Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video provides a tutorial for a self-working card trick where two \"helper cards\" (matching value and color) locate the mate of a spectator's secretly chosen card. The presenter explains the setup, the performance sequence, and the mathematical logic behind the effect, while also announcing winners for a signed deck giveaway.
Hello again everybody.
Today I'm going to show you another easy card trick and tutorial.
At the end of the video I'll be announcing the winners of the signed deck giveaway from
my last video.
Plus there's going to be another signed deck giveaway.
So for this effect what I need you to do is call out any matching mates.
So any two cards that are the same value and the same color.
So you could choose the two red aces.
You could choose the two red nines.
The two black sixes.
Any two cards of the same value and the same color that you'd like.
So let's say you want to choose the two red sevens.
So let's find the two red sevens.
There's one and there is the second red seven.
So those will be your helpers and now we need a card selected.
So that was a free choice.
Now any card you'd like just point to a card.
Let's say you want this card right over here.
Do not look at the card.
We're going to set the card box on top of that card.
So you have no idea what the card is and I have no idea what the card is.
We're now going to take one of the sevens and slide it near the top.
And we're going to take a seven and we're going to slide a seven near the bottom.
So now I'm going to give the cards a couple of cuts.
And now I'm going to deal the cards into two piles.
So you chose the two red sevens to help and you selected a card that was a free choice.
The two red sevens are now the only ones that know what your card is because they're going
to try and locate the mate to your card.
So we can get rid of this pile because the sevens are in this pile.
So once again we're going to deal the cards into two piles and like I said I don't know
what your card is and you don't know what your card is.
But somehow the two red sevens know what your card is because they're narrowing the search
down and one more time this should do it.
The two red sevens have found and trapped one card and the card they found is right
over here and your selected card is right over here.
Let's take a look and see the two red eights.
They found the mates.
This is a pretty cool self-working card trick that's very similar to my final three card
trick and it uses the exact same setup as the photographic memory card trick.
What you want to do is remove the jokers and you need 52 cards and you want to set them
up where you have matching value and matching color.
So there's red queens, red nines, black aces, red threes and go through all 52 cards so
you have two 26 card halves and stack one on top of the other.
Now you're ready to begin.
So the top card will be the mate to the 27th card no matter how many times you cut the
cards.
So I spread the cards out, flip the cards over and now I tell the spectator we need
two helpers.
So you can choose two black sixes and as I'm doing this, this is the clumsy false shuffle.
It looks like I'm mixing the cards up but I'm not disturbing the cyclical order.
So you can tell the spectator they can choose the two red fives, they can use the two black
threes.
Now you ask them to name two cards matching in color and value.
So let's say they say the two red queens.
So you look for the two red queens.
There's one and the other one will be 26 cards away.
There's the other.
You tell them these are going to be your helper cards.
Now you have them select a card.
You can cut the cards again.
Have them select a card by touching whatever card they like and do not let them look at
the card.
As soon as they select this card, you're going to move the bottom half exactly where they
selected the card to the top.
Take a card box and set it on top and do not let the spectator look at that card.
Now you're going to slide the two queens in in the tenth position from the top and the
tenth position from the bottom.
So you're going to count in groups of three and you're going to go three, six, nine and
you're going to slide the first queen in face up right there.
And you don't want the spectator to know you're counting.
So you're just saying as you're pushing off three, six, nine, you're going to slide the
queens in.
One near the top, one near the bottom.
Now I gave the cards a false cut.
So I swing cut, swing cut, holding a break, table, table, table so it doesn't disturb
the order.
And now you're going to deal the cards into two piles pretty quickly so you want to talk
while you're doing that and you tell the spectator that they selected two helpers and they were
the two queens.
They could have selected any helpers they wanted and the important thing is to talk
while you're doing this so they don't get bored and you have no idea their selected
card.
They have no idea their selected card but the two helpers they chose, the queens, somehow
do.
We'll get rid of this pile right over here because the queens are here.
You continue on and say the queens are now going to try and find the mate to your card.
So they're narrowing the search and you continue dealing the cards and taking the pile with
the face up queens and you do it one more time and the queens have trapped one card
and you now reveal that the card that the queens have trapped is the match and you can
turn over both cards at the same time or you can have the spectator turn over their card
and you turn them both over and show that they are also mates.
This usually gets great reactions.
If you do this with the photographic memory card trick then it's really cool because that
trick can be reset and done over and over and over and then you can close with this
where you can show that the cards actually find the cards.
Let me know what you guys think.
