In this video I traveled all the way from Southern California to Whistler Canada to test some of the most elite mountain bike trails in the world. I met up with HB bikes @hayden_cavanah and my Bro in law Noah @Noahcore1 We unlocked the park together. The goal was to conquer the world’s most famous lines “Dirt Merchant” and “A-line”. Also picked up this brand new 2026 Santa Cruz Bullit, not bad for my first bike. Let me know how you guys like the video and how you think I did for my first time!

A content creator travels to Whistler, Canada, to experience world-famous mountain bike lines. Despite being a novice with a newly purchased Santa Cruz Bullet and facing several setbacks—including a total vehicle failure that forced him to buy a new Mercedes Sprinter—he spends two days tackling everything from flowy jump lines to terrifying technical terrain, eventually achieving his goal of a clean run on a pro line.
Whistler has some of the most insane and famous mountain bike lines in the world.
I want to hit one of the pro lines. The only issue is I'm not a pro.
So I have a few days to figure this out and this is going to be my first
traditional style mountain bike experience.
But first we need to rewind over the last few months.
I've been dabbling in mountain biking more and more.
So I finally decided to buy a real mountain bike. 2026 Santa Cruz bullet,
$7,600, which sounds insane,
but the original owner had over 13,000 into this build.
So honestly, I think I did. All right. Before that,
I had one thing to fix the brakes.
I spent years riding motor style controls and mountain bikes are completely
opposite.
So I swapped them to motor style and stuck with that since my brain already
knows. No, that broke my lever. I'm going to crack that.
The bikes ready Canada next, or at least that was the plan.
Two days before leaving,
I took my sprinter in for a simple oil change and transmission service.
They said, you need a new torque converter. I said, cool, negative $3,000.
Then the torque converter guy basically tells me,
I'm not warrantying it unless we replace the transmission too.
Now we're talking around $15,000. Yeah, it's going to be a no for me, dog.
So cancel Whistler or make a big financial decision.
I went to Mercedes and bought another van meet the new whip 2026 Mercedes
sprinter, 144 high output stone gray. Only problem.
This thing is an empty shell, no bed, no walls, no real van build nothing,
but that's a problem for a future me for now. This trip must go on 6 a.m.
Wake up call.
We had another five hours ahead of us before finally reaching Whistler.
And after everything it took just to get this trip going, I was ready to ride.
Five hours later, we made it. The views out here are literally insane.
Just look how much mountains out here.
We got settled into the campground because tomorrow was a big day.
And since the new band is basically empty right now,
I brought one of my favorite new camping things with me.
The ice co APL 35 is a 35 liter dual zone fridge and freezer.
So each side can completely run at a different temperature.
It's only 32 pounds has Bluetooth control eco mode and gets all the way down to
negative four degrees. So instead of us buying ice and soaking all of our food,
we have an actual fridge and freezer. We can move to wherever we need it,
but enough about food tomorrow. We're hitting Whistler the next morning.
We finally made it to Whistler mountain bike park and dude,
this place is ridiculous jumps everywhere, endless trails.
And somehow this is where I chose to learn. Luckily we had some help.
We met up with another YouTuber named Hayden Hayden was basically our tour guide,
which sounded great until I realized he likes tech. Check this out.
We're going extra undercover today.
Can't let these mountain bikers know I'd be sore on riding.
You feel me finally got a mountain bike helmet. Pretty clean, dude.
All right. Look at this. I forgot my belt. So no hooked it up.
That's pretty mountain bike core, right? Show me your fresh list.
Dude, we're out here styling. Look at that thing. Yeah. Look at that.
The flames new helmet, new bike, no Saron, no throttle for once.
I was completely legal.
And we all know mountain bikers haven't exactly loved the Saron crowd over the
years. So I figured maybe I should stay undercover and blend in.
That lasted about two minutes. Nice to meet you, bro. Thanks for watching my vids.
Be safe. Have fun. My undercover disguise isn't working,
but jokes aside, I came here with a goal. I wanted big jumps,
fast flowy lines, and eventually some of the pro stuff. First though,
I needed to learn how to ride this bike. Dude. It's so beautiful out here.
Look at the mountains. I'm stoking right now. True mountain biking right now.
The full experience. First time riding this bike. First time at Whistler.
Do it get better. All right. What is this trail? This is crank it up.
It's a blue jump line. Say less. So we started simple warmup trails.
And remember this is legitimately my first day on a traditional style mountain
bike. Smart. Probably not fun. Absolutely.
Oh, nasty. That was nasty.
Dude. It's so rough. Holy frick. Good thing I have the e-bike.
Pick up some more speed. Rough as hell.
It feels like pro motocross. Exactly. Oh my gosh.
So we're going to drop into this. The big drop is only like four foot.
Holy whoops section. I'm just following on doing what Christian does.
Oh my gosh. I followed you on that. I mean,
I'm just trying to focus on the trail, even though this is a brand new bike.
It feels pretty sick.
Dude, this thing jumps so good. And honestly,
I got comfortable way faster than I expected.
Once we started hitting the jumps and flow, I was having a blast.
This is exactly what I came here for,
which apparently meant Hayden thought I was ready for something else. Tech.
What? We're going to have to hop on a tech trail. Oh frick.
The one thing I said, I don't want to do. It's got like a 20 foot drop. Huh?
If you're going trail speed and you pull up a little bit, you'll be all right.
Okay. We'll just follow. Follow? Yeah. Okay.
Holy blown.
Bro took us on the wrong trail. Oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh. How did I save that?
Oh shoot. Oh my gosh.
First run of the day. Check. Dude. I was not ready. Rocks, roots,
drops. And I know some of you are watching this going. This is the fun part.
How give me jumps all day. This stuff terrifying.
So this section is pretty good. I mean, it's kind of more of that,
but then once we cross the road again, then we get into the slab section.
It starts to get steep. Oh my gosh.
Bro. What the?
Dude. Not squeezing is messing with my brain. I'm like, Oh good.
His grace. Oh my gosh.
What are you dropping in right here? What the?
Wait, I'm actually scared.
Oh my gosh, dude.
Hell no. You go, dude. I'm scared.
Oh no. I'm committed.
Actually. It wasn't bad.
I just got scared because Noah jumped off the damn thing. Oh my gosh.
What the Frick?
What are you taking me on, bro? What's the actual.
Bro. I'm done with tech after this. I'm dead serious.
I just racked my sack already. I have one nut now. Lance Armstrong.
The fact that people would be ripping through this blows my mind. All right.
Noah, technical difficulties. Holy crap. Noah, bro.
Are you kidding me right now? Do you have an extra wheel?
Is that a 27 five or 29? It's a 29. You have an extra wheel. All right.
Save the day. We'll meet you down at the bottom then.
Yeah.
I don't remember this job.
Oh my gosh.
I like how I'm breakdamping. Like that's a thing on mountain bikes.
Unfortunately I had to stop for a couple of hours to get some work done.
The plan was to meet back up afterward and keep riding. But while I was gone,
Hayden broke his bike. Right there. Oh my gosh, dude.
And the funniest part, second frame this week.
Frozen was like, oh my gosh, dude.
He was out here cracking his frames. All right, here we go. First drop.
What was that?
So we started back on a line, big jumps, fast berms, super flowy,
the kind of riding I came here for.
And now I was starting to finally feel comfortable.
One of my goals today too is to,
I really want to get like steez, like some of these mountain bikers.
I want to learn how they whip.
It's so different from the dirt bike way that I'm just not used to it.
Here we go. Rock drop.
Yeah, dog.
Oh, it's so rough coming into that.
Dude, the chatter makes it so tiring.
Holy frick, dude. I'm still feeling fatigued from day one.
This is a booter. Oh yeah.
Watch out of this rock. It's so slippery. Oh, almost lost it already.
The first run of the day for real.
Then we headed way higher up to freight train.
Dude, the tech on that is so good. Dude, we got to get up there one day.
Just bomb it, dude. The whole thing. Bigger features, more speed.
And there's one important thing I should mention.
I'm going into basically all these trails blind.
So I learned one very important rule. Take a sight lap, learn the trail,
then send it. Seems obvious. Apparently not to me.
Oh, a little kicker right there.
I keep brake tapping. I got to stop doing that. Step on, step off.
Oh.
Oh, holy.
You got to get up and help me up.
Check my hip. It's not fully open, right?
You just got like a road rash. You went right through the street. I know.
I try to use it to like grab myself. Cause I was like, Oh frick.
I'm going over, bro. All right. Onward. Oh my God.
I love it. Yeah. Sight laps are important. Luckily me and the bike were good.
Confidence slightly reduced. And we still had a lot of more riding to do.
We also met up with Ben world famous chef of Whistler. Absolute celebrity.
If you see this dude walking around, get a photo from there.
We just started stacking runs, jumps, flow, more trails.
And unfortunately for me, more tech.
Mad lad. You got to touch him. Touch him Noah.
Nice.
Oh, double black tech. Oh dude. Is this gnarlier than what you took us on?
I have no idea. No one's ridden it. We're doing our first lap on it.
All right. Whoa.
That's sick.
Oh, I've seen this. Get off the bridge.
That's the infamous bridge boys. Wait. Yeah, yeah. Now I have,
I immediately recognized where we were. Okay. You got this. Oh yeah.
My favorite. My favorite dude. I love this.
You should be fine on a single crown,
but you might need to lock and though a little bit.
I bet.
All right. I have to get through some tech before we get through, you know,
I feel like I can get through this a lot faster on my dirt bikes than this.
Cause I'm just not used to.
Yeah, this is pretty tech.
Whoa, dude. Why do I keep doing that?
What's lost my hand on the bar. My fingers are so done after this run.
I'm done for the day.
I know I needed to get better at it, but seriously, how is this fun to you guys?
I look down the trails and I see rock root holes, bigger rocks,
and the mountain bikers look at that and go, that looks sick.
You guys are built completely different. Oh yeah. Insomnia. We made it.
How big are the jumps? 40? A-line. Okay. Bet. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's true. Yeah. Hi, come on. Come on now. Jarvis, activate dismal mode.
Activate abysmal mode. Just like imagine Jarvis on the face.
I love it. Every time I'm going to start.
The lingo is unmatched. Yeah. You're just making poetry.
You're going to be a scribe.
Ready? Let's get it boys. Let's get it. Sick.
That was sick.
This is fun. This is abysmal. We don't want abysmal, do we?
This is double black tech. This is everything we hate.
So which abysmal are we taking? This is not abysmal. This is completely abysmal.
Okay. Hey, chef knows. Do I want to hit this? Yes or no?
Let's do it.
I got to leave a big distance because the dust is so bad and I have to see
like where I'm going.
By this point I was cooked. My fingers felt like they were going to fall off.
My arms were smoked, bruised, beaten up,
but there was still one reason I came all the way here.
Those two lines and we were running out of time. Are you ready for dirt merchant?
Let's go. Let's go. I'm trying to hit a clean run. Clean run. That's my goal.
Clean run.
Okay.
I feel like I hit a pretty good whip on that step up. One of them. Dude,
you know what? If you're not even going to rate above a seven,
don't even comment right now.
Oh my gosh. I finally made it. I finally made it.
I've been trying to hit that thing all day. Clean. Let's freaking go boys.
Coming into this trip. I have never owned a traditional style mountain bike.
I bought one off Facebook marketplace and decided Whistler was going to be the
place I learned. Two days later, I'm exhausted, beat up,
definitely learned a few lessons the hard way, but dude, I get it now.
I had so much fun. My van died. I bought another one. We drove to Canada.
I try to go undercover as a mountain biker, get exposed in two minutes,
crash get absolutely humbled by tech and somehow I'm leaving here wanting to do
more of this. So if you guys want to see me keep diving into the mountain bike
world, let me know where I should ride next. And most importantly,
always take a sight lap before going full send or you'll end up like me.
I will see you guys in my next video. Peace.
