Let's get another check of the weather now and welcome back Skyler Skyler.
We were outside earlier and one thing I said to you was we caught a breeze and it didn't even help.
It felt like it was just blowing more hot air into our face.
How much longer is this going to stick around?
This level of heat is going to start to reduce as we head into the next day or so,
but it's still going to be very hot.
We're still looking at low 90s temperatures with the humidity feeling even warmer.
And it's not just the heat and the humidity that are making it difficult to breathe out there.
It's also some of that wildfire smoke.
So in terms of what we're looking at, that surface level smoke forecast,
as we progress throughout our Thursday into Friday,
we're going to continue to see that smoke.
Unfortunately, that lingers for tonight, tomorrow, tomorrow night.
Hopefully, as we head into the weekends, things do start to improve,
but there's a lot of wildfires burning and the wind is shifting it into our area.
You can see all throughout Canada and some other areas of the United States,
we're seeing some of those wildfires and that's just bringing that smoke here.
Now, what will help is showers and storms.
We've already seen some of those,
but what we're seeing out there this evening isn't enough to bring all that smoke out of the air.
So in terms of what that'll be, it'll require a shift in the wind
and it will require some additional rain and storms.
We don't see that until we move into the weekend.
So Thursday and Friday, relatively dry, still very warm
and some humidity lowering throughout our Thursday.
And continuing into early parts of the weekend,
we're going to notice some of that humidity picking up out ahead of some of these storms.
But then take a look, as we get into early parts of Saturday,
we have showers lingering.
We're going to see some storms likely in the afternoon.
We're going to keep an eye on that as we get closer,
but we need some of that to grab some of those pollutants and pull them out of the air.
So again, Thursday and Friday looking okay in terms of rain.
Still hot, still feeling on the muggy side as well,
but we're continuing to wait for some drenching rain that we need
for that drought to continue to head in the right direction.
We're not seeing that just yet, but we have seen improvement out around us.
Some areas that were in severe drought now in that moderate drought.
So we're going to see an update for that as we head into tomorrow as well.
So a lot to keep our eyes on over the next several days.
The wildfire smoke, thunderstorms and the heat.
