Shots fired in an Arlington County community two nights
in a row on the same block.
So far, no arrests.
Fox House Bob Barnard has the details
from the Green Valley neighborhood.
Shots were fired on this street two nights in a row.
A man was shot in the leg and wounded Wednesday night.
And then last night, seven cars and two homes were hit.
And as a result, Arlington County police
are now flooding this particular neighborhood.
And right over here, take a look at that.
There are now cameras like this at both ends of the block.
This is South Lowell Street here in Arlington.
We saw police this afternoon looking through
a backpack here at the scene of the shootings,
checking for more evidence of the gunfire.
They installed two neighborhood cameras today,
hoping somebody captured footage from last night or the night before,
hoping to see video of the suspects involved.
We've canvassed the neighborhood ourselves as well.
lots of home security cameras
but haven't found any that documented what's happened here
two nights in a row clearly upsetting the people
who live on this street this is very very traumatic
and very shocking and just i mean two nights
in a row come on now come on now two nights in a row
it was like a pow pow pow you know that it
was loud that was a gunshot yeah anybody knows a
gunshot when they hear one but yeah that was weird
but then they said it was like right here right
here which i live here that's too close
to my door we don't know what happened how why but it's just
a safety concern for the children
and everyone that stays in this area there's plenty of evidence
of the shots being fired up
and down the street bullet holes in car windows other cars with their
tires shot out some of the brick buildings here
also hit you can see a bullet hole in a wooden
door frame. Two nights in a row is wow,
is a wow factor because it's pretty quiet on our street.
You know, we got, you know, some seniors here and we got,
you know, working people here and
little kids or whatever. But, you know,
this is a wow factor actually because this is not the norm
for this street. Honestly, they need
to have police sitting right here on the corners in this
area because it's not right. It's unacceptable.
It's very much unacceptable. Besides those new
temporary cameras in this neighborhood.
Arlington County police say they'll be
stepping up their patrols,
hoping it doesn't become three nights in a row. Back into you.
