In part 1 of this series we covered the opening stage of the Third Punic War. In part 2 we covered the ensuing Siege of Carthage as the legions descended on Africa to take the city by force. Yet while they thought it would be a simple affair, what followed would be a brutal siege that dragged on for nearly 4 years. This would begin with a combined land and sea assault against the triple walls of Carthage.
