Russian expert and journalist Ivan Yakovyna stated that Ukraine has begun a new phase of pressure on Russia—strike on major logistics centers and mega-warehouses of marketplaces. According to him, such facilities cannot be considered ordinary warehouses: they have become part of the supply infrastructure for the Russian economy, major cities, and even the Russian military. Yakovina notes that Russian military and volunteer networks actively use marketplaces to purchase equipment, uniforms, footwear, sights, drones, and other goods for the front. Therefore, in his opinion, attacks on such warehouses affect not only private businesses but also the Russian army's supply system. "The attacks on Wildberries, the attacks on these gigantic mega-warehouses—they're attacks on the Russian army's supply infrastructure. This must be understood with absolute clarity," says Yakovina. Yakovina also cites Igor Girkin's words as a warning sign , warning from prison that the gasoline crisis could be followed by logistics, energy, and food crises. Yakovina himself believes that strikes on refineries are depriving Russia of revenue, while strikes on logistics are severing economic ties within the country. He also highlights the scale of the marketplaces themselves. According to him, Wildberries alone's turnover reaches 6 trillion rubles—more than the current Russian budget deficit and the entire Russian military-industrial complex. Therefore, the destruction of large warehouses could create problems not only for the owners of the goods, but also for millions of sellers, buyers, and small businesses. Yakovina compares mega-warehouses to the "heart and circulatory system" of the modern economy: through them, goods quickly reach people and businesses. If such centers are disabled, delivery will become more expensive and slower, goods will become unstorable, and small and medium-sized businesses will lose their traditional sales infrastructure. He also links the blows to logistics with Russia's overall economic weakness: the fuel crisis, problems facing farmers, the decline of industry, pressure on the stock market, and the Finance Ministry's difficulties in servicing debt. According to him, Russian banks are already demanding higher yields on OFZs because they consider the state's risks too high.
Recall, Ukraine launched a series of attacks on Wildberries' logistics infrastructure in Russia. Following a massive fire at the company's largest logistics center in Krasnodar, Wildberries' sorting center in Nevinnomyssk was also hit. Footage posted online shows a massive warehouse complex engulfed in flames. A thick column of black smoke rises from the building, and the fire continues to burn. Thus, this morning, two major facilities of Russia's largest marketplace were already under attack. Earlier, a large fire broke out at Wildberries' logistics center in Krasnodar, covering approximately 100,000 square meters and serving as one of the company's key distribution hubs in southern Russia. Wildberries previously confirmed drone attacks on its logistics facilities in Kotovsk and Elektrostal. Ukraine has repeatedly stated that it is striking facilities used to support the Russian military in response to ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. Since the start of the full-scale war, Russian troops have destroyed dozens of Ukrainian shopping centers, warehouses, postal terminals, stores, and other civilian infrastructure. Kyiv claims that logistics facilities used to supply the Russian army are legitimate military targets. Information about the extent of damage in Nevinnomyssk and the consequences of the strike is being clarified.
