German GM38 Gas Mask

German GM38 Respirator/Gas mask from World War Two, the GM38 was the first German military mask to be made entirely from rubber as opposed to the earlier masks which were a canvas material that was coated to become impermeable.
As a result the GM38 masks have aged far better than masks like the GM30 that tend to dry out and fall apart over time.
The GM38 like the GM30 was an early mask to take screw filters which was a very advanced feature for the time and something all modern masks have since used, however other parts of the mask are far less clever, such as the awkward and inefficient strap system.

I obviously cannot test the mask due to it being smaller than my head and in poor condition.
