Show Us Your Spirit: Riverside's Team Preps for Game

Of course, yeah. Good morning, Steve. We've been highlighting so many different high schools, of course, around the area. Today, we're in Loudoun County, Riverside High, and the entire football team is joining me today, as well as Coach Porter. Why don't you tell us a little bit about how the season's been going so far? The season has been up and down for us, but we've got these next three games. We're looking to make a playoff run, so we're excited about that. How many have you had so far? Games at home? We had seven games so far. I think it was three at home, four away. Yeah, but I think that's right and an important lesson, too. when a season goes up and down you have kind of struggles like that is to drill into these kids right all the important lessons that you do when they're this age yes yes and we're we had a great week of practice so we're we're looking forward to the game tonight okay what are you working on in practice leading up to today everything i'm not gonna give away the secrets not gonna give away the game plan today because we're on tv i can't do it yeah of course um we're talking of course uh about energy wise right that's why we come out here to show your spirit right of each high school uh around the area what does it mean to have uh home games and to have all the energy behind you well i mean it's great here our rampage is they're awesome um everyone supports us here so it's it's been great oh my gosh i love that the rampage that's so cute we love that what are your guys's names what years are you uh i'm a senior i'm tyler i'm also a senior so have you been playing on the team for four years now yes sir yes sir yeah what do you like most about playing football i just enjoy being around my boys it's really fun to play with everybody That's all I'd say. I mean, it's a community to me, you know, playing with these guys. I love nothing more. Yeah, obviously, I talked to him a little bit about, but what are you looking forward to doing tonight to show, of course, the other team that you guys are serious out here and you won the game tonight? I mean, it's a really big game for us. Our season hasn't been going as we wanted to. With the work we put in the offseason, we know we could do a lot better, but tonight's really personal for a lot of us, and we're ready to turn it around. Yeah, tonight I'm really just hoping to see the team really work together and play well together. we got mood back it's his first game back so we're really excited to have him out there um and go get a win i know and of course i talked to him a little bit about energy but that's why we're out here right to show the energy to show the spirit that um your school does have what does it mean to be playing in front of all of your classmates every night i love that opportunity i mean no matter what goes on uh our student section they're loud they're they get out they they cheer for us it's very fun to watch yeah i will say i think i think we owe a little bit to them you know it's awesome having them out there um and cheering us on hearing them in the background it's really motivating all right well thank you guys so much for joining us here today from Riverside High we've got of course more in the next hour we're going to actually hear the band we're going to see a little dancing as well but thank you so much for joining us here the football team and coach Porter as well back to you all right anyway thank you
