A cruise missile attack struck the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, wounding 34 people, including three children aged 6, 13 and 15, according to Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv regional military administration. According to Associated Press interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi said rescue operations were continuing, with people believed to still be under rubble. Vyhivskyi said a police officer and a rescuer were among those injured, and that floors between stories of a residential building had collapsed, requiring high-rise equipment to evacuate residents. Thirty-nine people have been rescued so far.
Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi, in earlier comments to reporters before injury figures were updated, 23 people had received medical help and 21 houses had been damaged. "At 4.05 am a missile attack on Lviv, Patona street 25, the house is ruined, the operation to rescue people is underway. The same at Vyhovskoho street, where there was a direct hit of a missile into the house. As of now, 23 people have received medical help, 13 of them are in the hospital. One person is in critical condition, two people are unaccounted for. The search operation continues. We pray that everything will be fine. If we look at the scale of this disaster, 21 houses have been damaged." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at least 10 Ukrainian regions were attacked, with dozens of homes, businesses and infrastructure facilities destroyed or damaged. Russia launched more than 70 missiles, a significant number of them ballistic, he said, along with more than 280 attack drones, of which over 260 were intercepted.
