Things Just Took a Major Turn For The Wild...
Jul 19, 2026
Things have taken a significant turn in the Minnesota Wilds pursuit for Dylan Larkin as Michael Russo has just dropped a very
interesting update detailing how the removal of Steve Iserman as GM of the Detroit Red Wings
completely erases any progress the Minnesota Wilds have made and how the next GM has to be in a very
good spot for the Wilds to be able to make this happen. Folks, before we do kind of go into all of this
We have a lot of stuff coming, a lot of stuff discussing surrounding Dylan Larkin as we're back to phase one
We're back to square one in this situation. Be sure to drop a sub here on the channel

This is where we currently stand. As Michael Russo took a few days off, was in Europe and the Athletic article that he most recently dropped
says this
The biggest issue for the Wilds isn't that the news kills the Larkin train, not the case
It's that it removes whatever momentum there was towards one. Detroit suddenly has every reason to pause, let a new executive settle in
Meet with Larkin and reassess before making arguably the biggest decision the franchise has made in years
I don't think this eliminates any trade, but this may even knock down a little bit of what
Dillon Larkin's plan is for the future of his career with the Detroit Reds
There's a lot of stuff that I think has to play into it whether it's on the GM side, Dillon Larkin's side
And we're gonna touch on that here in this video

I'm also gonna go over their promotions they have going on over there as well
Thank you again to PrizePix for sponsoring this video. Now when we look at the team, this is where things currently stand
And these are the four teams that are going to be in the mix and you throw Minnesota in there
We've seen that, Vegas, Florida
I'm taking a little bit of Florida out of this now that they've gotten Brady and Chuck
But recently the Dallas Stars have been added and they have a good candidate to make something like this happen by
Doing some sort of swap for Jason Robertson
But with this new GM, with whoever it is that comes in, there's been talks of Brennan Shanahan
There's been talks of some people inside the organization. It will still matter what the plan is
What they think the plan is for the Reds
Are they going to rebuild? Are they going to retool?
I guess. Are they going to go ahead and say no, we need to keep Bill Narkin, we're buyers
That is the biggest question and the first part of that if the Wilds are
Able to make a deal that we've seen them offer
To the Red Wings and they choose the rebuilding stage
They immediately have the best offer and this is why we look at the trade ships for the Wilds and all of their trade ships
have been
Reportedly going to Detroit in this deal. Daniil Yurov, Charlie Strammel
And whatever of the first round picks that they are willing to give up or Detroit One
Sorry about that, just had a sneeze off camera, but when you're looking at these
Players you don't get these assets going to Detroit. This is exactly what any sort of retooling
Rebuilding team would need and I don't think it's something that necessarily
The Wilds want to give up
But if it has to be this they're willing to do it because this is one of the big reasons they put all of their
Chips on Bill Narkin. You see this here continuing from the same athletic article from Michael Russo and Joe Smith
What is harder to tell at least right away is whether this new development will help or hurt the Wilds chances
Of landing the ever elusive number one center. Remember, the Wilds have been holding off in hopes of Larkin
They essentially backed out of
Attempting a trade for Vincent Trocek because Larkin wants to come to Minnesota
They know that. Of course, it still will matter. He wants to stay with Bill Guerin, Quinn Hughes, Matt Boldy, Brock Faber
Whoever, whoever played on Team USA Olympic team
He wants to play with a few of those guys
Plus the Wilds are just a very good team as are everybody that we've seen on this list
They know he would love to come to Minnesota
He would probably like to go elsewhere as well just to be able to win
But Minnesota I think has another kind of upper standpoint from this
But once again, it still all depends on what this new GM will be looking for for this team. I think also how
CEO, president of the Red Wings wants this team to kind of go
He's not gonna hire a GM who thinks maybe they're going in the wrong direction
So really comparing the loss of Vincent Trocek what could have been for probably very close to what we just saw in that report
And you know their estimated I guess deal
For Dylan Larkin if you're like really comparing Vincent Trocek to Dylan Larkin
Which I don't think it's a fair thing to do. 53 points in 67 games a 57% win on the faceoff
Trocek's a good player, but I think ultimately his value
Was too high. It's too high regardless of what it is
But you look at Dylan Larkin put it into his space see what Dylan Larkin has done
And although he's never had you know a crazy high point season
67 points
74 games
53% on the dot and you know, you know what kind of player he is. He's fast. He's able to shoot good on the power play
It's the same thing but a little bit better than what the Wild need in Vincent Trocek
And I think that the contracts are something as well that are really gonna boost Dylan Larkin's price up more than what Vincent Trocek would be
Even though Vincent Trocek still I guess I think it's a little bit too high
5.6 in your five of seven of that deal and then you go ahead and look at where they are for Dylan Larkin
Eight by seven eight point seven, excuse me by eight years four remaining on that or five remaining on that now the new year has kicked in
It's a much better deal. It's something the Wild really would need to make happen if they want to be able to have a
Queen Hughes on a major team a Kirill Kaprizov and a lot of more a lot more bigger contracts eventually will be on this team
It's a much better scenario
so I think it makes sense why Dylan Larkin is still their number one target why they backed out of a deal or a
Potential deal or Vincent Trocek and when you consider the positive side of this right here
Michael Russo and Joe Smith continue with this the Wild still believe they have one major thing working in their favor
Larkin's desire to come to Minnesota Wild hasn't changed that doesn't mean Detroit
It was forced to trade him anywhere anytime and soon
In fact Wednesday's news probably gives your organization every reason to see a new front office convince the captain to stay
So this is a pretty big risk for the Wild knowing that you know, this was the center option. This was it
There's nobody right now on free agency that would move the needle down the middle
Is there anybody by a trade anymore that would really move the needle?
I don't think so
so
it's gonna be interesting to see where things go and if they can you know, eventually either get Dylan Larkin or maybe even have
Carly Strammel as
Push him elevate him to a bigger center role. I think what anybody would thought right away from him now
You see this as well from kind of the other side of it where you're getting a little bit of negative here
Problem for now is Minnesota's perspective at least is the real no plan B
Other than Dylan Larkin down the middle the Wild passed out or passed on the price
Excuse me for Trocek who was acquired obviously by the Utah Mammoth for Sean Jersey Cole Beaudoin
the third round pick which ultimately wasn't horrible and
And then they also went and grabbed Aunders Lee, you know, the Wilds have no other opportunities right now
It's Dylan Larkin or Bust at this point. I really want to know what you guys think about it if
This kind of moves the needle in the positive direction negative direction what you guys think about it
And if the Wilds feel chill, I should still excuse me push for Dylan Larkin
So folks, let me know what you think down below very quickly
I am gonna go over my price picks for tomorrow's World Cup final
Messi more than half the goal Enzo Fernandez more than half a shot on target and we mean you know more than half a shot
