Welcome back today.

We're all the way in Connecticut with one of my favorite people on earth.
Debbie Lindlin.
How are you?
Thank you.
I love you.
63 years young.
So healthy.
And she's been raw vegan for 24 years.
She came on for a podcast and you guys loved it.
It went super viral.
So we are in her kitchen to find out exactly what she eats in a day to have so much energy,
be thriving on no medications, right?
Yo, no medication.
Yeah.
So let's hop into it.
How are you?
Good.
How are you?
Thank you so much.
I'm so happy to be here.
I'm so happy to have you.
Well, I'm in your kitchen.
So for anybody who doesn't know you, why did you go raw 24 years ago?
And what happened when you went raw?
Okay.
So this could be a two hour video, but I will just say that I had ulcerative colitis,
osteoarthritis.
I had digestive systems.
I used to have a bowel movement once every three weeks.
And at 39 years old, I went into the hospital for incredible pain that I was having for,
you know, since I was young.
And they told me that I had the worst case of ulcerative colitis they've ever seen.
And they wanted to take out my colon.
And they said that it was, I would be dead in a couple of months if I didn't have it
taken out.
So that's when I had this incredible God speaking to me.
And he basically said, you got to get out of here, sign yourself out of the hospital.
And I put everything on the earth to heal you.
And when you find out what it is, I want you to heal yourself.
And I want you to help other people and heal them.
You know, help heal them.
I got goosebumps when he said that.
Wow.
Are you glad you didn't do that then for you?
Absolutely.
I signed myself out.
The doctors were like, you know, they called in a psychiatrist and they held my hand.
I'll never forget this.
And he said, you are in what we call a state of denial.
And you're going to die if you leave the hospital.
And I kind of laughed because I was like, what are you talking about?
Like, didn't I just tell you God spoke to me?
You know, and he was like, he's like, you know, this can happen.
And you have like hallucinations and stuff.
But it was so clear.
And it was just so, you know, there was no doubting what I heard and what I felt like.
And it wasn't a voice out loud.
It was just like a knowing, like it just came to me.
And I said, well, how do I know?
And God said, I will guide you along the way.
I'll guide you along.
And I had no fear.
I had four kids at home.
I had no fear that what they were telling me was that I wasn't going to heal.
So I did.
I left the hospital, signed myself out.
And what I found.
And this is not medical advice.
Do your own thing.
But I'm so glad this worked out.
I would never say that to anybody.
I know.
You know what?
If you get that knowing.
I know.
Like I heard Lou Corona and I cried my eyes out because I said, that's exactly the feeling.
It's hard to explain because it's not a voice and it's not somebody who came to
me and I didn't see anything and I didn't hear voices in my head.
It was just like, there's no doubt.
And when it's that strong and it's that loud, you just do it.
You just do it.
So then you immediately just started eating real food.
So I got out of the hospital and I started, he told me I have to research.
So I was like, oh, you know, you'll find it.
I put everything on the earth to heal you.
So I started researching and I came across this diet, which, you know,
took me like two days and I came across a diet called breaking a vicious cycle.
It's the specific carbohydrate diet.
And Elaine Gottschall wrote this book and she said that it was helping people with all
sorts of colitis, Crohn's, any kind of digestive issue, diverticulitis, diverticulosis, everything.
So I, it made so much sense.
And, and, and I tell you from that day on my whole life, when I get a knowing and it's
like ding, ding, ding, that's it.
It's always right.
And I will never doubt that knowing, and I don't always get it, but when I do, I just
know.
So I, I started doing the SCD diet, which was kind of perfect because in four days,
I never had a pain again.
It was including meat though.
And I tell you what, if I had done the raw food diet directly from the pain I was in
and how flared up I was, that would have been a very bad thing to do because you don't want
to do that with ulcerative colitis.
You don't want to just go to raw and vegetables and that fiber and stuff.
So it kind of healed me first.
And then I found out about the raw food diet through, um, I, I had ordered something once
and I called, uh, the guy called me up saying, we don't have this.
And he said to me, how, why are you eating this type of food?
And I said, well, I had ulcerative colitis, blah, blah, blah.
I start talking to this guy, telling him my story.
And he says, you sound exactly like Paul Nissan.
So I was just like, really, who's Paul?
Like, I had no idea.
And he talked to me about the raw food diet.
And I knew from that second, it was like, ding, ding, ding, ding.
I'm a raw foodist.
So I, I, I said, I literally woke my husband up at the time and I said to him, guess what?
I'm a raw foodist.
He's like, what's that?
I had to explain the whole thing.
I was like, yeah, no, this is going to be, and, and I never, 10 years, I never had a
sip of tea because it was hot.
I never had, I'm not saying this is the right thing to do.
I'm just saying in my head, I never had a bite off of 100% raw for 10 full years.
And now I'm not 100% raw because I will steam some mushrooms sometimes, or I'll do some
steamed vegetables.
And every once in a while when I don't feel like sprouting or I didn't have enough sprouts
left, I will throw in a can of beans or something like that.
But yeah.
It's so healthy though.
Wow.
And then going raw, like totally transformed everything.
Like you noticed a big difference when you went all raw?
Oh yeah.
When I went all raw, the SCD diet helped me heal all sort of colitis for sure.
And I felt great.
But the raw food diet is like, ah, that I felt like it opened up my entire world.
My senses, my, you know, I could see things better.
I felt things clearer.
I, I, I, it changed everything.
I felt amazing.
The energy, you know, and that's the whole thing.
When I don't eat, if I eat something that's not raw, I feel it immediately.
I would prefer to be 100% raw, but it doesn't always work out that way.
And sometimes I feel like having something like, like I said, like some sweet potato
or something like that.
It doesn't, not often, but every once in a while I will.
Yeah.
I do feel it.
Yeah.
I do feel the difference.
Wow.
Okay.
Well, I'm excited to see what you eat.
Okay.
So let's start with the morning.
So before we get into what you first have, do you have any morning routines?
Like do you meditate or anything, or do you wait a few hours until you have your first
meal?
Okay.
So what I do first when I get up is I've been doing this.
I made this up and I'm doing this for 20 years.
Okay.
It started off with me just doing wheatgrass and I realized that, wow, I feel great just
doing the wheatgrass.
And then little by little, I started just adding in other things into it.
So for 20 years, I just wake up and I do lemon water first.
And then I wait a little bit and I do this morning drink.
Okay.
Usually my first meal, besides the juice, is at around 11.
Okay.
11, 12 o'clock like that.
Okay.
So how do we make this?
This looks great.
So this is what I do.
So I just put in some water.
And you probably feel a lot happier, right?
Versus when you only had bowel movements every three weeks.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I didn't realize because I was born with a twisted colon.
Somebody told me.
I don't know.
I was born with a twisted colon and I used to have, I was in pain my whole life since
I was nine years old.
Yeah.
So I was, you know, because it was just, and it was intermittent.
And so I didn't even realize.
I didn't even know you weren't supposed to be going to the bathroom every three weeks.
I thought that was kind of normal.
So, you know.
Yeah.
But yes, I definitely feel a lot happier.
Good.
So this is lemon juice.
Okay.
And I just pour in a little bit.
All right.
And I do a teaspoon of spirulina.
I don't think anybody in their right mind would actually make this and do this every
morning.
But I'll tell you why.
So you notice a lot of benefits from this?
Yeah.
Yes.
I'm going to tell you what happened.
So this is mushroom, a blended mushroom.
Well, we want to be like you at 63, Deb.
Like you got so much energy, right?
And that's not the norm these days at 63, right?
A lot of people start having a real problem.
Shocked at what I see sometimes.
Yeah.
You know.
So maybe we should be making this every morning.
Okay.
So wait, let me just tell you the story.
Okay.
So this is daily green boost.
Don Bennett makes this green powder.
I used to do two scoops.
Things get a little expensive.
Yeah, I narrowed it down to one.
I figured I'm good with that.
He also says you should be doing this on a piece of fruit or something and not blending
it in water.
You don't get the full benefits.
Okay.
I mean, I just, you know, there's only so much I can do.
This is Moringa.
And this is Amla.
I started doing Amla because I heard it's good for your hair.
And so.
I think it's good for blood sugar too.
Yes, blood sugar.
And I ran out.
This is healthy, Deb.
Complete Greens by Joel Fuhrman.
I ran out.
I usually do a scoop.
I'm just going to put in the rest of that.
Okay.
Blueberry.
You're going to taste this, right?
Yeah, I would love to.
Thanks.
I want to taste everything.
I already had mine this morning, but I'm making it again.
Okay.
This is a blueberry powder by Vimeji.
And it's antioxidants.
And this is turmeric.
And it doesn't sound like it's drinkable, right?
So this is all about a teaspoon of turmeric and blueberry, right?
Yes.
Yeah.
A teaspoon.
And hold on one second, because I.
So then frozen, I have.
And I just want to say quick, you guys stick around till the end,
because we have the most insane dessert and other items coming that I've ever seen.
Oh, thank you.
So this is sea moss.
I use the purple one.
I don't know.
I used to use the green, the clear one.
But they said that the purple one had more benefits or something.
I don't know.
Anyway, this is wheatgrass.
I get this from Dynamic Greens.
And I just take four cubes every single day.
And I put it in.
So this is, you make sea moss ice cubes?
I do.
I put them into little ice cubes.
I make it and then I fill it up for like a month's worth.
Oh, cool.
So that every morning I can just grab one of them out.
And that's.
That's smart.
I've never seen anybody do that.
Okay.
So that doesn't sound like it tastes very good, right?
Does it?
I'm so used to it.
I actually enjoy it.
Like, it's like people drinking coffee and they're like, ah, coffee.
For me, it's energy.
It's energy.
It's a boost of energy.
I snort my day off.
I see so many people drinking coffee to wake up.
And I'm like, oh, guys, you just drink this.
Okay.
So let's just.
I normally drink this whole thing every morning.
This is my life.
This is my breakfast.
Now, of course.
You're going to live to 120.
I already had it this morning.
But why not?
Let's have a little more.
Not going to hurt.
Yeah.
Okay.
Cheers.
I can get behind that.
Yeah, it's not bad.
I'm loaded with health.
I mean, so what happened is years ago.
I like it.
I was having some issues with my stomach and digestion, you know, and I had gone to the
doctor and she said to me, you're not digesting any of your food right now.
She's like, you know, you are probably deficient in every single vitamin and mineral.
She goes, we have to do tests.
So she does tests and she says, I don't understand.
She said, you're all your numbers.
Everything is great.
And then she looked at what I ate and all my stuff.
She goes, you're not digesting your food.
She said, that morning drink is saving your life right now.
She said, because you have a pancreas.
I had no pancreatic enzymes.
You know, I had issues or whatever.
So yeah.
So she said that the only reason I think that you're even doing as well as you are, she
goes, because your numbers are all fine.
She goes, you're not deficient in anything.
Because look at all these nutrients.
I'm like, okay, we're going to keep doing this forever, you know?
And you know what I like about this?
It's a good way to start the day because it's a lot of greens, nutrition.
It's not like crazy spiking blood sugar.
Right.
I think it's good.
Right.
Yeah.
I like it, Debbie.
I really like, I'm surprised.
I didn't think I would really like it.
Yeah.
It's so much.
I think the key is, I don't like lemon normally by itself, you know, whatever.
But when you put it in things like this, I feel like it makes everything okay.
Yeah.
You know, you can, you can just, you know, drink this.
Yeah.
Okay.
So let's get on to the next thing.
Okay.
So next I have a green juice.
I never missed my green juice.
Okay.
So I just put in, and I usually make for like two days.
Okay.
You know, like I don't, you know, I know they say you're supposed to drink it.
When we first started making green juices back in the day, it would be like, hurry up.
They would, they would tell you in the place, hurry up, drink it.
You got 20 minutes and you're going to lose everything.
But you know, at this point, it's like.
There's so much fresher when you make it fresh than when you buy the bottled ones at the store.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
I wouldn't even buy.
Cilantro or parsley?
Okay.
So I have cilantro and parsley.
So one bunch of each.
Okay.
Yep.
And then I just cut up some fennel.
Okay.
And I throw that in and I have to do a couple of them, obviously.
I'm not going to, you know, I don't know why I cut that off really.
And then cucumber.
Okay.
So then I do cucumber and I do a whole, I threw it on the floor.
I do a whole, like a couple of cucumbers, but I'm, you know, making for two days.
So three days, even sometimes.
Okay.
Yeah.
I have ginger and turmeric.
So I'm doing more turmeric.
So when did you first start juicing?
Like how many years ago?
I guess 20, in the beginning, 23 years ago.
Wow.
Yeah.
And that's another thing.
I rarely, rarely miss a day of juicing.
Okay.
Why do I have so much energy, Deb?
Why do I act like this all the time?
And wait, I want to say too quick.
Look at these bags, you guys.
I've never seen these bags before.
These are amazing.
And you were showing me in your fridge, how organized it looks where I can try.
You can send me the link.
I'll try to put these below.
Okay.
I can get that by the time the video's up because I want to get these.
Yeah.
Ambrosia bags, they're linen and they keep the produce fresh and they fit so much more
than you can imagine.
If you just look at this one thing, look.
And it seems like it keeps the fridge way more organized.
I need to get this.
Wow.
And I fit more things in here.
I have fennel in here and other things too.
So it really fits a lot.
Okay.
So I have to turn this on a couple of times.
Okay.
Yeah.
Right?
So.
Yeah.
All right.
And then we'll add more stuff.
So you add a bunch of celery?
Yeah.
Okay.
Good for the bones.
Lots of minerals, right?
I think.
Oh, very good.
Lots of health options.
I'm actually going for a DEXA scan.
My first one.
When I go to the vegan wellness retreat that I'm very excited about.
Oh, yeah.
And, uh.
They have the DEXA scan at the retreat?
Having somebody come.
Yeah.
Cool.
Wow.
So I'm excited.
Then I cut up one apple.
Now one apple usually makes four juices.
So I do like a quarter of an apple.
I don't like sweet green juices.
I like them to be pretty green.
But sometimes I feel like a little apple makes it taste, you know.
And I put in one lemon.
Okay.
And I put in the skin too.
Do you?
I've heard that's healthy.
Yeah.
When I interviewed Yaki Awakens, he left the skin on.
And I've heard people say, I don't know if it's true, that it's a natural antidepressant.
Like when you have something in the skin, it's like a mood booster.
I don't know if it's true.
Yeah.
We used to make this lemon thing where we actually blended in with the skin.
But I realized my stomach wasn't feeling so good while I was doing that.
I was eating the entire lemon skin.
Okay.
So then I add some more kale.
Let's add the-
This is a good juice.
Carrots and lemon.
And what benefits do you notice from juicing?
I tell you what, I definitely feel that when I juice, I eat better.
Like it makes me feel more in control.
I don't know.
It makes me feel happier.
And a lot of times I notice like if I go on my binging things, you know, I do that sometimes.
And I don't want to, but I do.
But I notice that when I drink my green juice, it doesn't really happen.
I think it's just so high vibe electric.
You feel so good.
You want to stay on that frequency and choose like really healthy stuff, healthy stuff.
You know, it's like so high frequency green juice.
Okay.
And then I add a couple of collards.
Wow.
That's healthy.
Wow.
Now that I'm doing this and I'm realizing what I did.
No one.
Have you ever done only fruit or no?
I, okay.
So I think that, and recently I'm finding this more and more and I could be very wrong,
but I don't do well with a lot of fruit.
And I'm starting to realize that it's the high fructose fruit that I have a problem with.
So I can eat pineapple and I can eat bananas and I can eat berries.
But when I eat things like too much apple or, you know, uh, cantaloupe or melons,
I, I, I get this pain in my back and my stomach blows up and I get this pain and it passes in
like 20 minutes, but so no, I don't, I've never, and grades do it to me too.
So I never have done.
I tried a couple of times and I'm like, wow, this is just not working for me.
Yeah.
Sorry.
You got a piece of cilantro.
Oh, now we got cilantro.
Cilantro.
I like to wear my food while I'm making my juice.
So you drink one of these every day pretty much.
Yeah.
One, one or two.
I like, I would like to drink two every day, but I, uh, sometimes just drink one.
Yeah.
And maybe we'll bring Scott in.
Scott, you want to come taste us?
We've got Scott here.
Famous plant-based ripped vegans in the house and a good friend.
We all love him so much.
He came to Connecticut with us.
Hey, Scott, one for you.
Oh, thank you.
Cheers.
We should bring Doug in if he wants to be on camera, if he doesn't want to.
Come on, Doug.
Come in.
Yeah.
We love Doug.
Juices for all.
Healthy juices for all.
Here you go.
Okay.
Cheers.
Try it.
Cheers, everybody.
Healthy wellness.
Yes.
Ready?
Oh, that's the perfect green juice.
Perfect.
Wow.
That is good.
That's delightful.
This is my favorite juice.
I don't make it any other way, really.
I just make this juice.
And when I'm juicing, if I decide to do a juice cleanse, I just do it with this.
And I noticed you guys have a really good relationship.
Do you think you would still have such a good relationship if you weren't health conscious?
Like, do you think you would have attracted this partner?
I do.
I think we're just meant to be together.
We would have found each other anyhow.
Yeah.
One piece of relationship advice, because you guys have such a good relationship.
How do you keep it so good?
Okay.
We laugh a lot.
We do laugh a lot.
I only met one other person who smiles more than I do, because everyone always says,
you're always smiling.
And then I met him, and now they say it to him and not me.
And I'm like, wait, I smile a lot.
And they're like, yeah, but he never stops smiling.
You guys always smile.
I love it.
I don't think we've ever gotten into an argument.
I was saying to somebody the other day, like, last week, you know, my daughter's going through
some things, and I was a little bit on edge.
And I said, I got mad at him for, oh, he said something about the dogs.
I said, oh, my God, you have to say something about the dog.
And he was like, oh, I can't say anything.
I was like, now, now.
And I went in the bedroom.
I slammed the door.
And then I was in there.
I was like, oh, my God, I yelled at him.
So I came back outside.
I was like, you want to be friends again?
And he's like, yeah.
And we started laughing hysterically.
I think the key is to just forgive and forget, like, stupid little things that people argue
over that mean absolutely nothing in the long run, you know?
And so you just have to, yeah.
I will say that being plant, when I went plant-based, it's helped a lot.
Because now there's, like, no meat in the house.
There's no, like, there's no ultra-processed food.
And so that has helped a lot, too.
Because we can, we make food together now.
And it's a lot.
And you don't have to, like, separate.
You used to have to, like, take meat and, like, separate it over there.
So it wouldn't.
Don't put that on my cutting board.
Don't use my knife.
But now, like, we make food and we bring, like, I bring my food everywhere now.
I didn't used to do that.
I used to just always get takeout.
And now, so that's made it, that's been a big change.
It's been fun doing this together.
So that's been fun.
It's way better.
And Scott, you only eat real food, too.
For anybody who doesn't know you, Scott Bernhardt, I'll put his channel down below.
And before we get into the next thing, what is any piece of advice for the audience,
your number one tip for health?
My number one tip for health is don't think of it as a perfection thing.
Think of it as a progressive thing, right?
Start where you're at.
And then from there, you just build as you go and make it fun.
You know, make it fun.
Do your research and just make it a part of your lifestyle.
And that's the most important thing I would say.
Like, don't think of it as, like, a perfection thing because you're going to add a lot of
stress and anxiety.
Like, oh, I want to be perfect.
No, just progressively do it.
And then from there, you just fall right into it, you know?
And for me, being healthy is a happy life.
And being happy is a healthy life.
Look at W.W.
Like, you know, this is alignment, you know?
So yeah, absolutely.
That's the thing.
You meet great people when you take care of yourself, right?
We wouldn't be without you guys today.
Yeah.
That is so true.
You would definitely attract the greatest people.
Like when we go to the fruit festivals and stuff.
Yeah.
Right?
They're the most amazing people.
And if you go to Texas Fruit Festival, you go to Alchemy, which I was supposed to return
these.
So hi, Carly.
I didn't return them.
But she has a juice place there in Texas, in Austin, Texas.
Yeah.
Cool.
Okay.
Well, we're going to enjoy these and then we'll turn the camera on next to see what
Debbie has next.
All right.
Next up, you have a salad.
What time of day do you do the salad?
Around 2 o'clock.
Okay.
2 to 2.30.
Okay.
So I have in here romaine lettuce and bok choy and dandelion.
And I just recently, like in the last month that you started adding the bok choy and the
dandelion for calcium.
Because I realized when I was going on chronometer that I wasn't getting every single thing that
I needed.
And I like to know that I am.
So I played around with it and taking Rick and Karen Dina's class, which is fabulous.
It's a fabulous class.
It's so amazing.
I learned so much.
I'm taking the second year in a row.
I had to take it again because I just had to hear it all again.
They're amazing.
And I learned that I wasn't getting enough calcium, so I added that in some chia seed.
So now I know that I'm getting everything.
By the way, this meal that I'm making, all of this, this is every single thing on chronometer
that your body needs.
All the amino acids, all the way up to the top, calcium, iron, B vitamins, C vitamins,
every single thing that your body needs.
Okay.
Let's see.
This is awesome.
So yes, it's a giant salad.
And yes, sometimes I can't finish it.
I love it.
Always have room for dessert.
Your dessert.
It's like well-renowned.
It's insane.
I can't wait for us to get to that part.
Okay.
So then I, listen, everything changes.
It's not like I do this every single day.
I change my vegetables up all the time.
I like to just cut it like this.
Okay, that's a cool way to do it.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Yeah, that's better than big chunks of broccoli.
Yeah, because I don't really, you know, I don't enjoy chewing into big, giant stalks
of broccoli raw anyway.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah, it's not that great.
And you were saying one thing we missed with the green juices, you were saying you usually
add sprouts, right?
In Dandelion Green.
Oh, yes.
We forgot that.
Yes, I forgot that I add sprouts.
Sunflower sprouts and pea sprouts, I add into that.
And I gotta say, so far your day of eating, I have so much energy.
I feel fantastic.
Oh, really?
So I can see why you're buzzing around the kitchen.
I got so much energy.
Okay, cauliflower, I do, because I realized that I wasn't getting enough choline.
Oh, really?
So there's choline and cauliflower.
There's choline.
And so Rick taught me that, Rick Dina, and he loves cauliflower.
That's his favorite thing.
And I love cauliflower now.
I love that this is like a deliberate salad, you know?
Oh, yeah, everything in it.
Listen, I always say this, it's like everything that I put in my body,
I like to make sure that it's doing something good, you know?
And if somebody's watching and they want to get started raw,
any advice or like started eating real food?
You know, I always say like people replace one meal at a time.
I mean, I just went in all the way, because that's what I do.
I'm all or nothing.
So when I decided that I was going to do raw, I was like,
I am 100% raw and I'm never going off, you know?
And I just dropped everything I was doing and just went raw.
But that seems that that doesn't work for most people.
That seems a little difficult.
So I say replace one meal, like instead of breakfast, do a smoothie.
You know, do something like that so that, you know, you can gradually get into it.
Good idea.
Okay.
So I have that.
I do sometimes like an endive.
We'll just...
Endive?
I don't think I've ever had endive.
I know.
I used to remember what it was good for and why I was doing it,
but I don't remember right now.
I'll throw it in.
That's good.
Okay.
Some sunflower sprouts.
And I'm doing this because I forgot to put it into my juice this morning.
I love sunflower sprouts.
They're so healthy.
Listen, I do more than that.
Sometimes I put a lot of greens in there, it looks like.
But I have tomatoes and peppers.
Of course, we know that peppers are the good source of vitamin C.
And then I just cut these guys in half.
All right.
And we add in some sprouts.
Now, I always add in lentil sprouts.
I usually do a cup or two cups.
Sometimes.
But I can't seem to fit any more in here.
This is more sprouts that I made.
They're five different sprouts.
So it's alfalfa, broccoli.
There is some lentil sprouts in there also.
And these sprouts are power protein sprouts.
Wow.
So it has in it the beans.
It has the garbanzo beans, the pea sprouts.
Nice.
And I usually put about a cup of that in it too.
This looks good.
Now, I think that would be what I would do for a day for today.
And then I do a guacamole, which I'm going to have to show you how I make that.
Yeah.
OK.
Awesome.
OK.
So I don't usually do a dressing anymore.
I used to do dressings all the time.
But I like guacamole.
So what I do is usually I'll just put some avocado on top.
And if I'm doing that, I'll throw in some raisins because then I don't need a dressing.
But today, I'm going to do...
Because you feel better without a dressing, right?
Yes.
Yeah.
Yeah, definitely.
But now, you know, I always throw in zucchini and like everything to stretch it, right?
Because it's good for you.
It's got some vitamins in there.
Oh, yeah.
So what I do is just some onion.
All right.
I have some garlic.
So this is like a guacamole, right?
Yeah, it's just a guac.
But, you know, you would normally do it in a food processor.
But I'm doing it like this because I like it.
I'm going to make it a little bit thinner so that...
And I really want that zucchini kind of blended in there, right?
We're going to put this, tomatoes.
Probably like a half a cup or a cup of cherry tomatoes.
Yeah.
And some garlic.
Some little cilantro.
I'll throw in some cilantro.
Bam.
Okay.
Let's see.
So I make it more into a dressing so that it can...
Because it's kind of a big salad, right?
And so I just put some on top.
Now, it's only a half an avocado in here.
So I...
Wow, nice.
It dresses the entire salad.
That looks incredible.
See, real food is so delicious.
What do you say to somebody watching?
Because so many people...
There's so much crap out there, right?
So much addictive, ultra processed crap.
And a lot of people can't get over these addictions, but they want to.
Any advice for like...
Yeah, it takes...
You got to just do it.
You got to just...
You have to fight those cravings and just do it in the beginning.
When you start adding real food
and you start adding things that are so nutrient dense with vitamins and minerals,
your body wants more of it.
And you eventually...
Your taste buds change.
And it changes so quickly.
People don't realize.
It's almost like you're digging a hole and you're like right there.
And you're like, forget it.
I'm not going to do this anymore.
But you got here and you just didn't go that extra step.
So it takes a couple of weeks.
Your taste buds change.
My husband's taste buds change so much.
And he could never eat anything without salt.
And he started doing it.
I started making him things, putting more like garlic and some spices in it and things like that.
He doesn't eat salt anymore.
He's like, wow, how did I ever eat that?
How fast did that happen?
Maybe a couple of weeks.
So yeah, I think that do things that you like.
Make smoothies that make fruit.
A lot of times fruit is...
People eat a lot of fruit in the beginning to...
Or even throughout their whole entire journey, right?
They're eating a lot of fruit.
But it's so worth it.
It's so worth it.
You know, it's such a different life.
And most people don't even realize how they feel.
Like, you know, I have people telling me that they feel amazing.
And I'm watching what they're eating.
I'm like, no, you don't.
You just don't know that you don't.
You think you feel amazing.
And yeah, I just say this lifestyle has changed my life.
And you know, I would never go back.
That's the best.
Okay, so moment of truth.
We'll taste test this delicious, delicious looking.
Let me see.
Salad.
I love what I do.
You get a little bit of sprouts.
And cheers.
That's good.
So fresh, right?
This is so good.
That's delicious.
And it's only a half an avocado.
That's all you need.
That's so good.
Oh, wow.
Good job.
Okay.
All right, what's next?
Some ice cream thing you drink every day?
Well, I don't drink it every day.
Sometimes I do just fruit.
Yep.
And I was making a lot of smoothies, but I realized I don't really like smoothies.
I do try and get a tablespoon or two of flax every single day in something I eat.
So if I don't get it in something else, I like it over what I'm about to show you now,
which is an ice cream protein, which I like to do in the summer.
If you do it in the winter, you'll freeze to death.
You can't do it.
It's so cold.
And it fills this whole thing up.
So it's like it takes a while to eat.
It's very filling.
And it's so simple.
So simple.
This sounds good.
An ice cream protein.
So I usually, I was doing almond milk.
But what I found when I talked to my good friend, Chad, GPT.
My new good friend, too.
He told me that in the Nama milk maker, when you make almond milk, that one cup,
the way I was making it, has like 12 to 13 grams of fat.
Whoa, yeah.
And I'm like, oh my gosh, all this time I'm telling people I'm low fat.
I wasn't.
Yeah.
I was online.
So I changed it.
And so I don't know if I have enough here with this.
So what I changed it to is flax milk.
And now I'm getting the essential fatty acids.
And it's just much less fat.
Omega-3s and less fat.
How much flax do you put in to make it?
You know what?
I'll put the recipe I use on the screen right now for my flax milk.
Because it's on my phone.
But it's like ground flax, chia, and it's really good.
Oh, OK.
OK.
Yeah.
All right.
So I do.
That's good.
That's perfect.
Perfect.
OK.
One cup of flax.
I usually use a banana and a half.
And this is going to turn into ice cream?
That's right.
My creamy magic ice cream maker.
This is a good idea.
Protein.
We got to get Deb on YouTube.
I keep telling her.
Tell me in the comments.
Do you guys think she should start a channel?
Because I do.
I actually take lettuce because I like to throw in minerals
wherever I can fit them in anything I'm doing.
I just throw in some lettuce.
Especially if you do romaine with spinach, you're not going to taste it.
No.
OK.
And what's the biggest mistake you've made in 24 years raw?
Eating an enormous amount of fat.
OK.
Yeah.
I eat too much fat.
I got to cut it back.
Yeah.
And that was not good.
It was not feeling good.
OK.
So I also use a Lube Corona protein powder.
I put in two scoops because that's a serving.
Two scoops, not one.
So I put in two scoops and voila.
I'll show you.
Now I'm just going to blend this first.
OK.
I pour this into this container that comes with the ice cream maker.
My daughter uses this ice cream maker.
I've never used it.
I'm excited to see what you do.
So we have this and then we take this and just put it in the freezer.
OK.
So I'm going to do that.
And now in the magic of videoing, it's done.
Just like that, you guys.
Overnight.
Oh, look at that.
We're back.
So then what I do, here is the Ninja ice cream maker.
My favorite thing in the entire world.
And you just pop it in here.
Put this on.
Stick it in.
Turn it on.
Full.
It's going to make lots of noise.
OK.
Protein ice cream.
This looks incredible.
Wow.
Oh, my gosh.
This actually looks really good.
This is a brilliant idea.
It's very good.
You just made this on your own?
Yeah.
You know, just talented like that.
And so I like to you can put anything in it.
And as a matter of fact, they have a button on here that you can mix in.
So if you want chips, you know, I don't do that.
But if you want, you know, granola or anything, you just put it back in and spin it on.
Like a cow nips or something.
You just spin it on mixing.
OK.
So this looks really good.
Oh, wow.
Good, right?
That's really good.
I always say like, oh, this is good.
It's like you don't even you don't even.
Oh, my gosh.
You don't need sweeteners.
You don't need.
I love it.
I did not think it would be anywhere near this good.
Let's see.
I do it.
I do it so much.
It's delicious.
And on a hot summer and you're sitting outside, you just feel like you're eating ice cream.
And it's healthy.
You know, because everybody's saying, where do I get my protein?
This is protein.
Yeah, right.
Exactly.
And I don't do it every day.
I mean, obviously, I get enough protein from just my sprouts and the greens and everything
else that I'm eating.
But sometimes I look on chronometer and it's not exactly perfect.
And I'm like, well, protein shake it is, you know.
OK, well, let's see what's next.
I'm sure it gets better and better around here.
All right.
So the long anticipated cheesecake.
This is Deb's one of her most famous desserts ever.
So you often make this if you're going somewhere or something.
Yes, I don't eat it.
I never make it for myself anymore because I don't do oil, salt or sugar.
OK.
But if I go to a party, I bring this cheesecake.
And last year I had to make two of them when I went to Karen Ranzi's Thanksgiving party.
Fabulous.
We have fun every year.
But I had to make two of them because everybody waits for it.
They get very excited for this cheesecake.
So, yeah.
Well, we're honored you're going to share the recipe with us.
So usually you stop with the salad.
You end the day with the salad.
I end the day with the salad.
And that's not to say that some days when I'm stressed out, I continue.
But never like I'll eat like a box of dates with coconut.
I've done that.
I don't do that really anymore.
But not that bad.
Yeah.
But yeah.
So sometimes I have some figs or something.
I try and do proper food combining.
But when I got into trying that, I said, well, I already had the fat in the salad.
So I'll eat nuts.
And then it got like that was very bad.
Like it was a bad choice.
It would have been.
It's better for me to not.
You know, a lot of people don't even believe in the food combining anyway.
You know, they say that you have digestive enzymes that digest
carbs and fat and everything at the same time.
It's not like one.
True.
But I do feel better when I do properly combine.
OK.
I do intermittent fast.
Like you stop eating at a certain time.
Yes.
I normally stop by 4 or 4.30.
OK.
I read Paul Nissan's book years and years ago when it first came out.
The Daylight Diet.
My favorite book of all time.
Changed my life the most out of any other book that I ever read.
I'll try to put that down below for you guys.
Yeah.
The Daylight Diet.
I don't even think it's in print anymore.
But it was it's so simple.
It's stop eating when the sun goes down.
Yeah, exactly.
And I don't like to change things.
I don't like to change routines.
So in the summer, the sun goes down much later.
Right.
But I just kept it the same in the winter and summer.
I just stopped at 4.30.
And I've been doing that for 20 years.
OK.
You know, at least 20 years.
Makes a difference.
Yeah, a big difference.
Yeah.
Then you actually sleep and repair and heal, rejuvenate.
You're not just working on digestion when you're sleeping.
Right, right.
Well, let's get into this.
This looks insane.
So what is this?
And take us through.
So here it is.
My famous cheesecake that even people who make fun of me like.
And then I have to tell them it's raw.
And they're like, no way.
It's like, all right, well, I have a different outlook on raw foods now.
So even though I don't really eat this anymore, I do bring it to parties whenever I go.
OK.
So the first thing is we're going to make the crust.
And so that's a cup of pecans.
OK.
And a cup of almonds.
Yeah.
These actually, you know, they started pasteurizing all the almonds.
And so these are actually unpasteurized.
It's one of the few places that I found that are reasonably priced that I can get them.
And they are raw and organic and unpasteurized.
OK.
So they're the real deal.
Well, you're going to be eating some cheesecake now that we have this one and this one.
I know, I know.
Well, I would try not to, but it's not going to happen.
I can tell you that right now.
OK.
And so in the crust, there's also a half a cup.
I'm just going to do this.
Don't worry, I keep washing my hands.
No, it's OK.
Well, I know.
I can't.
So a half a cup of raisins.
A half a cup of raisins.
OK.
And throw in a little extra for good luck, because that wasn't a full half a cup.
We'll put in some more.
And also a half a cup of dates, some of you have realized.
You know, those have always been one of my favorite raisins.
OK.
Organic Thompson seedless raisins.
They look, they smell good.
OK, so we're going to do this.
This cake smells good.
I don't want to have a piece because I know what's going to happen.
I know, because you don't feel as good eating stuff like that.
You just, it looks delicious.
And now I'm going to, so I'm doing a half a cup of dates also.
And of course, that's going to make it stick together better.
And what I like is you're saying this recipe is simple.
It's like simple, easy.
Yeah, it is very, very simple.
You'll see even the cheesecake itself, when you taste it,
it's just kind of unbelievable that it actually tastes like that.
Dates and a tiny touch of nutmeg.
But I don't like nutmeg too much.
So I literally just put in a tiny, tiny bit.
OK.
OK, so you blend it until it's pretty sticky.
Oh, look, smoking.
Oh, look, it's on fire.
OK.
All righty.
And I wash my hands.
You know your hands are clean.
Don't worry.
Yeah, because I don't know how to do things without using my hands.
It's good to connect with the food anyway.
OK, so this is the crust.
I don't know why I have to do this.
I can make it into a perfect ball.
Really?
No, it's not really.
Yeah.
It's just that I'm like, I have certain things that I do.
OK, there we go.
There it is.
No.
So then we just smash it down until it's even.
OK.
Goes pretty quickly.
Nice and soft.
There we go.
OK.
Wow, that was easy.
All right, so now you're going to make the center part.
Right, we're going to make the actual cheesecake itself.
OK.
And so we have four cups of cashews.
Normally, I soak them overnight and then I put them in the freezer for like 20 minutes
before I actually put it in here.
OK.
But I've done it without and it's fine.
OK, good to know.
So we've got one, two, count along, everyone.
Three and OK, four cups of cashews.
So then we have a half a cup of lemon juice.
OK.
I don't know how this tastes like cheesecake, but it does.
Wow.
I think it must be the combination with the lemon juice, I guess, and the cashews or whatever.
I'm so excited.
Stay for the taste test, you guys.
I can't wait.
Oh, yeah.
OK, a half a cup of dark maple syrup.
Well, I guess you could use any maple syrup that you want.
OK.
I have no patience when it comes out slow.
OK, there we go.
OK, maple syrup.
And again, I don't really this is not in my daily.
Yeah, it's a trend.
Coconut sugar is also a half a cup of raw coconut sugar.
OK, all righty.
And oh, yeah, this is a big fat.
No, no.
But a cup of coconut oil for the best.
You know, look at how big the cheesecake is.
It's huge.
So you're not really going to.
Exactly.
Let me just scoop out.
And for you, what are the top three benefits of being raw?
I would say the energy, the clarity of my brain.
And I get to eat a lot more.
I like food.
I get to eat a lot more food all the time.
And my weight seems to stay exactly the same.
Well, all the time for 24 years, I weigh exactly the same thing.
I hardly weigh myself.
But when I do, I'm always like, oh, look at that.
Yeah, the same.
OK, and even when I'm doing that crazy binging thing because I'm out of control.
Yeah, I still weigh the same.
Yeah.
Well, it's like because I'm not like going off of raw.
Yeah, exactly.
OK, so coconut oil.
We got a teaspoon of sea salt.
OK.
Sometimes I leave it out.
Do you need a teaspoon?
Yeah.
Oh, here they are.
I have it here.
OK.
You started looking in jars.
You would never have it in there.
OK, a teaspoon of sea salt, a teaspoon of vanilla.
I use the vanilla powder because I can't find one that doesn't have alcohol in it.
Four teaspoons of psyllium, which is one tablespoon and one teaspoon.
OK.
And that is it.
OK.
Now, somehow when we blend this, magic happens and it turns into a cheesecake.
OK.
All right.
So here is the finished.
OK.
And like Debbie said, usually she soaks the cashews.
We didn't have time today.
So when you guys do it, soak the cashews because the consistency is a little off because we
didn't do that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It could be a little off.
Yeah, it still looks good to me.
Oh, smell it.
Oh, wow.
Why does it smell like cheesecake?
It does.
I don't know why.
OK.
So we're just going to put this in here.
It looks so good.
Now, when we get to the topping, you can do anything you want.
I used to make it just plain.
But then, you know, you can even make a chocolate topping.
Like you can do strawberry.
I like the blueberry on it.
So I did that one with blueberry.
So then when people put the top, do they have to put this in the fridge?
OK.
So you're going to put this in the fridge for a couple of hours till it gets hard first
because otherwise you're not going to be able to spread it.
And then you put the topping.
Right.
And you put the topping on.
I also then blend.
Sometimes I take coconut and I blend it with some date sugar.
OK.
And I sprinkle that over the top.
OK.
And that's what that is.
That looks nice.
And then some pecan.
Yeah.
And then some pecans.
Oh, this looks great.
You can get really creative and you can put any kind of topping on that you want, you know?
OK.
We don't want to waste any.
Doug, usually this is his job where he comes out and starts licking the utensils.
And the rest of this stuff out of here.
Good enough.
OK.
And that's it.
And we're going to put that in the fridge.
OK, perfect.
I think that was pretty explanatory.
I think you guys understand.
Get creative with the toppings.
Yeah.
And well, can we taste test it?
Yes, we can.
Let's taste test.
So I forgot.
So we put it in the freezer, not the fridge.
Yes.
OK.
Put it in the freezer.
For how long?
A couple hours before I would actually, you know, want to put the topping on.
OK, perfect.
All right.
The moment of truth.
We're all going to taste this epic cheesecake.
Thank you, Debbie.
Oh, wow.
This looks insane.
OK.
Oh, wow.
It tastes exactly like cheesecake.
Why?
I don't know.
Whoa.
20 out of 10.
That is so good.
Isn't that ridiculous?
That's ridiculous.
This is exactly why we started.
I've opened up my fat.
Back on the fats.
This is the best cheesecake I've ever had.
Thank you.
Me too.
And I've had a lot of cheesecake as a New Yorker.
But this cheesecake.
Yeah.
Got it.
I know.
It's crazy.
Ain't got no cheese.
It tastes like cheesecake.
I know.
Oh, my.
So you were saying, too, though, usually you do low fat.
So you do thrive and feel better low fat, right?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Of course.
OK.
But if I'm at a party or video for Jillian, I eat cheesecake.
Wow.
OK.
Sugar, salt, oil.
Any words to end off?
Any health advice or anything that comes to mind?
Where can everybody find you?
Do you want people to follow you on Instagram or are you like low key?
You don't want that.
It's not that I don't want it.
It's just that I got off of doing any of that stuff a long, long time ago and just haven't
started it again.
But people are finding me and sending me asking me questions and stuff, which I'm answering
just from the first video.
And so, yeah, I'll put it down below.
And any favorite quote or anything to end off with any advice for somebody out there,
you know, raw foods or anything that comes to mind?
And same with you, Scott.
You have great advice, too.
Yeah, I guess I would say that it's really food is foremost.
It's very, very important.
But it's not just about the food.
You know, it's about where your mind is at and how you talk to your body, how you talk
to yourself.
And, you know, there's so much more breathing exercises, you know, getting enough sleep.
There's so much more to it.
So you can do everything right, you know, with food and, you know, and still not be
thriving.
The biggest thing is that we have to realize that we can control so much more of our lives
than we even realize.
And we literally only have to find it inside ourselves.
You know, I thank God every day for everything that I have.
And you have to be grateful no matter what you're going through.
Be great.
Find something to be grateful for us.
Find something to be happy for and laugh a lot.
Even when things don't seem funny, put on something to make you laugh.
Because I think this is the most healing thing in the entire world that we have is ourselves,
our body and love.
Of course.
And you guys have all the love.
I love it.
I feel just happier being around you guys.
Yeah.
I love you guys.
And thanks for welcoming us into your home.
Of course.
Anytime.
Any words for you to end off with, Doug?
Any words of inspiration for the crowd?
Because how have plants changed your life?
Anything?
Yes, it really changed me.
I'm just now, I drive by all those fast food restaurants.
I used to stop at all the time.
And I just, I realized how much better I feel.
And he just lost 110 pounds.
Wow.
No way.
You want to see pictures?
Used to be very hard to not stop at those restaurants all the time.
You see a sign, it would trigger you and say, oh.
And now, you know, I just feel so much healthier and just so grateful and glad that
I caught, you know, I caught the healthy lifestyle in time, you know.
And so now I just want to live it out and live out well the rest of the days that God allows me.
Very, very grateful.
I love you guys.
And any words from the legend?
Family, we're here on this earth.
But what you do with the time is the most important thing.
And it's not just living.
It's having quality of life.
When you're eating the raw lifestyle, it's a high quality of life, right?
Because a lot of people are living, but they're dying inside, right?
So you want to make sure that you increase your overall positivity.
Be around positive, you know, folks and individuals.
Friends that becomes like family.
Increase your overall serotonin levels.
Like Debbie said, laugh, you know, go out there and laugh, you know, love life.
And also eat plants and eat fruits.
Why?
Because that increase your natural serotonin levels, which is the happy hormone.
And a happy life is a healthy life.
So yeah.
I love that.
Everybody go follow Scott and over here.
Stop down below for anybody who wants to go follow Debbie.
