Food, Beach & Entertainment at VIVA HEAVENS by Wyndham Puerto Plata | Honest Review 2026

We're in Porta Plata at the Viva Heavens by Wyndham and I went all in. Every restaurant, the beach, the entertainment. This is my honest take. Today we're getting up for our first morning here at the Viva Heavens. We're gonna have some breakfast. I'm gonna bring you guys to the breakfast buffet for you guys to see how it is. One thing I can say about this place, it's clean in here. So as you step in, there's a section that has bread. You could toast your bread right here. A good amount of variety. That actually looks really good. You have donuts, you have banana bread, a lot of different pastries here. Over here you have scrambled eggs. This thing says plantains or mango banana. I'm not sure what that is. That's some Dominican stuff. Then you have the German sausage. You have potatoes. The selection is not so bad. It's not so bad. And then you have your pancakes. Your waffles right here. Not a bad selection at all. And this is your fruit corner. Pineapples. You have watermelon. You have papayas. And then you have banana over here. I gotta get me a banana. I love a Caribbean banana. A banana that looks not perfect is a real banana. Not the perfect ones you see in North America that doesn't have any scratches. Alright, let's go over this section and see. They have fried salami and they also have sausage over here. Boiled egg. And then over here, there's a croissant. Nice selection. Nice selection and it's super clean in this place. Super clean in here. Not a bad resort. And the workers, they're nice. Strong coffee? Black. Black. Strong. Very strong. Thank you. So this is my plate. I had a banana, watermelon. I had pineapple and I have papaya as well. And a sausage and eggs. And I got some coffee. Let me try these eggs and see how it is. Oh nice. Eggs are good. Sausage is good too. The food, it tastes real. It can taste like that raw organic tasting egg and the sausage. So different. Let me try the fruits. Holy. Pineapple is sweet. Very sweet. Where I live in Canada, on the shelves, you cannot find a banana that's like have these spots on it. It's considered not good. This is how you know this is a real banana. It's imperfect. Imperfection is a good thing sometimes. Can't be perfect. Nobody is. The Italian restaurant at the Viva, Wyndham. It's so good. Trying the tiramisu. Let's see how it tastes. This is delicious. Everything at this Italian restaurant so far is scrumptious. I enjoyed it. Saffrit is the resort's Dominican restaurant and this one I'd actually recommend. Traditional Dominican flavors, good energy and it tends to fill up. So that tells you something. I'm taking your recommendation. Stew beef with beans, with rice. Is that one good? Or this one is the best one? It's better. I know you know better. I'm taking your recommendation for everything. Thank you, sir. So excited. I can't wait. This rum and coke, I told him very strong and it's very, very strong. Mi amigo, you recommended the best for me. Thank you. Thank you. Appreciate it. Trying the appetizer. I don't know if I'm a big fan of the appetizer to be honest. I'm not a big fan of the appetizer. So I just got my main course. Let me try my main course and see how it is. All right. They heard me. They heard me. They heard that I didn't like the appetizer. It's amazing. So good. And I love how they stock it up with veggies too. My main. This is amazing. So good. Blend is their international fusion restaurant. I went with the grilled salmon. It was decent. Did the job. Dessert was on the lighter side. Nothing too crazy. It's a solid option for dinner, especially with the atmosphere around you. If you're traveling with the little ones, they have a kids club called Vivita's It runs daily from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. The beach isn't right outside your door. You gotta walk about three to five minutes depending on your pace. But honestly, I didn't mind. The path feels like a little jungle walk. There's actually scenery along the way. Greenery all around. It's kind of a nice transition before you hit the sand. The beach was giving exactly what I wanted. Good water, no seaweed, plenty of cheers, and the bar was steps away. El Dorado Mall is literally three minutes walk from the resort. So I just arrived at the mall. It's literally three minutes walk from the resort.
