Ukrainian forces are intensifying attacks on the enemy's rear. Defenders are already successfully striking enemy targets at depths of up to 100 kilometers.

Brigadier General Yevgeny Lasiychuk, commander of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps, spoke about this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine .

According to him, Ukrainian defenders are already actively using mid-range drones. "Let's take the example of the middle strike and deep strike today: Moscow is burning – that's a good thing! As for our corps and corps, our weapon is a middle strike. It's standard equipment, and we're already using it," Lasiychuk said. The general noted that middle-strike is already the present and future of the Ukrainian troops. He predicted that this system will only grow stronger and be implemented in every unit with each passing day. "What does it allow us to do? More effectively detect and destroy the enemy in the rear, at certain distances deep within their lines. We're trying to block all their advance routes leading to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, keeping them completely under control," said the commander of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps.

According to Lasiychuk, Ukraine is also increasing the depth of its attacks and is now capable of reaching approximately 100 kilometers from the front line. Attacks are being carried out against enemy command posts, areas, and concentrations.

The exact types and names of the drones Ukrainian forces are using to strike the enemy's operational depths are not being disclosed. As the general noted, the military "has its own little secrets" regarding these weapons. In the past month, Ukraine’s unprecedented drone campaign has been extraordinary in scale and impact.

On a single night last week, Russia reported intercepting 660 drones across 12 regions — one of the largest Ukrainian attacks since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022.

The targets, far from random, are carefully selected: refineries, oil terminals, naval vessels, weapons plants deep inside Russian territory. It is a campaign designed to bleed the Russian war economy, raising the economic and political costs to the Kremlin of further prosecuting its war. And it is working.

Across Russia, independent media outlets have been documenting growing lines of vehicles waiting at fuel stations as shortages kick in — scenes the authorities would prefer to hide. In Crimea, annexed from Ukraine in 2014, fuel sales were suspended as the peninsula was placed under a state of emergency. Even for the Kremlin, which often plays down painful setbacks, the stark reality has become hard to sidestep.

Russian President Vladimir Putin chaired an emergency meeting at the weekend and disclosed that national gasoline reserves have been drawn down to uncomfortable levels. There were other indications that the Kremlin is feeling some pressure.
