🌿 Escape the summer heat in Kibune, Kyoto, one of Japan’s most refreshing summer destinations.

On this summer day trip from Osaka, I enjoyed traditional kawadoko river dining with grilled ayu, relaxed beside the cool Kibune River, and explored the three shrines of Kifune Shrine.

In the evening, I rode the Eizan Railway and watched the fresh green maple trees illuminated along the famous Maple Tree Tunnel.

Surrounded by lush forests, clear mountain streams, and the peaceful atmosphere of northern Kyoto, Kibune is a beautiful place to experience summer in Japan.
