M&S CHRISTMAS & AUTUMN CAFE MENU | A rainy cosy day at home VLOG HAUL

It feels a very bizarre sat in this Rocking chair but facing the window because usually it's like facing into the room but I Wanted a bit of natural light just to start off today's vlog here Wasn't even necessarily planning on vlogging today. Hence the Scrape back hair. I've actually got a hair mask in you can't even see my hair against the black background because it is that Dark when I put a hair mask in can you see apart from obviously my gray streak? but I wanted to start the vlog here just because I have on the agenda today just a couple of housey bits. I thought it might be interesting to watch kind of in preparation things in preparation of autumn, which is fast approaching and Obviously, we're in september now. So I fully i'm embracing the cozy months as you guys know and Welcoming it with open arms, especially this year given that we are expecting our little christmas baby so all the more reason to get the house in order and start doing some housey bits today and I thought I would any kind of like summery bits take them down wreath on the door faux stems anything that is Giving summer We're gonna just pop I can't speak. We're just gonna box them away today and Uh, i'll get tom to help me get out some autumn decorations Start organizing some of those bits as well um What else is on the agenda today? I mean, I might even vlog over a couple of days So if there's any like outfit changes or anything like that, you know why this may be filmed over a couple of days It is forecast to be drizzly and rainy. So I feel like today is a day made for Getting the house organized We also very excitingly want to start prepping the nursery at the minute. It's a blank canvas It's an empty room, which has been really handy to start thinking about just storing things in there for now but I kind of don't want to store things in there like you can see in this room if I Show you i'm not sure you might be able to see back there. We've got the moses basket, which we uh built the pram And the pram can go really in the garage I suppose but The moses basket any kind of furniture items that we start buying I just don't really want to do anything in there until the the kind of like room itself is prepped and ready so for that We have on the agenda. I want to go to a carpet shop and look at Maybe replacing the carpet in that room to more of like a plush Carpet and i'm considering do we just change? All of the carpets upstairs Where the staircase gets heavy traffic? with barney and us, um I would have loved to have maybe just replaced that with the same again and even actually our bedroom has um quite a bit of wear again, it's probably just from having a dog and There's been accidents upset tummies you know, it's just a carpet that Sees a lot of use so one that I thought I just want to refresh definitely the nursery room anyway and um Have it more plush in there, but I thought if we're doing that Maybe we could have more plush in our bedroom as well and Then it also would make for a carpet that is easier to like have professional cleaners come in in future as and when we do Have spills and things like that if it's a carpet that we can maybe Have um, it's like safe to use like bleach products to get up stains and you know all of that kind of stuff So i'm considering what to do there Even if temporarily we maybe just replace the nurse you want to think about the hallway in the bedroom in future. I don't know Uh, I don't know I think my ideal would have been to Keep my filming room At the minute we've got the same carpet running throughout upstairs, which is cormar carpets in ledbury linen Which is a color that has since been Discontinued so we can't just simply replace a patch of it. That's the problem here I face because ideally I would have just replaced The staircase and then our bedroom and the nursery I would maybe replace both of those with the plush More comfortable kind of carpet as opposed to like a wool woven It's a bit more rough on your feet kind of carpet that um Is nice and I do like the look of it, but I just want that kind of like cozy feel so uh Yeah, so I want to go to a carpet shop to start thinking about that and then in terms of what we can do today With the nursery there's a crack that needs filling sanding painting. So I want to get Some paint I might have to repaint the whole room because it has been painted now for a few years And although I will get the paint that I had before it's not going to be the exact same because I had it color matched to lick white o3 so i'll get that one But it was a trade one that our bill our painters at the time Did at their trade shop, I don't know what they use. We don't have any spare left over So it's not like we can just touch up and even if we did just touch up It's been a few years now, so it might look a bit different. I don't know We'll see how we go with that. I will use lick white o3 though because I like that color We will hope that It's a good color match. If not, maybe just repaint that whole room in that color uh, so it's nice and creamy and light and Um ideal for maybe a few darker touches in terms of darker words i've seen a Cop that I really like the look of on zara home So I might go with that. I want to kind of measure up what's going where though before I buy any big furniture items And then once the painting and new carpets in Which new carpet will probably take a couple of weeks to get fit. Anyway, even if we were to get something today Um because that's just their kind of lead times, isn't it? Um And then we'll have painters come in and paint this room as well both these sides we're going to go with lick beige o1 I don't know if I keep saying beige o3 or beige o1 But it's the same color as our bedroom and I went downstairs in the storage room and I noticed a couple of tins left Over and it's beige o1 that is in our bedroom. So i'm going to continue that probably in here As a kind of family playroom just to brighten it up a bit It'll actually make it a lot easier to film in here I'm, not just gonna be like floating head. The plan was actually to go to arthur swallow's antiques fair But we've been in the past On a rainy drizzly day and it's ended up being like hardly any stalls there compared to when it's a sunny day And my intention was to go and maybe look at sourcing Uh some drawers or a changing unit or something like that for the nursery that would um fit the nursery theme but yeah, I just I feel like it's not worth because obviously you have to pay to go And I just know what it's been like in the past when it's been raining and drizzling so that was on the agenda For today's vlog, but like I said, it's ended up being A rainy cozy day at home sleep back here get some housey jobs done So I thought i'd still pick up the camera. Anyway, we're actually starting this morning with a round of golf I won't be playing haven't been playing for months now Not that i've ever really played much before anyway But I definitely was more of a play for fun kind of player whereas tom Has really enjoyed his golf lately and he takes barney as well. We play at northenden golf club and Um, so we're gonna head over there this morning first thing get barney walked Give him a run around some fresh air. We're going to maybe take some snacks like some breakfasty bits and then Head back get some jobs done uh We'll see how much I end up vlogging today I will wash my hair at some point within this video and hopefully Bit more presentable and then we have also got a slow Cook recipe In the oven tom's prepping that so that when we get back later on well We'll get back this afternoon, but later on this evening. We can have a nice yummy dinner some kind of lamb dish he's been cooking with Majore rice, I think it's called. I don't know i'll show it to you later, but a nice cozy wholesome home cooked meal for this evening And we are even forecast thunderstorms which i'm really hoping for to get a little thunderstorm evening that would just sum up a perfect weekend day for me Our little golf picnic hamper tom's made a coffee to go. I grabbed one from the bakery our fave slash a can Already had our pan of shocks from there water treats for barn spare jumper We've got some sandwiches we made Tom's had chicken i've got cheese and celery Umbrella because it might start raining some little chicken snacks some dales for biscuits diet coke water for barney and some Salt and bigger big enough. I used to say that when I was little salt and big enough crisps What are you doing you cheeky boy come on in we go Triple bogey My little lunch time some eyes on me A rogue choice for cheese and celery delicious This is the life I don't usually get a bogey and it is blooming fantastic. Isn't it barney? It's easy peasy little Bump here He's been kicking a little bit Try to video it but you can't really tell because it's so small On camera more like externally, but internally I can feel it Anyway sandwich time meanwhile. I said the only thing is i'd have the full lot covered in chocolate i'm going to say a 7.5 i've organized all of my More new in bits for this year as um without having got out the previous year's decorations just yet But i've bought these tubs. They were I actually got a load off amazon um, why I say a load I got like five off amazon and then We went into aldi and noticed that they had some even cheaper So aldi if they've still got them if not I'll link the amazon ones on my amazon storefront, but they're so handy We use these like in our storage above the garage in the basement really good because they're clear they come with lids as well They're stackable. They're 80 liter storage tubs and they're just perfect for the fact that they're clear You can see exactly what's in them. You label them up if you want, but otherwise You can see what's in this one. We've got some halloween bits in here and here And then we're hosting a bit of a halloween party as well this year. So it'd be nice to um Start savoring these and popping them out. I want to pop them out in october nice and early so that we have a full month of Halloweeny decorations because I do like a bit of halloween. Um still fairly neutral, but Yeah, we've got a proper halloween in there. And then i've also got this section my new in purchases A massive wreath leaf wreath, which I showed you my last video. I think once it arrived. Oh, I just love it So that's to go on the front door once we decorate and that'll probably be Within my next couple of videos, I think and then we've got all of our uh, like our mine and yours new in this year Autumn decorations. We've got some home sense bits some b&m foliage some blankets some candles These classic Straws pumpkin straws who managed to get their hands on these from b&m this year. Um, so yeah, i'm just kind of like sectioning Well, i've just organized and put these to one side ready to decorate for when we do get around to decorating but before I do I want to bring out the Other tubs from the garage so that I can see exactly what autumn bits and bobs We've got to put out this year to be fair as well having thought about it I'm, probably not going to go overboard with decorating in this black front room I know I mentioned earlier that we're looking to have this room repainted. So at some point hopefully soon I'll need to clear out this room put the furniture in the middle cover everything up empty the bookcase So there's no point doing loads of decorating in here I'll pop up maybe a couple of bits until I know when we've got painters booked in to come and do this room Right, we're in the nursery And we are going to attempt to do a diy on this this um crack which has been here since well, it was here since we did the extension or the In fact, I think that happened when we were doing the underpinning. Do you remember in the basement? Here he goes We bought this filler to use as well as a little filler tool. Where is it? Here it is. Um, shall I get filling then? Yes boss a little fancy tool to Hold a sandpaper I've been told as an essential There we go Oh, that's quite satisfying, isn't it? Decorating a cake I think i'll be better at this than painting I should have maybe put some stuff down. Yeah, I think we should But you're getting rid of this anyway. Well, I am thinking about potentially changing the carpet bumpers out this This set is so comfy. It's from abercrombie, but it is quite long. So i've just Rolled it up. Um, I have got the trousers in an extra large so they are probably a bit big for me um, and then i've also got the T-shirt where it's been a bit warmer i've been wearing the t-shirt But for the moment i've got the long sleeve on very soft and comfy anyway Let's see how we're getting on but we also need see where when carpets join with a little Divide like this. We also have needed one on this section anywhere where it meets the bathroom so I thought if we go for a thicker plush and then like a A trim to be added there as well and then hopefully filling painting then I think we're going to leave it as that I'm going to remove this shelf as well Oh, actually, that's a good point need to remove this so we can fill the hole Dining for two tonight. This is why it said it'd be a good hosting dish, but thomas just cooked up a storm What's it actually called lamb? It is actually the next day Um, I didn't finish off the vlog yesterday. Um, but we did manage to get quite a bit done in terms of Sorting the nursery bits out that we wanted to do the color match of the paint was a good color match. So we'll maybe Give another coat today or at some point and then It's sorted. I'm just gonna put on a little bit of makeup today. I've got a bit of editing to do this morning. However For lunch, I thought we could go out and treat ourselves to a little solo lunch date at m&s because I saw on their socials last night I was in bed and I was flicking through and I was looking at instagram and they have Bought out their christmas snacks We just show you this product because I really wanted to come on now and talk to you about this because i've been loving it It's from road and it's in the shade It's their highlight milk in shade one And I just pour a bit in my hand Like that Rub my palms together And just kind of pat it into my skin and it really it leaves like a really nice sheen It's a highlight milk that's exactly how I would describe it. It's a very milky like texture just kind of absorbs straight into your skin And leaves a really nice kind of highlighted Sheen to your face. So even if you're having like a no makeup day, this could give you a really nice glow However, I am putting on some makeup. So i'm going to go in with a flawless filter And my bb cream a little combo that I tend to do most days in shade two sometimes I wear 2.5 but I've been wearing two. Anyway, M&S. Yeah, they brought out their christmasy snacks And I thought we could just have a little look they might have even brought out their cookies The gingerbread and white chocolate ones, which I could get as a little treat for later But I also have seen in their cafe I don't know if they're out already or they're bringing them out. But like I said treating myself for lunch I love their toasties anyway or soups. Um So I thought we could go and have a little look at M&S but I think they're bringing out or have brought out Uh, yorkshire pudding wraps and I never tried one last year because I think they did bring them out last year and I never tried one so I'm feeling like a yorkshire pudding wrap for lunch today. I will Believe you this morning whilst i'm sat at my laptop. That's not much fun for vlog footage Getting a load of editing done this morning and then I will Pick you guys up again when we head out for some nice yummy lunch. Okay, we're here I think i'm actually gonna head straight to the cafe because I am hungry I'm, actually just on route in but i've just seen this trench coat, which is nice. It's like a satin fabric I saw this jacket as well Oh, wow, that's so soft They've definitely had a bit of a sort through since I was last in where there's less sail bits now and it's more New and autumn bits love that skirt Got that same color in the trousers and how gorgeous is that bag as well? 36 love these rich burgundy tones seeing them everywhere actually a little pouch clutch over there as well Nice to dress up for an evening movie 65 that one but I have to pass the baby section on route to the cafe And we've got some of the cutest little things about for halloween Gorgeous I feel like a bit boy though, so I don't know Obviously what we're having yet, although that one's cute. How gorgeous this This little set noughts for three months that comes with the hat as well Little cable net for a winter baby. Oh my goodness. So cute 18 pounds for that little ghostie Again good for halloween Halloween outfit, right Uh, i'm actually gonna give it to go am I No, i'll get eaten, but I want the coffee in it to go What's new? See, these are the coffees that I want, but I want it in a to-go cup And then pulled pork yorkshire pudding or chicken yorkshire pudding, I think pulled pork I've also got gingerbread and white chocolate cookies So hoping this is a sign for the bakery to have some in stock fingers crossed And then for coffee i'm going to go for one of these new ones these creamy hazelnut lattes This looks pretty yum loads of gravy, which is what I like to see Right Really good and then my coffee has just arrived with loads of cream on top I feel like very underrated the M&S PJs. They're so good. I've got quite a few now Um, but the quality and everything this set is gorgeous with a little fitted long sleeve And matching trousers or shorts if you prefer more of a short sleeve for myself but for lounging in Love those. Okay, quick look through the homeware as well They've got some gorgeous things in this aesthetic is very me loving the vibes the dark wood the chrome silver Cafetiere, which is 25 pounds is nice. And then even these like measuring jugs slash. Well, I say measuring jugs. They're actually not they're just Pourer bowls Love that set of two four There you go ceramic mixing bowls 30 pounds quite like the glassware that they've got You see how it's got like a bubble bobbled effect to it. And then that's the matching Tumblers while they are thick and heavy. It's a nice autumn. Oh, wow. How nice is that cushion? I actually think that's more I would say Summer appropriate spring summer. They have got still like a few lemon tones running through the shop but even like into mustard and this lime green Can you see up there as well? But then yeah, obviously they've got it kind of like mixed in with all of the warm autumn tones as well the greens the rust and if ever i've seen a chop taken to the extreme whoever's chopped that has Chopped that cushion this coffee by the way is going down an absolute treat the hazelnut the nuttiness With the cream on top i'm a fan. Oh look at this. It's kind of like an um vase 15 pounds. That's not bad. Is it? Not that really pretty. I remember from last year, of course the classics i've also got a Pistachio star again another classic the tree decorations and how nice is that little gingerbread truck with the mini shortbreads in And there's also a santa jack-in-a-box up there too. And then all of well, in fact, they've got more christmas over there Oh, what's that? malt caramel and milk chocolate cookie pies There's only a couple boxes left of them. I bet they're gonna be popular the rodney reindeer pies Classic for anyone that doesn't really like mince pies. Oh, yeah the gender-neutral lovers come to tesco's Bear club this one 16 pounds a little knit set that comes with booties and a little hat I wonder if there's 25% off the kids wear as well So i'm just in the homeware and I know the pumpkin shaped, um Cake stand from b&m sold out really quickly. This isn't necessarily pumpkins White shaped but very similar. This is a nice little apple wooden dish With the brass eight pounds. They do have this which I would say is more pumpkin. Yeah pumpkin brown glaze mug four pounds They've got this color Which I think is my favorite but then they also have a lighter color as well Side by side 12 pounds this I would definitely be tempted but unfortunately, it's too small for our table, but that linen kind of natural color and the olive green Would be gorgeous at um this time of the year. I'm gonna look at some more Homeware bits and i've just spotted this which is really nice at 10 pounds this Seagrass vase where i've shown others before this one's a really dark brown Which I think is a nicer tone for this time of the year Oh, that's very similar to my white company one Is this a new freedom and fadden? So any other mamas to be out there get your hands on these they're from a brand called soon Maternity i'm going to show you them Gutted i've just spilled some coffee down them in the m&s cafe So i'm gonna have to try and get that out, but let me show you can you see there on the leg how annoying Anyway, there's no Okay, so there is an elasticated waist that goes all the way around but there's no belly band. There's no big panels There's no adjustment needed. It's just a really stretchy very comfortable Proper jean that's not tight on the legs. It's a really nice length a good wide fit so that I wear my like birkenstocks with these and Because I always feel like my birkenstock clogs need a wider leg bottom rather than a cropped jean And these are perfect. They're a really nice fit. They're so comfortable I've got plenty of room to grow with these as well. I did size up to a They've come from australia And they're not the cheapest But I definitely will be able to wear these postpartum as well put them in an Australian 14 now. I don't 100% know the sizing Like the australian size and by the way, you don't have to have belly out You could easily have a top that kind of goes a bit longer or even a bodysuit Or if you wanted to like hide the elasticated bit just have a longer top Um like that, but yeah, I absolutely love them gutted. This is the first wear as well Yeah, i'm not 100 sure an australian size. I think it might be just the same as the Uk sizes, so if that is the case, then i've got a uk 14 And I have to admit walking around the shops. They were a little big for me. I was Like I did pull them up a couple times. You can stay true to size where I think a 12 would have been fine However, I know i'm only going to get bigger. So I do feel like I don't regret getting the 14 um if I was to buy more then I would maybe even get one in each size But it that is a bit unnecessary. Um, so I found a pair of maternity jeans that I love These will continue me on throughout autumn and winter. I know it And yeah, i'm just so happy. I finally found a pair that are comfortable that fit that are stretchy without a big belly band or big elasticated panels on the sides, so I don't know what that was. I've got the um My french market suede bag on with I have matching suede Birkenstock clogs my uh, built-in support vest top from Abercrombie love these and a little uh I've actually been living in this since I bought I put in a big Abercrombie haul with loads of basics I showed it in a video recently where I got I stuck up on loads of baby tees I actually want to get some more now that i've found a pair of jeans that I like I want some The baby tees kind of sit there And that would be full belly button and everything out So I quite like a couple of t-shirts that are a bit more long line that I could wear with these jeans throughout autumn Even long sleeve ones as well Anyway, i'm waffling I Have got two items from Tesco's the first being I definitely need to get more things this size. So the up to one month. I've got one to three months Haven't really got any newborn. I've got like a couple of newborn items. I'm just picturing us having a big baby I don't know why so I don't want to go overboard with newborn Because that's usually around seven seven and a half pounds and under up to a month is more like 10 pound babies which I think I came out about Nine pounds tom was similar. So Good luck for me, although to be fair this baby seems to be measuring bang on like the middle centile or whatever it's called i'm due a Midwife appointment soon where they then start measuring from your belly, which I always find a mad concept but anyway, we'll see what they say in that and See my progress along the way and then justify whether or not I need more newborn bits if baby's measuring small Tiny baby even or stick to the up to one month, which I definitely would need more of anyway, because baby is gonna grow Anyway, this set for 10 pounds. I thought was perfect. Anyway, I've also got these to try just a little snack cheese and onion panna fromage Sounds good We've got some yogurt for breakfast some speaking of breakfast I did treat myself to a little I might even have this as a dessert tonight but an apple crumble overnight oats i'm loving overnight oats at the minute and we've been making it on batch recipes and having it for breakfast every morning, so A really healthy way to do it because when you look at the pre-done ones which I know i've just bought some bit of a hypocrite here, but the things that they add in Are not ideal really but like this one for instance water oats apples yogurt broad bean protein apple juice honey wheat flour chia seeds unsalted butter Corn flour date puree lemon juice. Actually, that's not too bad sea salt ground cinnamon. This isn't too bad at all But there are some that will have loads of like rapeseed oil loads of sugar like high sugar content In fact, let's see how much sugar is in this Yeah, 9.3 grams. That's not too bad. When you look at the tom's looking at the prep one the prep one is What did he say 30 grams of sugar in it or something like that? I think the gales one I really like Is about 12 grams of sugar whereas the one that we do It's just a drizzle of honey that we add so it's however much sugar we want to add to sweeten it anyway i'm rambling Speaking of sugar again hypocrite because I also got these which are loaded with sugar and I have zero regrets or guilt when eating these so Gingerbread and white chocolate they're back Oh, they're so nice. I think it's forecast to get a bit drizzly again this evening which is like the ultimate excuse for a chilled relaxed pj movie night After a yummy dinner, which tom has cooked so i'll show you that later I think in my opinion one of the most wholesome Dinners for this time of year when it's starting to get a bit cooler Is a lasagna and tom has made us you've actually batch cooked it haven't you so we've got plenty in the freezer as well Maybe prepping ideas for what we're going to batch cook when baby arrives. We need some more suggestions actually of um meal ideas because we quite like the idea of having Meal prep done in the freezer Obviously given it's christmas as well. I feel like it'll just be A busy time of year that just to have everything pre-done and in the freezer individually portioned Would be ideal. I'm gonna have garlic bread Lasagna twice baked.
