'Armed and dangerous' suspect sought after shooting

Dangerous and on the run tonight, a manhunt is underway for Leroy Parks, the third. Thanks for joining us here at eight. I'm Hannah Mackenzie. Deputies say that man right there shot a man in Fort McCrory this morning and stole two separate vehicles to get away. Fox 35 Chancellor Wynn has the latest on the search. The Marion County Sheriff's Office says the alleged shooter is armed and dangerous, warning people not to approach the man. Just simply call 911. I want you to take a look behind me because you can see this active search efforts taking place. We are right off of County Road 315 in Fort McCoy. You can see multiple law enforcement agencies. They're using a drone to search through the woods in this area because the Marion County Sheriff's Office says they believe this is where the alleged shooter went. The alleged shooter is 49-year-old Leroy Parks, the third. Investigators say he allegedly shot a person about 30 miles south of this location in Oklahoma. Investigators say immediately after the gunfire, Parks took off and allegedly stole two cars during his getaway. Right now, investigators believe he was last seen driving a 2016 white Nissan Titan pickup truck. You can see that truck right here. It has the chrome mirror caps and appears to have chrome door handles as well. Now again, here in Fort McCoy, you can see just how many law enforcement officers are searching for Parks. Again, they have the drone up. They're searching from above, trying to look through some of these denser wooded areas. Again, if you do see him, do not approach him. As the deputies say, he is armed and dangerous, and they simply want you to call 911. Reporting in Fort McCoy, Chancellor Nguyen, Fox 35 News.
