Iran's parliament has begun discussing the possibility of annexing UAE territory amid the ongoing fighting in the region.

Iranian MP Hossein Ali Haji-Delijani has made territorial claims against the United Arab Emirates amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

"The United Arab Emirates must provide Iran with its territory as compensation for the damage caused. The recent agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey demonstrates the failure of American strategy in the region. The United Arab Emirates, which spent $9 trillion in oil revenues buying security from the United States, now faces a new reality," Haji-Delijani said.

He also added that the UAE must compensate Iran for the damage caused, not even ruling out the Emirates transferring its entire territory to Iranian control for a long period.

As previously reported, Iranian MP Ibrahim Rezaei issued a stern warning to Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE over the deployment of American troops on their soil. He also warned the Arab monarchies of the potential consequences and urged them not to expect a retaliatory response.

Media previously reported that the UAE's decision to suspend trade relations with Iran could have a serious impact on Tehran's economy , experts believe. Iran is already experiencing the effects of US sanctions and is in dire economic straits, and the new restrictions Donald Trump has mentioned could increase pressure on the country and force it to comply with Washington's terms. The UAE's announcement to cut trade ties with Iran has sparked debate among experts about the potential consequences for the Iranian economy. Tehran is already under a US blockade and is experiencing a severe crisis, which, as US President Donald Trump has promised, will soon worsen due to new sanctions aimed at forcing Iran to accept Washington's terms for ending the war.

Abu Dhabi's decision came hours after Trump's phone call with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, but it is unclear whether the US administration was directly involved in the move.

The UAE, like other Gulf states, has been the target of multiple missile and drone attacks during the war, including during the standoff between the US and Iran following the first ceasefire in April. Abu Dhabi, however, has traditionally taken a tougher stance toward Tehran, although it too has feared a further escalation of the conflict.

Over the past two weeks, Emirati authorities have reported at least four Iranian attacks on Emirati oil tankers attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz in defiance of Tehran's restrictions. Meanwhile, the UAE itself hasn't issued any air raid alerts for about a month and a half. For the first time in this period, new launches were recorded: according to Abu Dhabi, two Iranian missiles were heading for naval targets but fell into the waters of the Persian Gulf.

The attack occurred amid a virtual impasse in negotiations between Iran and the United States. Tehran officials had previously warned of a possible escalation of tensions if Washington did not lift the blockade. However, following the incident, Iranian authorities quickly denied any involvement, claiming they had not launched missiles toward the UAE.
