Deep Fried Ice Cream Balls - A Frozen Surprise
Sep 3, 2026
Start with firm, round scoops of vanilla ice cream.
They need to be very cold for this recipe.
Crush the cornflakes into small, crunchy pieces.
They will give our ice cream a golden, crispy coating.
Roll each cold scoop through the crushed cornflakes.
Make sure the whole surface is covered well.
Place the coated ice cream balls on a cold tray.
Then freeze them again until they are very firm.
The ice cream needs to stay very cold before frying.
This helps protect the frozen center.
Heat some oil in a deep pot until it is ready for frying.
Carefully place one frozen ice cream ball into the hot oil.
It will start sizzling right away.
Fry the ice cream ball for only about 10 seconds.
The outside should quickly become golden and crunchy.
Remove it quickly and let the extra oil drain away.
Cut it open to reveal the crispy shell and cold, creamy center.
Crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle, and full of surprise.
Fried ice cream is definitely worth trying.
