Woonhuis Heenvliet is a thoughtful renovation and extension that transforms a compact historic residence into a spacious 280-square-meter family home while preserving its original identity. Designed by Studio Brandvries, the project reuses the footprint of a former barn to create new living spaces, balancing a restrained street-facing facade with a bright, open garden side. Through warm timber materials, a dramatic double-height interior, and carefully framed views toward the surrounding landscape and the ruins of Kasteel Ravesteyn, the house demonstrates how contemporary architecture can expand a home without sacrificing its character or connection to its history.
