Ukrainian military has struck key highway which supplies Russian-annexed Crimea Peninsula. In a statement published on social media, the Ukrainian military said they hit the R-280 highway today despite Russia’s earlier claims of taking full control of the road. In the statement, the Ukrainian military accused Russian-installed officials of painting a false picture of the situation. In particular, the Ukrainian military ridiculed Russian-appointed Zaporizhzhia official Yevgeny Balitsky for what they described as issuing false claims, stating that the only thing truly “under control” of Russian army is the growing tally of vehicles destroyed along the R-280 highway and the surrounding rural roads. According to the post, from July 1 to July 21, the number of destroyed Russian vehicles exceeded 1,000, including trucks, engineering equipment, and fuel tankers. It adds that a full monthly summary will be released at the end of July, while updated figures are reportedly being tracked in real time. The video footage released on social media captures Ukraine’s precision strikes on Russian military targets on the highway.
