South Carolina Representative Ralph Norman steps up to the podium at CPAC Texas where he addresses the policies of the Biden administration toward the business industry.
Ladies and gentlemen, from South Carolina, please welcome Congressman Ralph Norman.
Welcome CPAC Patriots. Wow, what a crowd. You know, I want to thank Matt and
Mercedes Slap for what they've done and I want to thank each one of you. You
could be anywhere and you're here in Dallas, Texas on a convention of
conservatives. Folks, let me tell you, before I got in Congress, I had a real
job. I was a contractor. I built houses. I made money and I lost money. It's funny,
before I was coming over here, a lady stopped me. She said, everybody ought to be in
business before they get in politics and you're exactly right. I wasn't sent to
Congress to bankrupt the country. I wasn't sent to Congress to bankrupt my
business. You make money. You make money for the American people when you're in
Congress. Now, who comes to mind when you think about a politician who entered
after a successful business career? Donald J. Trump. And you know, look at who
we've got in office right now. A career politician. He's never made money. He's
never lost money of his own. He's busy spending your money. Look at his backup,
Kamala Harris. What a doozy. What a doozy. That laugh, first time I heard it, it's a
cackle. It's a screeching sound. Pronouns, you know, you think about somebody who
wants to tell you what to call them, it's an egotism that I can't quite understand.
What about it, the idiot? How would that work? Folks, I had the privilege of
building a product that is the American dream. Families, a husband and a wife, a
male and a female, have children. They eat together. They pray together in the
home. They have chores together. And this is what Joe Biden is destroying, the
American dream, because the house is the heartbeat of the American dream. Now,
what do we do to fix it? It's very simple, folks. The Calvary is coming in November.
We're going to rip the gavel from Nancy Pelosi's hand. Now, that's not where it
stops. What we've got to do is, one, we've got to elect people, but we've got to have
the courage to seal our borders. We've got to have the courage to make oil and
energy in America. That's what helps my industry, because the home building industry
is the benchmark for the economy. You know why? Because over 137 different trades,
from sheetrock to architects to footings to the banker that closes a loan, it provides jobs to
everybody all over the country. We've got to protect that. And, folks, I can't tell you,
the courage will come from each one of you to demand of the newly elected officials, once we
gain control, to do what they say they're going to do. Power for the sake of power is no good.
I'm excited about the upcoming elections. I'm excited about getting something done.
I'm excited about saying things that we're going to deliver. And let me close with this.
Winston Churchill once said, when Great Britain was under siege, when they didn't know where
they were going to survive, and I'll never forget this, he said, there'll be a time when doing your
best is not enough. We must do what's required. Let us do what's required to take this country
back. Let us do what's required to enforce our Constitution in the name of freedom.
God help all of us. God help us to save America. Without America, where do we go?
God bless each one of you. Thank you.
