It Smells Like Fire! Dogs React To Thick Wildfire Smoke!

Oh my goodness! You sure you want to go out here? Okay, here we go! This is crazy! Well friends, guess what we're doing today? Guess what we're doing today? Can you guys see what we can see? So to preface this, I had this really great plan to make a really fun swimming pool video with the dogs today and Mother Nature has other plans. Can you guys see? So the day I'm filming this is Wednesday. You guys will see this on Saturday. Hopefully by then, most of this will have passed and gone over us. For those of you that may not know, we do live in Northern Michigan and right now, Northern Michigan is getting massive wildfire smoke that is coming out of Canada and Northern Minnesota and it hit us today and we are now in the dangerous air zone. You're not supposed to stay outside for very long times, things like that. I mean honestly, it kind of feels like we're camping right now because this feels like a campfire. It's actually what it feels like. It feels like and smells like campfire which is kind of crazy. What do you girls think? So we had two days of extreme heat and the dogs weren't able to come outside and do a whole lot. So today I was going to film this super fun pool video and now we can't stay outside for very long at all because we have crazy smoke. What do you think of this? I know it's craziness, isn't it? So I thought instead I would kind of make a quick little video showing you guys the wildfire smoke and answering a few questions that you guys have been leaving recently. We did a live stream last week and a lot of you guys were asking you know about Memphis and how we're doing and how the dogs are doing and everything because you know it's been what a month and a half now and we're okay. The dogs are doing okay. I can tell that Kira's got a little bit of her spark and her more she's happy to see people when they come over. She wants to play a little bit more. She definitely seems to be a little bit more happy than she has been which is nice. Eleanor, she seems kind of oblivious to the whole thing but she does seem to be doing better as well which is also nice. Some of you have asked if Memphis is home yet. Yes, if you guys do not know this we did have Memphis cremated and she is home. I have her urn inside actually. I can insert a little clip of it right here. It's a beautiful green urn. I have not put it up on the shelf yet. That is the next step in the things I need to do. Look at how crazy the smoke is. My gosh and yes I do still have Memphis's last camping trip that I need to edit and upload for you guys. It's just been a little bit difficult to do as I'm sure you can understand. I also have a fun day trip I did with Eleanor to share with you guys as well so those will all be going up soon but with the crazy weather we're having right now, the crazy day we're having today with all the smoke and everything that's going on. I thought I had to at least update you guys. Right now it says this is going to last for two days. I mean the pool is open. We could get in there. It would make a very interesting video but because we can't spend a whole lot of time outside I don't think we're getting in the pool. I don't think that's what's happening. What do you think? Yeah so like I said we really just wanted to do a quick little update for you guys. Let you know we are doing okay. I know some of you have already reached out as of this morning asking how we're doing with the wildfire smoke because as soon as things hit the news you guys always tend to know. Those of you that know where we live you know up here in northern Michigan you always tend to hit me with oh are you guys safe from this? Are you safe from that? Are you safe from the cyclo-splo-lo-lo-lo thing that's going around? Yeah we're good. We're good I promise. I promise we're good. That right there you can clearly see how thick the smoke is in the air. Yeah so I don't want to keep these girls out here for too long because it's uh it's a little smoky out here. We all smell like campfire which is weird and we're not even camping so it's been very interesting. We're gonna keep this short because I don't want to spend a whole bunch of time outside. Even though we are currently... we don't have a wildfire happening but the wildfires that are happening are definitely impacting our house. So we thought we'd just do a quick little update video for you guys. Oh and of course to tell you guys thank you so much for everything. Oh and don't mind Kira's eye staining. See she got a little eye staining happening there and then I tried to clean it up and I just made it stain her fur worse. So we're gonna leave that alone for now. So if you see her her little eye looks a little more yellow on one side. Yeah it's totally my fault. Right? Totally my fault. Oh so yeah we're good. We're okay.
