Hello, everyone, and welcome to another episode of CPAC Live.
It's great to be back at the headquarters of the American Conservative Union
after my time on the road on the Trump bus.
And obviously, we're excited about our next CPAC.
We just got out of having our CPAC Pennsylvania right outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
And we're off to Greensboro, North Carolina on Saturday.
And we want you all to join us.
You can go to our website at conservative.org to reserve your tickets.
The enthusiasm and the excitement out there in the country is infectious, and it's great
after you spent so much time in the swamps and you have swamp fever to get out there.
And we also have a big week with the debate coming up on Tuesday.
Will it happen?
Will it not happen?
Will there be a drug test?
Will Mr. Biden be able to hang in there for 90 minutes?
That's all to be determined.
And we'll talk more about that at the end of the show.
But we have a couple of great guests with us today.
And we're starting off with one of the most outstanding conservative voices
in the House of Representatives, someone who has a perfect score
with the American Conservative Union, someone I've known a long time, Congressman Chip Roy.
Congressman, thanks for joining us on CPAC Live.
Matt, it's my pleasure.
Great to be with you, as always.
All right.
So now you're down there campaigning hard in Texas, and you have a very unique opponent.
People will remember her.
Tell us about her.
Well, I drew the short straw or maybe the long straw, depending on how you look at it,
of having the honor of running against Wendy Davis.
People will remember that she took the floor of the Texas Senate,
somewhat famously, to filibuster, not just for abortion, Matt,
but for post-20 week, third trimester abortion, all the way right up to birth.
She's fairly notorious for being a cause celeb for the left.
She was debating running for Congress or working for Planned Parenthood.
We know where she stands.
She doesn't stand with the bulk of the American people that we should be standing up for life,
and particularly protecting those in that last trimester.
And she is a radical leftist who would saddle up with Nancy Pelosi right away.
Her voting record speaks for itself.
But she opposed a ban on sanctuary cities.
She is happy to get alongside the left on the Green New Deal and the ban of fracking.
She's supported by the Brady Organization in taking away guns and so forth.
And she's someone we don't want to see in Washington teaming up with Nancy Pelosi and AOC.
Yeah, that's for sure.
And tell us your feel for what it's like on the ground.
A lot of people are telling us that Texas is purple, that it's turning blue.
We had the Beto phenomenon, who obviously ran for president.
That seemed a bit of a flop to me, but okay.
What is going on in the Lone Star State?
Well, what you're seeing, I think, nationwide, not just Texas, right,
is some shifting of the sands in terms of who we're looking at for core support, right?
You know it.
You see it.
I see it.
In terms of working class Americans who are tired of Washington not looking out for them,
the forgotten men and women who make this country work,
law enforcement officers being left on the sidelines by radical leftists like Pelosi,
who can't even stand alongside our cops who are defending us.
So we're seeing that, and the American people are responding.
But as much as being made about Texas flipping,
look, the people I meet who move to Texas often are moving to Texas seeking refuge
from California or seeking refuge from Oregon or Illinois or New York,
and they want our values.
They promote our values.
They show up to the events that I attend.
Now, that's not to say that there aren't a bunch of folks growing and moving in Austin, Texas,
the big percentage of the district I represent.
So we've got a tough race, and we've got to make sure we show up and win,
and I believe we will win.
But this is all about continuing to resonate and reach out to the voters across the spectrum,
suburban, rural, city dwellers.
And the president, I think, is cutting through the noise in a lot of that.
There's a lot of enthusiasm for him on the ground,
and it's going to be an interesting last 37 or 38 days.
What do you think the impact of his court nominee will be on races across the country?
Not that we should think about the Supreme Court in terms of campaigns and elections,
but with what the left has done with the court, it is a top political issue.
Well, there's no question.
What we're seeing, of course, is a vitriolic assault on a wonderful woman, Amy Coney Barrett,
someone that is the model of what you want to see in terms of a working mom
who balances the interest of being a mom while moving up a professional ladder.
She's a strong jurist.
We've got to look at her record, as we always do.
But this is somebody who's clearly qualified to be a great justice on the United States Supreme
Court, having clerked for Scalia.
And I look forward to her swift confirmation.
And on the ground, people are enthusiastic about that.
And look, I think when all push comes to shove, this is simple, Matt.
When there's a vacancy, the president nominates, the Senate confirms or rejects.
That's it.
There's nothing more or less to it.
And it's happened 29 times in the past where the president has had a nomination
in their fourth year of their term and nominated somebody every single time.
This president's doing nothing out of the ordinary.
What does Nancy Pelosi do?
Screams impeachment.
What does the radical left do?
Mocks her for being a mom or mocking her for having two adopted kids from Haiti.
I actually had one of Winnie Davis's former employees
went online and mocked her for these adoptions from Haiti and wanted to question it.
And I think that's offensive.
And I think that the American people are going to see it for what it is.
The Constitution explicitly says there should be no religious test to serve in our government.
We obviously know it is illegal to have an established church denomination.
That's in our founding document.
But people forget that one of the most important lessons about our founding and about the creation
of our country was this idea that you could have diverse people from different faith persuasions
or no faith, and that was not supposed to be a test as to whether or not you could take
a federal job.
Do you think people need to be reminded of that?
Well, I think we saw pretty clearly in the confirmation proceedings the first time that
Judge Barrett went through when Senator Feinstein was suggesting that the dogma lives loudly or
strongly in Judge Barrett.
And, you know, I would say amen, right?
The vast majority of the American people see that as a good thing.
It reflects their values.
It reflects what they believe, who they are.
It reflects that our Creator gave us the blessings of this country and that we are to secure the
blessings of liberty, that our Declaration of Independence and Constitution are obviously
replete with that, and the Declaration in particular recognizing that our rights come
from our Creator.
And when we're talking about the court, we're talking about the preservation of those rights
that we the people recognize that were given to us by our Creator.
So I say to all of that, amen, and I think the American people are going to be with Judge
Barrett, not Senator Feinstein.
When you talk to your colleagues who are in tough races or some of these challengers across
the country, Congressman, are you thinking that the political environment is such that
we're going to make tremendous gains on Nancy Pelosi's majority and kind of creep close?
Or do you think that's too optimistic?
I've always been a big believer in, I don't get into the handicapping game.
I'm not being critical here, but because there's still so much time, right?
We got three weeks to early voting, five or six weeks to, I guess, four or five weeks
to our voting in November.
And what's really important here is what the President has been able to do over these four
years and reminding the American people of that, about what their lives look like, about
the strength of our country abroad, about our recognition of Israel and Jerusalem as
a capital, and making sure we moved our embassy there.
And now seeing what's happening with UAE and Bahrain, putting Iran in its place, taking
out Soleimani, putting on 200 good judges.
Now we're seeing Judge Barrett, where the economy was before the virus, making our way
through the virus, even though the left would rather having us hide in the corner rather
than fighting through it, like my dad, who's a polio survivor, did in 1949.
The American people want optimism.
They want to believe in their country.
They see a president who loves the United States of America, and they see a Democratic
Party who wants to rip it to shreds.
That's what this election is about.
Do you stand up for America or don't you?
I think the choice is pretty clear.
So in your district, when you look at those Trump accomplishments, these Republican
accomplishments, what resonates the most with people?
What do they care about the most?
Well, I can tell you that right now the things on the ground that people here are telling
me the most about are wanting their streets to be safe, wanting us to stand up right next
to law enforcement proudly and loudly.
And I've been doing that on the floor of the House.
I know the president has been doing that, talking about standing back in the blue.
They care about the economy, who they trust to get our jobs back, move our economy forward.
You know what?
With all that we've got sucker punched with this virus, we're moving through it.
We're starting to see the progress, getting our jobs back.
And you just keep fighting through it like America does.
And then, you know what?
Securing the border of the United States.
Obviously, I'm a proud Texan.
My district stretches to almost about 100 miles from the border.
And you know, and I know that that border remains yet to be fully secured.
But the president is now taking steps that the left wants to fight.
And the American people want a secure border.
These are simple things for a sovereign nation.
Strong economy, a secure border, stand with your police, stand strong in the world.
And that's what I hear about from people here at home.
Do you think that the other states that have changed their voting laws,
I don't believe they've done that in Texas, but maybe Austin has done some peculiar things.
Wouldn't surprise me, by the way.
Do you think that's an issue?
I mean, something I hear a lot about on the road, like,
what is the Republican Party doing to counter what is really
obnoxious changes right on top of an election in some of these states?
Well, there's no question that the left is trying to do everything they can to throw
litigation, throw all sorts of games at the electoral process.
And that's really unfortunate, because they're the ones that are undermining
what's going to happen on November 3rd.
They're the ones calling it into question.
Even here in Texas, where the governor and the leadership of this state,
including the Attorney General, for whom I used to work,
have been making sure they stand up to say, look, we're not going to do a mail-in ballot regime.
We're going to continue to allow you to seek absentee ballots.
Go early.
The governor bumped up early voting.
We're going to have three weeks of early voting.
There's plenty of time to get in and vote.
And we're making sure that that message gets loud and clear.
And you know what?
Some on the left, I'll even say here, have acknowledged, you know what?
Let's just go in and vote early.
I think that's our message here in Texas.
Get in there and vote early.
Now, some states have gone down different approaches.
And I think we're going to start to see some federal judges are making some decision factors
or ruling, I think just this morning or Friday, saying, hey, you're not going to be able to have
these ballots come in afterwards, because there's a fundamental responsibility to get
the voting done early.
And one last point, here in Texas, a federal judge just tried to strike down or say that
we can't have our ban that we passed in the legislature on straight-ticket voting,
because Democrats challenged it.
I think that just got appealed by the attorney general to the Fifth Circuit, because, of
course, you should be able to say the legislature set the rules and you should go in and vote
for each election all the way down.
So they're trying to play games, trying to knock Green Party candidates off.
We're focused on just doing our job, hold an election, you know, do the thing we're
supposed to do to give people confidence in our country and our electoral process.
They don't want that.
After spending 36 days in the Florida recount, I can tell you that determining questionable
ballots is a highly subjective exercise.
So, yeah, exactly.
Remember that guy?
Having a postmark was always important for military ballots, that they have a postmark.
Having an ID, I can't get into any building in Washington, D.C., without my driver's
license or a photo ID.
A signature match, you know, I certainly can't sign my taxes or anything else without someone
checking my signature to make sure that a common sense match is done on that signature.
So these are very troubling new changes.
And what's ironic is you have these left-wing jurisdictions changing the rules at the same
time Pelosi, through H.R. 1, I believe, wants to really nationalize all these rules.
You know, it is a terrible time for the 10th Amendment in our country.
Well, there's no question that Speaker Pelosi wants to try to control everything in Washington.
You know, of late, I've seen stories about how much, because of climate change, they're
going to be trying to tell us what we can do with our cars, how you can get to and from
work and school and home, make your energy prices go up, ban fracking.
They want to stick themselves into virtually every aspect of your life.
And I think that is anti-American.
I think that is the opposite of what made this country great.
I think our country is built on the back of individual achievement, but also the strength
of our community.
The strength of our community is protected by federalism and that great structure, the
republic that we have that the founders gave us, so we can agree to disagree.
I don't want to tell Californians what to do, but I sure as hell don't want to be told
what to be done by Californians.
So, you know, I think that's the strength of our system.
We've got to get back to reminding the American people that it's in our DNA.
They know it.
They don't want to be told what to do either.
Yeah, you know, California, I think we can both agree, is not our role model.
They want to make cars illegal and they want to make sex with 13 and 14 and 15-year-olds
legal.
I don't know what is wrong out there, but it's a tragedy.
We need to make sure it doesn't spread across the country.
Chip Roy, we appreciate everything you're doing out there.
How can folks help you down in Texas in your reelection?
Well, Matt, I appreciate it.
Thanks for what y'all do.
You know what?
Right now it's pray, first and most importantly of all, pray.
Secondly, it's, you know, you want to throw a few bucks my way at chiproy.com.
I'd certainly take it, chiproy.com.
But, you know, send people down, make phone calls, you know, knock doors.
Let's just make sure that we tell every one of our friends and people out there how important
this election is.
Go to your church groups, go to your local clubs and groups, your family and your friends
on Facebook and everywhere else.
Remind them of the importance.
Remind them that what's at stake is very simply,
do you stand up for America or do you want to tear America down?
We know what we want.
We know what the president wants to do.
I know what I'm trying to do.
And so I appreciate all the support.
Chip Roy, thanks for joining us on CPAC Live.
Best of luck to you on the campaign trail.
And I don't have to tell you this, but when you come back to Washington next year, keep
swinging hard, OK?
Amen.
We'll do it.
You too.
All right.
Thank you, sir.
We're going to be right back after these really great comments from Judge Amy Coney Barrett
at her selection in the Rose Garden ceremony.
And then we're going to be back with Majd Ture on the other side.
I fully understand that this is a momentous decision for a president.
And if the Senate does me the honor of confirming me, I pledge to discharge the responsibilities
of this job to the very best of my ability.
I love the United States and I love the United States Constitution.
I am truly.
Welcome back, everybody, to CPAC Live.
And we're now joined by one of our favorites, Majd Ture, the founder of Black Guns Matter.
Majd, what's the latest in Pennsylvania?
The latest in Pennsylvania is, one, Governor Tom Wolf is proven to be unconstitutional
in his government overreach in regards to the masks, which is a great thing.
I think if I'm not mistaken, I think that federal judge was a President Trump appointee,
if I'm not mistaken there.
And people are tired of the overreach.
In regards to hoods across Pennsylvania, and not to make it too political, but, you know,
President Trump just unveiled.
And again, I'm always skeptical until I see the end of it.
But President Trump unveiled a plan of $500 billion going towards urban communities across
America.
And I know people in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Philly, where I'm at right now, are like,
that's perking ears up a whole lot.
So that's something good to see.
It's one thing to say, you know, put out these ads talking about, oh, this is, you know,
my plan is black, my plan is black.
But to not have a comprehensive plan at all, and to be vague, people see that in Pennsylvania,
specifically with the very important state that it is in this upcoming election.
Do you think black people are surprised when people like you say, hey, look, here's what
President Trump and his administration has done, that they've tried to match the policy
with the rhetoric?
He famously said, what do you have to lose, which I think was a great way to describe
it.
But now, actually, black voters have a lot to lose with some of these policy achievements.
Do you agree with that?
Are your neighbors shocked when they're not that political and you tell them what the
facts are?
It's a mixed bag.
I deal with the veggies first, then we'll get to the fruit.
The mixed bag in the veggie world of it is, it's, well, wait a minute.
You know, I'm not too sure.
I have a legitimate concern or natural hesitation in regards to politicians.
And that's fair.
Politicians work for us.
And if you don't do the job properly, your resume could be whatever it is.
So that initial apprehension is absolutely there.
But then when you go over the numbers, depending upon the level of if that person has Trump
derangement syndrome or not, and depending upon the level of it, most people are able
to legitimately go, oh, I didn't know that.
When I tell my homies about the First Step Act and then coming down the pike, the Second
Chance Act.
When I speak about Angela Stanton King getting a presidential pardon from President Trump,
which is in essence a second chance, that those ears perk up.
And am I saying that the black community is by and large, you know, felons?
No.
But we know that there's a lot of democratic policies have been very, very racist in our
communities and unfortunately have led to a lot of incarceration in black communities
across the country.
Joe Biden is Superman in that regard.
You know, the 94 crime bills and all of those other different things.
So when you break it down simply that way, absolutely, that's the fruit of it.
People go, OK, I can get behind that.
When you add into that $500 billion, again, people are skeptical.
They say, well, I'd like to see it happen.
The benefit in that scenario, and I don't care if you I don't care if it was Obama that
did it, Trump, George Bush.
I don't care.
The deeds and the actions and what actually manifests is what we look at.
And when you look at reporters, government overreach in the form of pandemic, you cannot
deny the fact that people in urban America were making a lot more money than previously
before.
Cutting that red tape was a real thing.
So, yes, they're receptive to that tremendously, even with the initial pushback or legitimate
concern.
So now you have all this question about crime that's been breaking out in cities all over
the country.
You had this economic prosperity under Trump, as you said, opportunity zones.
You had this reform with the First Step Act, and you just had a lot of people in the private
economy doing better on their jobs.
Isn't crime like the number one threat to regaining this prosperity after the pandemic?
Absolutely.
The crime is there because Democratic leadership has made it more available.
Now, let me be clear.
I do personally think because I have very strong conservative values, I'm a fan of limited
government.
Limited government means I want police officers to be there to catch robbers.
When it was talking about the police, robbers, rapists and killers like crimes with actual
victims.
However, when you have Democratic leaders, leaders, law enforcement, hey, just don't
respond to these things with crimes with actual victims.
And then on the same token, you tell people, you know, we're not going to issue you licenses
to carry.
We're going to try to make purchasing a firearm a non-essential business.
That is a contradiction.
And I think that government, especially Democrat cities that do that, they're doing a lot of
the heavy lifting for us.
The people in my community are going like, wait, so you're telling me we're letting the
rapists out?
You're locking up the people that's trying to make a living for opening a business.
The data is clear.
You lied to us and told us 15 days is slow to spread.
We're months later, almost a year later, the government and those mistakes are doing the
heavy lifting for us in urban America.
Urban America is going, nah, this don't make sense.
And then a simple comparative analysis, we see that this is a political ploy to make
people dependent on government for their scenario.
And the people in hoods across America, not only are we not behind it, we're actually
completely against it.
And you can come up with whatever cool slogan for Black Lives Matter and try to co-opt real
issues that the black community is impacted by.
But we're not stupid, bro.
Stop hitting us with that low bigotry of low expectations.
We see the contradiction.
We see what's happening.
19 out of the, I think, damn near 20 of those cities that have the most violent crime are
democratically ran.
So it's a simple fix.
Changing those things, giving more power back to the people, and making local, state, and
federal choices in voting needs to be in a different direction.
And I think we're going that way.
I was at a gun store in Cleveland during my time that I just came back from the Trump
bus.
And this big, red, beautiful bus, we pull in front of this gun store, and I start talking
to some of the folks there.
One of the guys came up to me and he said, you know, I don't like those Biden guys because
they just think I'm trash.
I thought it was so sad.
And this was a white guy.
But I think it's sad that people in America feel disrespected by politicians generally.
And of course, I do think these elite liberals look down on almost all of us, that we're
not smart enough to take care of our own affairs.
I asked the guy working behind the glass, because everything has glass these days, and
I said, you know, what's going on in the store?
And he was like, we can't keep inventories just flying off the shelves, especially the
ammunition.
And I said, who are you selling to?
He said, a lot of black people, a lot of black women.
So when crime is taken off in our major cities, a lot of times it's people of color who are
the victims.
The thing is, and a lot of those people used to be, because they believed liberal media,
leftist media, extreme media.
They used to be anti-gun.
There's a story that I tell all the time about these two guys.
They're on an airplane, and the airplane is shaking like it's going.
They think it's going to go down.
They think it's the end.
One guy's an atheist, and one guy's a believer.
And as the plane is shaking, they think it's going to crash and all of this other stuff.
The atheist starts praying with the believer.
And the plane doesn't crash.
In times where you thought it was the end, you go back to what you actually know to be
accurate for self.
Now, saying that to say, all of those millions of beautiful black and brown people and yellow
people and red people and white people and poor working class, hardworking Americans
that are first-time gun buyers, when the government left them and abandoned them, the police have
no lawful obligation to protect you.
None.
Supreme Court precedent.
They went to what they knew was accurate.
I have to do for self.
I have to make sure that we have the means to protect our family and our loved ones.
That's the reality of urban America.
Urban America is more liberty-based and more conservative than liberal media will have
you believe.
And that's exactly what's happening.
Now, it's our job with the work that we're doing at Black Lives Matter to make sure that
when things get back to normal, because there is no new normal.
That is a leftist propaganda term.
New normal is the old normal, which is freedom and liberty, especially in urban America.
When things get back to how they should be and actually further back to how they should
have been a while ago, we have to make sure that we're servicing those new beginners so
that gun doesn't just become a safe bait.
And that guy isn't just not being a spiritual person just because of the emergency.
This is how you're actually supposed to live life consistently.
These are conservative and liberty-minded values that we have to make sure we're there
to service those people, to show them the importance of political decisions, political
elections, the entire political process, the Second Amendment, and all of our human rights
as codified in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
That's our job.
That's the great job that you guys are doing at American Conservative Union.
That's what we've got to continue to push to make sure that we're servicing those new
minds.
This is a war of culture and minds that will lead into the political choice.
Yeah, especially in some elections where you have almost 50% of the people not voting
for president.
I do think all indications are a lot more people will vote, maybe over 60% of the electorate
will vote.
I like the idea of people voting.
I think they should vote legally.
I think they should vote once.
I think they should be properly registered, of course, and unfortunately, we've seen a
lot of bad law changes there.
You know, Maj, taking race out of it, just looking at your country and you see the political
debate that's going on, what's the status of things Trump versus Biden?
Now, I can say this and I'll say this.
This is no reflection on CPAC, Lai, the American Conservative Union.
This is Maj Touré's opinion.
It does not reflect the values of any other organization that you guys may be watching
it on now.
Joe Biden's a weirdo.
Joe Biden is a creep.
It is clear.
Joe Biden had 50 years to get this right in public office.
Joe Biden did not.
Hoods across America.
When I say hood, I mean, if you don't live in a rich neighborhood, you probably live
in a hood, whether that's a trailer park, whether that's a hardworking middle class,
you probably, poor people, black, white, Asian, I don't care.
You probably live in a hood.
You're probably a hardworking person, more than likely.
The general consensus of me traveling around the country is even if people are saying,
I don't know if I can vote for Trump because they're still caught up in that matrix of
leftist propaganda, they generally understand that Biden is a weirdo.
All of those promises and all of that, what we say we're going to do and all of the pandering,
Kamala Harris popping up with Chuck Taylor sneakers or Timberland boots.
I wear Timberlands everywhere.
They were cool before Kamala Harris decided to put them on for a photo op.
This is the type of low level intellectual pander that hoods across America are like,
come on, bro.
Tell me the policy.
Tell me what you got for me.
That's the purpose.
That's the same as Hillary Clinton with hot sauce in your bag.
Stop it.
I don't care what your clothing choices are.
I don't care what condiments you're putting on your food.
It has nothing in it, and it's very bigoted and biased, and that is the calling card
of this administration.
I've yet to see any legitimate conversation.
President Trump, again, I'm still hesitant, but to even present a package of,
we got $500 billion that we're going to target urban America with.
Okay.
We start the conversation.
There's no way to play that, and I never heard of black racists giving away $500 billion to
the hoods that are populated by melanated beings, and that's just what it is.
I think that the hoods are seeing it, and again, I'm not just talking about black people.
Hoods are people that single dads, single moms, even if they're co-parenting,
they may not be married.
They're working hard at jobs that they're trying to make a better way for themselves.
You're insinuating that these people don't know the difference between political choices
and fashion choices, and they are seeing it.
Well, I think the president could get a lot better and a lot more bang for the buck.
We've got to start talking about this cannabis conversation.
That's a conversation that businesses, even legitimate businesses in these states,
on a federal level, technically those businesses are federal criminals, are federal criminals.
Now, whether you smoke or not, I smoke cigars.
I don't smoke weed.
However, we could create more jobs federally.
Imagine all of the new guys that we could send home from that prison industrial complex
that could be hardworking men and women that could create jobs in the community.
Denver and even these leftist states have shown us the way in that regard.
I would challenge our current president and the administration to look into that.
I thought it was going to go that way when Sessions left.
I think that's one area, as well as we've got to look back into repealing some of these
unconstitutional second amendment things that have been put in place by the leftists.
We have to.
We do those two things with this administration.
President Trump will go down as the most impactful president.
And I reserve that for John F. Kennedy.
Currently, I reserve that for John F. Kennedy.
If he does those two things, we may be looking at the greatest president in American history.
It would let so many people home from jail for nonviolent offenses.
It would create jobs, jobs in manufacturing firearms, parts and magazines, these abandoned
factories.
So these are the two things that I challenge this administration to just look into a bit.
And I know poor people around the country that could walk to their job and manufacture
some magazines or manufacture some barrels and things like that.
We had the gold rush.
We can have the polymer rush.
And even the lefties have shown us the cannabis rush and the benefits that have come from
it.
So those are the general areas where I see urban America of all races, poor people,
middle class people of all races, having a bit of a, hey, I want to support, but I
want to look into this a little bit more.
And I think if we do that in this administration and presenting a plan for those, it's a landslide.
It's a landslide.
There's no argument after that.
You know, Amaj, I will take you up on this idea of you and I smoking together at CPAC,
but only cigars, OK?
Only cigars.
I think President Trump hates drugs.
But there is a question of here of federalism, too.
Do you allow states to determine their own laws in these questions?
I think that's something conservatives probably have a big, vigorous debate about, right?
And maybe different states do different things.
I think we're in a part in our history, in our American history, where blue states are
going to look very different from red states.
And for at least a lot of people, not all people, because some people, you know, they're
bound in their job and they don't have a lot of other prospects and they have to live where
they have to live.
But I think what you're going to see in red states is more economic opportunity over time,
probably less libertine values on some of these questions about, you know, culture and
society.
But I do think if blue states become more blue and red states become more red, you know,
Illinois starts to look like Chicago and the state of New York starts to look like New
York City.
And you can see where this goes.
And my guess is a lot of people, including my own family and others, we might move because
of it, because you might see a totally different kind of setup in a red state as opposed to
a blue state.
And I'm always with the will of the people.
I don't smoke any unlawful drugs, not because the government said they're unlawful.
I smoke cigars.
Cigars, if I smoke too many cigars, that leads, that's a pathway to cancer.
That's just the reality.
But I'm making a choice to do that.
When I make a choice to have a sip of bourbon, that's a choice.
And I do those things safe and responsibly.
I think that can be said for all things that Americans decide to do with their body.
I'm fully with that in regards to if the states decide to say, hey, we want you to be safe
and responsible cannabis users, cool.
If you don't want to do that, or if the state says, no, we don't want that, people should
be able, Americans should be able to choose.
And I'm in, I'm in agreeance with that.
I think President Trump actually alluded to that somewhere.
I don't know exactly when, but I remember him kind of alluding to, I think we'll just
leave it up to the states.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
And I'm, I'm, I'm taking a 10 year watch of, okay, this entire state is red.
This entire state is blue.
And let's see what it looks like.
We cannot deny what San Francisco and LA and homeless alone and unemployment.
We cannot deny what that looks like.
It's destruction.
We cannot deny that.
So if you choose, if you want to chop Chaz zone for your entire state, and if that's
what's up with you, cool, baby.
If the people, that's what y'all want there.
But here in the great state of Pennsylvania, baby, we, we, we choose, we choose to have
a little bit more restructure and conservative values and like, Hey, I want to invite you
to my house.
I don't just want you walking in my house.
You know what they, uh, somebody said, somebody said on this tour, which I thought was great.
We believe that people should go worship in churches, not go and burn those churches.
It's just like an opposite viewpoint.
And, uh, you know, Chad Wolf is our great, uh, acting secretary of Homeland Security.
I believe in Chad over chop, uh, you know, and every, and every civilized person would
choose that.
I mean, we all want law and order for our own families and in our own communities.
And when it hits our communities, all this violence, it's amazing how fast people call
911.
That's the hilarious things.
I mean, now me personally, I am my first responder.
I don't outsource my security to any level of government, right?
Unfortunately, I have to defend life ever.
I'll make the police report.
The lawyers will be involved.
So from the, so on, but first I'm going to make sure that I have myself and my family.
And I'm also going to try to avoid and deescalate all of those.
It's an absolute last resort, but same thing.
If you want to chop or a chance, have a house, make the chop in the chest.
You there's ironically, you have like a border in your house and you can make that house
be as socialist as you want.
If you know how to make money and have a house, but how convenient if you don't know how to
make money and have a house that you want everybody else, you know, to be a part of
your foolishness.
And that part, I can't really, I can't really get with, but I do believe in everyone's freedom
to choose for yourself.
You don't get to choose for me.
You know, you're great.
I want you to know in my household, I'm a big believer in democracy, but in my household,
when my children try to tell me we need to vote on a thing, I tell them to pound sand
that we don't vote.
In the Schlapp household, I'm a monarch.
I get to decide.
My wife gets to decide.
Maybe we're co-monarchs, whatever, but that's just, you know, come on, man.
You got to, in the end, someone has to decide what's right for little kids, right?
Right.
And if, and if when you youngins get to 2021, maybe you'll hit the lottery or whatever.
You guys will have a hundred million dollars and you can run, you know, the Schlapp household
2.0 the way that you guys want to, you know, but until then, we're going to have some structure.
It's going to be some living.
We have five girls as your homage.
And what I tell them, I sat them all down a couple of years ago and I said, look, there's
so many of us and it's so expensive.
The only way we're going to make it is if one of you turns out to be exceptional.
So maybe winning the lottery is the example of them being exceptional.
Hey, man, we love it when you're on the show.
Keep up the great work up there in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania and around the country.
Your message is awfully important.
You're great, but more than that, you really just think about some things and a lot of
things.
And we appreciate, we appreciate working alongside you and thanks for being on the show.
Thank y'all.
I'll see y'all in a bit.
Thanks for having me.
All right.
Thank you, Maj.
And we're going to be right back after this.
After this question that Joe Biden said, this actually statement, you ain't black.
We'll be right back on the other side.
Listen, you got to come see us when you come to New York, VP Biden.
I will.
It's a long way until November.
We got more questions.
You got more questions.
I tell you, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump and you
ain't black.
It don't have nothing to do with Trump.
It has to do with the fact I want something for my community.
I would love to see my record, man.
I extended the voting racks 25 years.
I have a record that is second to none.
We want to thank you all for joining us today on TPAC Live.
We love having Maj Ture on.
What a great guy he is.
He's a brave voice up there in Philadelphia and, of course, around the country.
And it was great to talk to Chip Roy, a great crusading conservative in Texas.
I mean, Chip Roy is fearless.
If there's any buddy we don't want to lose in Congress, it's Chip Roy.
And Mercy and I had the great honor of being at the White House and we were there for the
selection of Amy Coney Barrett to fill this seat on the Supreme Court.
Remember, it's not Ruth Bader Ginsburg's seat.
It's our seat.
And I thought that Judge Barrett had a great tribute to Justice Ginsburg in her remarks.
But this is something that America has to confront and make a decision on.
And, of course, the Senate is the ultimate arbiter of whether or not she gets on the
court.
I'm feeling very confident that she will and that we're going to have the votes.
And just listening to her and her story and her approach, my favorite thing she said besides,
of course, her beautiful family and her description of how they interrelate to each other,
was the fact that she believes, like Justice Scalia, that her job is simply to interpret
the words of the Constitution.
Oh, my gosh.
That was music to my ears.
Now, we want you all to join us in North Carolina, for CPAC North Carolina, right outside
Greensboro.
You can go to our website at conservative.org.
Some of you have been flying from around the country to join us because you just want to
be with people that think like you and you want to do everything you can to make sure
that America turns.
You're welcome to join us if you're from other states.
If you're from North Carolina, please make the drive.
Come join us.
Come hear the message.
Diamond and Silk is going to join us again.
I will be there.
Again, we're going to have many other great guests, including the local congressman, Mark
Walker, who's a great ally of the American Conservative Union.
So go on our website.
Give us a call if you have any questions.
Come join us as we keep marching through this country in this effort to remind Americans
that socialism only makes you poorer, makes you sicker, makes you less optimistic, and
is inconsistent with this whole idea of America.
Let's all say a prayer for our country.
And let's all say a prayer for the president as Tuesday's a big night with the first debate.
Will Joe Biden show up?
Will Joe Biden say that he can't come for some reason?
Will Joe Biden have a teleprompter?
These are all questions to be determined.
I have my own opinion.
And stay tuned to hear what those are.
Thanks for joining us again on CFAC Live.
