making sure we get as many dogs adopted
as possible.
Well, Scout's got to love it, too, because he gets to meet some new friends out here
as well and be a part of the element.
And we actually had somebody who just came up to me with their dog and said, we just
had our dog on TV as part of the showcase that you provide, which was great to be able
to meet them in person after seeing them on TV.
Well, it's great.
You know, it's like, you know, when you sign up for something, but when you see people
that are out there in the community.
And let's hope a couple of these guys get adopted today.
Let's do it.
All right, Seth, thank you very much.
We appreciate your support of Fox 5.
Maryland, if folks see something that they love, how do they get in touch with you?
Yes, they can call our facility at 301-780-7200.
They can also go on our website, PennShortestCountyMD.gov slash animal services.
All right, website's on the screen right now.
We're going to take a short break.
Much more from National Harbor coming up.
We're here until 11 o'clock.
Bring your dog if you want.
Come get a hug.
And we'll see you in just a little bit.
First Responder Friday.
Oh, I feel so sad.
It's the last one of the season, but we're celebrating with a wonderful group of women
and men who have come out here in Prince George's County to celebrate with us.
And I want to introduce my esteemed panel here.
I've got a lot of big shots here, and we'll start with the fire department.
Sir, your name?
B.J. Harris.
I'm the chief deputy for the fire and emergency department.
All right, wonderful.
We're going to come back to the fire department.
We've got police.
Assistant Chief George Nichols.
And?
Chief George Nader, Prince George's County Police Department.
And we've got to talk, because apparently I can go in a helicopter, on boats.
Anytime.
Anything for you.
Well, we won't do that on air, but we'll do it behind the scenes.
We'd love to.
Sir, you're with the sheriff's office?
Yes.
Stanford Moore, Chief Assistant Sheriff, Prince George's County Sheriff's Office.
All right.
I don't want to get between anybody, but there's a lot of pressure here.
Oh, by the way, thank you to Duncan, who sponsors this segment.
And if we get all the questions right, we all get Duncan cards at the end.
Okay?
Electronic, but yeah.
But there's pressure.
You didn't say there was a quiz.
Oh, right.
We're going to make this up as we go along.
All right, let's go.
All right, let's start with the police department.
Successful summer.
We've got a big Labor Day weekend.
How are things looking from your viewpoint?
Oh, we're doing great.
Successful summer.
Finishing off here with Fox 5 at the National Harbor.
The last zip trip.
What could be better?
So, we're hiring still.
So, anybody interested in a position, we have recruiters right down here at the harbor right now.
Come down.
We can get you started.
Also, we really encourage the community.
We're coming up on a holiday weekend, so we need people to drive safe.
Remember, buckle up.
No distracted driving.
No impaired driving.
And just be courteous of the other cars around you because we don't want anybody to get hurt.
Yeah, you know, I've noticed a lot of scooters and electric scooters and the rest of it.
Is that an issue in Prince George's County, too?
So, it's not an issue for us, but we do need people to be safe, especially our pedestrians.
You have to cross in crosswalks.
Make sure it's well lit.
Try to wear reflective clothing when you can.
So, be cautious as you cross these streets.
All right.
Sheriff's Department, welcome.
I feel like I didn't talk to you last year, but it's great to have you representing here.
How are things looking from your perspective?
So, this is a big holiday weekend for us, and we want to always make sure that we focus in on our seniors in our community and our most vulnerable.
So, again, we're asking everybody to still look out for these scams that are coming through the telephone, through the email, and stuff being mailed out.
So, call and verify.
If it doesn't sound right, check with somebody else.
So, also, our community engagement.
We're out in the community every day of the week making sure that we engage and let people know who we are and what we do.
Your first encounter with law enforcement should not be on a bad sense.
It should be something positive, and that's what we focus on.
Wonderful.
And I want to correct myself.
Sheriff's Office, right?
Correct.
Any special shout-outs to anybody in your office?
Shout-out to, first, our Sheriff John D. B. Carr, who could not be here this morning, and then to our rank-and-file and command staff.
And then we have our newest member to the agency, Nola, our mental health special dog.
She's chilling right now, but she'll be okay.
Well, I mean, you know, she's getting paid to work right now.
Yes, she is.
It's a little hot out here.
It is.
I kind of get it.
All right, over to the Fire Department we go.
We've been having a wonderful summer, but, of course, we've got a holiday in front of us.
So, how are things in your world?
Sure.
So, we have done a great job with recruiting and public safety.
We have a fall class getting ready to start next month.
We'll be recruiting in November for our spring class.
Joinpgfd.com for anybody that's interested with that.
For this weekend, though, we want to just remind folks about we're going to have a good time.
Whether you choose to grill or you're out on the water, we want you to be safe.
Keep your grill at least 10 feet away from your home, 30 feet if you're in an apartment building.
Have a backup plan if it doesn't work out, a hose or an extinguisher.
And if that doesn't work out, you call us.
We'll figure it out for you.
And then water safety.
Never swim alone and always supervise your kids.
We just want to remind you.
So, just a quick question.
I noticed in the Fire Department a lot of the women and men are particularly attractive.
Is that one of the requirements?
No.
We take everyone.
All right.
Just want to make sure.
Yes.
Not that the Police Department is not offering us something.
All right?
Hey, listen, we were going to clean your glasses for you.
Yeah.
All right.
Okay.
All right.
Excellent.
Also, apparently you have to be six feet or taller.
That's why you need to step up for a minute because I feel much better.
Please introduce yourself.
Shawna Waddy, Deputy Chief, Bureau of Administration, and we are hiring, PGPolice.org.
Okay, wonderful.
Well, I want to thank all of you for coming out.
Special effort.
The boat behind me is beautiful.
And you guys and women, of course, do an amazing job day in and day out here in Prince George's County.
So, thank you.
Let's have a great Liberty Weekend and, of course, a great fall season here.
And thank you, Fox 5 and Dunkin' for sponsoring this and coming to Prince George's County.
All right.
We appreciate it.
Sir, how about a latte for you?
Is that okay?
Get away.
Listen, if you're recommending it, I'm sure it's good.
Okay.
Because look at your card.
I know people will get you that.
All right.
That's the latest from here.
I'll toss it over to Annie Mae.
She's got more for you.
All right.
Back to our Zip Trip here at National Harbor.
We are having a jam sesh.
We're having fun here.
Of course, the music is a big part of that.
We got DJ Mr. E joining us once again.
Oh, my gosh.
Tell us how fun Zip Trips are.
We're having fun.
I love Zip Trips.
This is maybe my 10th Zip Trip.
First one this year, but maybe 10 overall.
And it's just an amazing thing, especially this one here at the harbor.
This is the biggest and the largest, and I'm so glad that you guys continue to bring me here.
Oh, my gosh.
Okay.
We have to show the people this right here.
Zoom in on this bad boy.
Tell us about that picture that's on your last song.
That picture right there is from 2013.
Back in the day, I was one of the DJs for DJ Friday.
2013 in studio.
That's the old, old studio.
Okay.
We got to bring back DJ Friday.
Can we do that?
I love that.
DJ Fridays was cool.
One of the producers at that time would bring in a different DJ every Friday, and I was actually the second one.
Oh, my gosh.
There you go.
So he's OG.
He's the original.
We love that.
What do you like so much about being a DJ?
I love making the people move.
I love to see people dance.
I love to see people party, and I love the back and forth thing.
That's a DC thing.
I love to be able to say something and the people say something back, and I just love all of that when we get together and just party, party, party.
Exactly.
It's all about feeling the vibes.
We love it.
But that's not the only thing you do.
You do some other stuff here in the DMV area, right?
Absolutely.
I have a transportation company, Criscara Transportation.
We've got SUVs.
We've got sprinters.
We've got buses.
So for all of your transportation needs, look me up.
So we can do two-in-one, right?
We can get a little ride, and we can get some music.
Absolutely.
I can do your wedding.
I can be your wedding reception DJ and also have one of my drivers provide the transportation for the bride and the groom or even the bridal party.
We've got a two-in-one special.
Obviously, ZipTrips are so much fun because of the music, right?
So how are you going to play us out?
What do you got for us?
Well, you know what?
I got a very special request before I left home this morning.
Ingrid told me that I needed to play September.
That's such a good song.
Hey, Ingrid.
You too.
Oh, because we're now in September.
And the end of our ZipTrips here for the summer.
The last ZipTrip of the year.
Very proud to be the DJ for it.
And it is September.
Let's go, Virgo.
Virgo season.
Thank you so much, DJ Mystery.
We'll let you play us out.
Bodies in the cave.
DJ Mystery.
We're putting on a show for Bobby McKees, which is right up the road.
I want to talk to these guys real quick.
I hate to make the music stop, but we've been doing this as long as we've been coming to ZipTrips out here.
And I think it's like more than 15 years now.
Bobby McKees, right?
Absolutely.
We've been open for about 18 years, and we're doing this six nights a week.
And it's always a great time at Bobby McKees.
This is awesome.
Now you bring this guy on board.
This is year one for you.
How's it going so far?
Oh, it's awesome.
It's a blaze to me.
It's so fun.
What's the best part?
Is it the fact that you get to perform for people or the fact that the people become part of the performance?
I love that it's different every night.
The people come, and they bring what they like.
And every night is completely different.
It's like a different show every time you come.
You know, I like to think of, like, we're in the same boat as the customers.
We have a little stage and a microphone and a piano, but we're all just singing along, having a good time.
And I think that's sort of what makes it special.
We're all in it together.
I was going to say, it's got to feel for you guys like you're part of the crowd, right?
I mean, I know you're working, but it's got to feel like you're part of the party.
Absolutely.
That's what it is.
And when the requests start flowing in, that's our gauge, and we follow the requests.
And that takes us where the show is going to go, and it's always a success.
It really is.
So what do you guys find now in 2026?
What are the top requests that you're getting?
What do you hear the most?
Oh, my gosh.
Pink Pony Club.
We still do a lot of Sweet Caroline and Piano Man.
Those ones are always staples.
Yeah, it's crazy.
And then sometimes, like, old Billy Joel songs.
They're resurgence on TikTok, so, like, Vienna and songs like that.
But Sweet Caroline, Don't Stop Believin'.
They've sort of stayed at the top.
So here's what I'm going to do, because we're going to hear from you a couple times.
We have a few minutes left to chat with you, but I want to hear you play as well.
I have a request that I'm going to give to you.
You can play a little bit of that, and then while you're playing, I'm going to talk to these people
and see if we can get another request from them.
Does that work for you?
So the request is from our planner, Madison.
She wanted to hear Crocodile Rock.
Let's do a little Crocodile Rock.
If you do that, I'll chat with these folks in the meantime.
And we'll listen to them.
We'll come on over here.
Here's the deal.
They take requests.
Do you have any requests?
Any songs that you guys want to hear?
Do you have a request?
Any song you want to hear?
Requests?
Anita Baker.
Any requests?
Awesome.
So, I love that.
Thank you for the request.
I try to get requests from them.
And just like probably when you guys are in the bar on a Friday or Saturday night,
you ask 10 people, you get 10 different artists.
That's true.
But all over the place.
Everything from Doobie Brothers to Prince to Anita Baker to anything you can imagine.
But what I want to do, just so we can wrap this up,
you said probably the most requested song you get is a little Neil Diamond.
I believe so.
Can we do it just so we can have a sing-along with the folks here?
Maybe just hit the chorus and we'll do it.
And we'll wrap things up from here.
And in the meantime, as we do, I want to tell you to come down and celebrate Bobby McKeese.
They're right up the road from where we are here at National Harbor.
Enjoy it.
Give these guys some love for their talent.
And let's all do a sing-along together, guys.
You ready for a little Sweet Caroline?
Here we go.
You guys are amazing.
Check them out at Bobby McKeese.
I always appreciate their joining us for the Zip Trip.
We're going to keep having some fun here.
We'll send it back to you in the meantime.
And we're here until 11.
Come down, say hi, and join the party.
We're joined this morning by the manager of Shandy.
Nanjing.
Yes.
All right.
Tell us about Nanjing for those who have not had a chance to check it out.
To open in one to two weeks.
So Nanjing started off 2006 in Flushing, New York, our first restaurant.
It's been very popular, and people love our soup dumplings as a comfort food.
And we are very honored to win nine consecutive years of Michelin-recommended restaurants.
Wow, congratulations.
So that is how the Nanjing soup dumplings are getting so popular.
So here today I have bringing some of the signature dishes over here today.
So over here we do have some of the new items.
If you guys want to try.
Oh, I can't wait.
We have pieces of Man's Honey Chicken in Nanjing.
I just wanted to make sure I get that correct.
Nanjing.
Yes.
And then we also have our golden, this is our crab fried rice.
Okay.
Sauteed spring bean with garlic.
We have cucumber salad.
It's very refreshing.
It's cold dishes.
And then we have our pan-fried pork bun.
Shanghai stir-fried udon, one of our signature.
This is our signature new item launched for this location's ONI.

Golden Crab Soup Dumplings.
Is this a special family recipe that you're sharing with us?
Yeah.
What inspired this?
Wow.

This one is also exclusive to this location, right?
This crab fried rice.

So how long have you guys been here again?
So we just opened two months so far.
Okay.
Yes.
And we literally just opened our bars as well.
So welcome to try our new drinks over here at this location.
And I see you have a happy hour too.
I will be checking you guys out.
We do have a $6 happy hour every day, daily, from 3 to 6.
Okay.
Yes.
And some of the drinks you have here, I see, I think I see bubble tea.
So we do, we're serving some of the fruit teas over here.
So this is our grapefruit peach green tea.
We have our Thai milk tea.
This is our mojito.
Oh.
Non-alcohol mojito.
So we have our mango lychee.
I think most of the grape green tea.
So it's a little minty.
Oh, that's the minty one?
Yes.
What are some of your other bestsellers?
I know you have your exclusive location ones here.
And then what are some of your other bestsellers?
Definitely our soup dumplings.
We handcraft every soup dumplings at our open kitchen.
So basically everybody can see how we make the soup dumplings.
So that's our signature.
So people definitely come to try.
I highly suggest to try our Lucky Six soup dumplings
because you have samplers of every single flavor.
So you can test out which flavor that you like.
Oh.
And then our signature, Nanshan soup dumplings.
Oh, wow.
I mean, obviously it's good because we're both still crushing it right now
while we're trying to do this interview.
Awesome.
And then do you have social media, et cetera?
Oh, yes.
Yes, we do.
So we have our social media page.
We're on Instagram, Facebook.
We're on TikTok as well.
So just search Nanshan soup dumplings.
I can say congratulations.
Location 15 and 16 opening next week.
Yes, thank you so much.
You guys are everywhere.
Thank you for bringing it to Prince George's County.
Thank you so much.
This is amazing.
We're happy to come into this neighborhood.
Yes.
Yeah.
Oh, my gosh.
Okay, so I got to ask you, what is your favorite dish up here?
My favorite dish is definitely the golden crab soup dumplings.
This is new item, but this is lately become my favorite.
And then our cucumber salad.
It's just so refreshing in the summertime.
Yes.
I'm going for that.
Perfect.
This is great.
Thank you so much, Yvonne.
This is amazing.
Should people make reservations?
Welcome.
So we do take reservation at this location.
So if you're coming to book our parties, we open to book parties too.
And then we also do catering as well.
So call all the restaurants.
We do customized catering as well.

Thank you.
We'll be back after the break, guys.
This is delicious.
Thank you.
Wow.
That cucumber salad is amazing.
Refreshing for this weather that we're in right now, right?
Exactly.
Shibari, what would you like?
What are these options here?
Here's our moth-tailed llama lemonade.
That's what I'll take.
Okay, there you go.
I'll take that.
And then, obviously, we'll do a little beer.
Cheers.
There you go.
This is our new fall cocktail, right?
This is our new fall cocktail with Sailor Gary, made by him.
This is really good.
I'll tell you.
Toast to the zip trip.
Toast to the zip.
Number one Fox Morning tea.
We're doing cocktails.
You guys have a black arousal for us as well.
This one's super popular.

This is our Maryland's best cocktail.
Wow.
That looks good.
It is a hit with all of our guests.
I'm going to show you what it looks like.
That looks amazing.

Oh, there's double fried wings.
Delicious.
There's so many options.
So talk to us a little bit about where you're located.
It's good.
I love it.
It has a little sweetness in here.
It's fresh.
Yeah.
It's awesome.
You're at a natural harbor for a zip trip.
