The Disrespect if getting OUT OF HAND...

The disrespect is getting out of hand as the Miami Heat are again being overlooked going into the NBA regular season. I know it is still only August 15th and we have a ways until the season actually does begin but I'm going to break down the NBA cup pools and how the Miami Heat have found themselves in a gauntlet of hell to say the absolute least now that the offseason has really made its way through and all the big acquisitions have been made. We're going to review the pool play and where Miami finds themselves amongst really, really good teams in the Eastern Conference as well as where the sportsbook, specifically Hard Rock Sportsbook because we are from South Florida and we are supporting a South Florida team and what the lines are for the overall wins and losses surrounding the Heat, where they expect to be in the sense of championship seedings, Eastern Conference winners and all the other lines surrounding this Miami Heat organization going into this 2026-2027 NBA season. We'll break down all of that on this episode of Heat Digest so let's not waste any time and get right to it breaking down the news, shout out to video four that I'm recording here, but let's run through a few things. The first one being the NBA championship odds where Miami finds themselves, I believe it was 11th in the entirety of the league and some of the names and teams above the Miami Heat are a bit questionable in my opinion. Now I'm not going to sit here and say the OKC Thunder, the Sixers, the Spurs, even the Knicks should not be ahead of the Miami Heat because obviously the New York Knicks just won it last year. They are basically running it back just without Mitchell Robinson and Andre Drummond instead. So they're eerie similar to what we witnessed last year. Again, it is very hard to go back to back in any professional sport but if you bring back the same exact team despite the rest of the league getting better you still have a leg up with chemistry and the experience of playing alongside the same guys in consecutive years where not to mention you did win an NBA championship. But then teams like the Sixers, we all know that starting five is ridiculous, but after that starting five and then the six man off the bench being Anthony Simons, what level of talent are they actually going to rely on? That's a huge question mark for me surrounding the Sixers. The Spurs are going to be good for the next 15 years. We don't even have to have that conversation. But there's some other teams like the Raptors. Is Kawhi Leonard actually going to be playing basketball in Toronto? I don't really know and if he's not there's no way they should have plus a thousand better odds compared to the Miami Heat, the Denver Nuggets, the Detroit Pistons. They struck out on every single big name acquisition this year despite having Cade Cunningham. They lost Jalen Duren. They didn't bring in anyone else that is really going to be hard-hitting and that's going to substantially push the needle for that organization to put in Pairnext as a running mate for Cade Cunningham. So what exactly and why exactly are they sitting that much farther ahead of a Miami Heat team that went out and got one of the best players in the world in Giannis Antetokounmpo? And that is where we're going to get to my next point and this one is absolutely insanity to me. Why? So the over under on total wins for this Miami Heat team as currently constructed is 46 and a half and not to mention over 46 and a half is plus 105 which means your $100 wager would pay 105 in return so a total payout of $205. Okay that is insane and why it if you're not into gambling let me explain. To get plus money odds on an over 46 and a half line for this Miami Heat team seems like someone is going to lose their job at Hard Rock. Last year the over under for the Miami Heat was set at 39 and a half and then it moved to 40 and a half. I know this because we talked about it on this channel multiple times going into the NBA regular season because I thought they were crazy and I told you guys take the over, take the over. Now I didn't really expect Tyler Hero not to play in what he played 20 games all year. I didn't expect that to happen but I expected Norman Powell and Bam Adebayo to be legitimate pieces to this team and be able to be better than a lot of teams expected. They won 43 games last year. This offseason they acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo, Tim Hardaway Jr., De'Veon Mitchell has done nothing but get better every single day this offseason and we know that because he's posted every single video of workout, weight sessions and pickup games, training sessions, whatever it may be with or without a basketball if he is working on himself or his game we get to see it on social media. Once again thank you De'Veon Mitchell we appreciate we really do appreciate it. But that team last year without Giannis, with Bam missing some games, with Tyler Hero missing the majority of the season, with Norman Powell the focal point of the offense missing some games. They won 43 basketball games not to mention the last two weeks of the season the defense that they prided themselves on all year long got up left town and never considered coming back and they still were able to manage 43 wins. Now they're going back into this NBA regular season with the acquisition of Tim Hardaway Jr., bringing back Fontecchio, bringing in Giannis Antetokounmpo, bringing in Bobby Portis while maintaining pretty good scoring with De'Veon, Andrew Wiggins, Bam Adebayo, again Hardaway, Fontecchio and various others. Yeah there is some room for rookies and undrafted guys like Trey Donaldson and Ryan Conwell to be a lot better than people and executives and analysts really expect because of their youth and lack of playing time and experience outside of the NBA summer league and pickup games in the summer where they're just trying to get better and get ready for the NBA league which makes a lot of sense but the defense got better than it was last year. Wiggins, Adebayo, Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis like how are you going to score on them? De'Veon Mitchell at the point guard? That starting five alone is going to be the best defensive starting five in the association. It's not going to be close and then you bring off guys off the bench and you have you still have Jovic, you still have guys like Ryan Conwell, you have guys like Fontecchio who I know none of the three names I just mentioned are considered elite defenders but there is room for them to grow and playing off of guys like Bam, Bobby Portis and Giannis like they're going to look better defensively because of their ability to run their primary their opponent into those big names that are so great defensively. I really truly don't believe that it's actually going to stay at 43 or excuse me 46 and a half. You're telling me the my this Miami Heat team as currently constructed is only considered three games better than what we saw last season or four games better than what we witnessed last season from this Miami Heat organization. Let's just take into account that Giannis Antetokounmpo is now a member of this Miami Heat team and he is now playing with Bam Adebayo, Mr. number 83 and also I think the biggest piece of this Eric Spolster is still the head coach okay this guy is a wizard it doesn't matter if you give him five guys from the YMCA and one NBA all-star he's going to make it work the lineups are going to change every night he's going to do exactly what he has to do in order to get the job done and put this team in the best position to win every single night that they step out on a basketball court and until he leaves I'm gonna have as much faith in this Miami Heat organization as I can possibly have now a few other things we're going to mention uh before we get to this let's wrap up the odds really quick southeast division winner I will say the Miami Heat are plus 175 but still the odds on favorites to win that division I believe that is 100 accurate I will say as I get text messages here about today's baseball games excuse me let me put on do not disturb um the Hawks being at plus 225 as well as the Magic being at plus 250 is very very interesting if you could bet a wager on the positions I think that would be a much favorable idea because I think outside of the number one seed being and going to the Miami Heat two through four is going to be an absolute ---- show I truly do believe that it's going to be a lot of fun because the east got better this offseason and including the southeast division so last thing really quick for odds eastern conference winner again Miami finding themselves below teams like the Pistons the Raptors the Celtics and even the Cavaliers and I listen I'm not saying go put the mortgage on them to win the eastern conference but I wouldn't be surprised if they were involved in that game and to be the two four six seven best team in the sense of odds to win the conference if the idea is that they're definitely going to be in the eastern conference championship and have a legitimate shot to go out there and win a series against any team they find against plus a thousand is crazy to say the absolute least so to conclude this video we're going to quickly talk about the east group B conversation for the NBA cup and the pool the Miami find themselves in which again is group B and this is this is this is stuff of nightmares Knicks Cavs Sixers Heat Pacers that is an infinity gauntlet no I I don't watch the superhero movies but I know that's like the hand thing where Thanos is like boom he snaps his fingers or something everyone dies that's what this is okay this is crazy you got the the the coming the guys the team coming off an NBA championship the New York Knicks you got the Cavs who are well built they're not great they did lose hard and hasn't returned yet so there's question marks there but they still have still have Donovan Mitchell who's a great player and it seems like they're going to be at least decent a definitely above 500 team in the east you have 76ers you have the best starting five in all of basketball with LeBron, VJ, Embiid, Jalen Brown, Maxie like it's just not even fair if we're being honest but it is what it is LeBron will catch that 30 this season he will it will happen and Bam will see all about it and then you have the Miami who I have a lot of faith in because of for good reason not just out of bias and then you have the Indiana Pacers who seem like are going to be legitimate championship contenders this year especially in the Eastern Conference that is riddled with talent yes but Tyrese Halliburton is coming back they have Zubac who has been really overlooked in Indiana as well as a great option and collection of role players and complimentary guys that are really going to make good in Indiana so this is an absolute shitshow and overall the disrespect is insane because I was looking for odds on these east or just the pools in general for the NBA Cup but they have not come out yet when they do we will talk about it but Miami is going to be like the fourth or fifth seed in that like they no joke you had the Cavs the Knicks and the Sixers all above them an Eastern Conference winner and NBA championship winner and the Indiana Pacers were the only team and I think they're being overlooked just like Miami let me know down below your thoughts and opinions on all of the odds that we broke down where do you think Miami sits in this conversation do you agree with me that they are being widely disrespected or do you think they're priced just right let me know down below your thoughts and opinions and I'll see you on the next episode of IndyDigest
