Our Truck Interior Kits Got So Popular We Had to Move
Our classic truck interior kits got popular enough that we ran out of room. In this video Jason walks you through our original interior and upholstery shop, where the whole operation, including a mill work and fab department are squeezed and has been running out of space, then takes you into FF2, Fat Fender Garage's second location, where everything is expanding.
Fat Fender Interiors builds two leather upholstery kits for classic and vintage trucks. The FF Signature Interior Kit is a single-color leather kit, perfect if you're restoring your truck and just want to ditch the worn-out original interior for something fresh and clean. The FF Tailor-Made Interior Kit steps it up with two-tone combos, custom stitching designs, and that extra VIP treatment for a full restomod interior. In this video you'll see both, including a finished 48-52 F1 Signature kit with magnetic armrest storage, and how these leather interior kits for classic Ford F100s and Chevy C10s actually get made, from leather grading and cutting to CNC sewn seat inserts and door panels.
Then we head over to FF2 to check out the new industrial Biesse CNC machine that's replacing our little workhorse, the four assembly line stations we're setting up, a cyclorama photo wall we're building for marketing, and a warehouse with about four times the space we had before. There's also another machine showing up in a couple months that we're keeping quiet on for now. That one gets its own video.
The goal with all of this is simple: better organization, shorter lead times, and room to keep growing. By the end of the year we're planning to have all the OBS interiors done, Bullnose interiors reworked, three more Chevrolet lines added to our current 67-72 C10 kits, plus square bodies, 60s trucks, and the 55-59 Fords after that. Eventually we'll get into cars too. If you're doing a vintage truck restoration, chances are we'll have an interior for it soon if we don't already.
