Community honors mom who died saving her son in St. Johns River

Tonight, dozens of people gathered to remember a mother who gave her own life to save her four year old son in the ST john's river. The little boy survived and tonight loved ones promised to wrap their arms around the six Children she left behind. Fox 35 Chris Lindsay is live in Orange City. Yes, the park was filled with pink tonight as that was her favorite color this coming as people wanted to really honor her and remember the good times they shared with her. There were plenty of tears tonight, but there were also some smiles as people thought back. I'm happy at this point to see all this love in the evening spent honoring the life of Nicole Grayson, the land woman who lost her life jumping into the ST john's river to save her four year old son after he fell into the water at Edstone Park in the land. She did what any mother would do and that will lay down their life for their child. The little boy made it out okay with the help of a few bystanders. But by the time they pulled her out the water, she was unresponsive tonight. Dozens gathered at a park in Orange City sharing memories of a woman they say always put others first each day, each breath, each moment we're gonna think of, think of her, but it's gonna be a long journey one day at a time and making a promise as a community.
