So we're live, are we? We're at BioAquatics.
I'm with Andres, and this is his beautiful farm,
and he's in there right now catching some fish for an order,
and I stopped up to pick up a few.
We'll have to wait for him to get finished.
Been sitting on 75 for an hour there. Traffic
completely blocked southbound it's
not moving anywhere i don't see that anyone is here let's
see toronto's here and mary's
here there are a few let's see
I don't have a lot of red points
okay mary page flynn lisa hi lisa
what are we into today well i'm
at bio aquatics bio aquatics is a
a wholesale farm, I mean a farm.
One of the top breeders in the country has this little operation
that is all him.
He's got two, actually three buildings
that he raises, and there he is.
There goes Andre.
He's catching fish, getting me some stuff.
I'm going to get in the shade here
where I can read the comments.
These vats are all breeder tanks.
I don't know if we can see into them or not.
Maybe a little bit,
but actually not bad.
There are six breeding stations in here.
They're about 18 inches apart.
And every, I don't know if you can see the babies.
Yeah, it's a pretty nice row.
How are you?
Good to see you.
It is a lot of work.
This is a very small part of this operation.
Let's go over here.
I think he's got a bunch of angels over here.
He's getting red points for me,
I believe, right now.
No, what's in there?
Tadpoles on the ground.
These are angels.
Koi, a few blacks, pretty koi.
More
angels.
Good luck, bro, with all that.
Are these red points in here?
I'll take some little ones if you do that.
Okay,
angels,
angels,
angels.
Oh yeah,
you gonna wholesale them out?
Yeah, but a lot of them are deformed
or you know, you gotta
go through them.
Pretty fish,
this is a combination
of two different species of fish in here, right?
There's three, there's Oscar, salvinis, and convicts.
Salvini, convict, and what's the third one?
Salvini, blue Oscars.
Oh, okay, there's salvini
and there's convict.
look better a little bit earlier on yeah
with a little sunlight on them really hot
just
getting
some
salvinie
for me oh
there's
a pretty
big fish a
couple of
them nice
at one
point i'm not going
to be using vessels like this get rid
of this use tanks right yeah Peplin hello
Peplin
Peplin Creek
let's see
who's here
Mary Page Ro
lisa we've got
those guys
logan's susan
little
ones will
be fine
okay it's
a large
one lovely
give me
a bunch of
rice fish
and then
i need
a few uh
african
cats
sometimes
yeah yeah
that's
fine oh 25
rice fish ah oh my so
he has lots and lots
of of um used tanks
a lot of these
are tanks that
he got from me which is what our deal is i come up
and get fish from him occasionally in exchange
for the the tanks that he's taken all of these 40s
are or tanks that i uh that i sold him as
well as these actually these 15s are as well i think all
of these are tanks from me including
the cubes and I didn't realize I'd given them
those cubes hmm only have a few of
them left so there's
a big tank farms
are funny places
they're typically
places where a lot of different kinds
of things are going on and it tends to look
chaotic but usually
the farmer knows precisely where everything is some nice
pieces
of wood here
let's see how
we're doing in
here yes you
did see corey
here perfect
yeah just
getting more fish more tanks i got probably
a lot of tanks coming probably another 50 tanks
oh really cool plus i'm going to set up all
those that are there right a big uh 400 whatever they're
yeah 350. so i've got to get those set up there's like 14
of those yeah just trying to grow more
breed more stuff and then the fish room back there
the corner room that's the plants oh okay i'll put
ac in there because i want to do mosses uh-huh i'll cool it down
because mosses do well at 78.
i've got a big chiller if you can use
a a big chiller yeah i'll have to see uh i'll have to
see it from inside what it looks like yeah how much power it needs
that kind of thing right right
Sinos in the back we're
not going to be able
to follow him in because
as you can see it's a metal
roof and want to get five feet in here the signal disappears
so i'm standing in the doorway right
now trying to keep an eye
on things let's see you know andres
is probably one of the he is one of
the top breeders in the country
and he only is interested in breeding oddball stuff that nobody
else is doing
so it's pretty neat how hard
is here whose kayak got
stolen boy it's hard to read
this tiny print oh i catch tiny fish lost
this kayak bummer long have i
been keeping fish
do a great job on how to keep fish
and plants i've been keeping fish i'm 79
been keeping fish since
i was 10 years old oregon
hi from oregon andre i
haven't talked to you in a
long time nice nice
to see you more tanks
right oh chris is here hi
chris nice to see you it's
kind of a an off-the-wall little production today i'm out
at bio aquatics with andres ryan
and he's getting some fish for me right now he's uh catching
a few cichlids and i got some
daisy rice fish and some red hondurans red point hondurans
so we'll take those back we've got a
couple of people asking about them
so here we are this is a beautiful piece of property
it it backs up to a state park that's all
state park there's wonderful big live oaks
surrounded
by big big old live
oaks pretty piece
of property
appreciate it
andres huh
can i give
you a handful
of this red root to throw
in something oh nice
can i put this in there
You're going to have to adapt it
because it's going to be full sun right now.
Well, I'm going to put it out.
I'll put it outside and it'll get full sun.
Wonderful.
Let me go.
Where'd Frank go?
Hey, Frank.
He's around back.
Yeah, I got a box in the van.
I'll go get it.
Oh, okay.
There we are.
Lots of cleaning to do.
But I'm trying to build stuff and then I'll start breeding again.
I don't have a lot of room to do it.
I don't have a lot of stuff.
Side door.
Should be a box right there.
let me get it
that one's got
food in it oh okay
that'll work
lovely thank you
take care ah yeah well we're gonna
get it work on tomorrow we'll see
i can't talk too much just gotta go pack more stuff it says wednesday
is usually a bit busy
here comes frank here comes frank poor frank got a
bunch of pictures of your orchids bloom right now
You're
right.
Thank
you.
Thanks, Andre.
Have a great day. Good seeing you again.
I'm going to sit here and catch up on the text a little bit if I can.
Oh, no.
Press F5.
Do they
have any
autos?
No, I've not been able to get any.
I had some people looking for them yesterday and couldn't get them.
um Cichlid23 asking about other cichlids I
would thank you I got I got a little bit here
that's okay this will be fine give the man
a hug well he's not the hugging type
now his girlfriend on the other hand i hope he's watching i'll hug
her anytime she's a sweetheart
and she's supposed to be doing some uh here's
t-shirts i need to call her up and talk to her
about it that we can sell dear sir father fish
so lee lee is here sue and i are up late again
it's okay she has tomorrow off work well nice
to see you guys glad you're here
and patrick's laughing
oh she haven't fished frank said hi frank said
hi chevy fish you probably heard him let's see
how are we doing
timelines here we
got 22 in 14 15 come
on 15 right what else
what could make my
german blue ram suddenly act ill hiding
for no apparent reason other fish are fine water is
stable and fine. I'm worried. Who is this? Angie.
Rams have to have really warm water and they're
shy. They can,
they will hide from other bigger fish.
Hiding is not really so much a problem.
um you know they are the critical thing with rams
is is don't let it get below 82 you got to
treat them like discus they've got
to be warm fishroom fever's
here hi fishroom fever you got
a lot of people here and haven't been around
for a while nice to see you instagram patreon
and facebook who's doing all this cool stuff
chevy fish good girl thank you is he from
Maryland? No, it's Chevy.
No, no, it's
Chevrolet is what it is.
Jackie Benamama.
Hope your internet starts working properly.
Yeah, it's doing okay now,
I think. I got out from
under the metal roof. Frank
found some interesting
and darted. Now he's gone.
Right. Not while he's back
now, but you're right. He was
taking pictures of orchids.
Native wild orchids. Native wild
work. It's cool. Okay,
we did different behavior
than the night before.
Water's above 80 in
Arizona. His mate is normal.
Is it the male or the female that's doing this?
It would
be typical for a female.
Oh, we're doing, yeah, I don't want to, I don't want to hear
about that silliness. I'm into dying
on my feet rather than living on my knees, if you
get the reference
which the male doing it interesting he probably is being dominated
by something would be my guess um keep an eye
on what's going on it doesn't necessarily
need to be aggression it's a shy type fish
and he's gonna hide out from anything he thinks
will dominate them so well you can't really have
two male adult male rams together not in a small
tank anyway because they
um they'll fight one will completely dominate
the other oh sir father
let everyone know how you helped my tetras
in 12 hours or less uh lee sent me a a note he had
some fungus on a neon and i suggested it was just one
and it was a tiny speck so i suggested garlic
so he crushed up a garlic clove
and put it in and everybody ate the garlic they loved the garlic
and the next morning he was watching
and one of his bigger fish the molly i believe bumped up
against the tetra and the fungus fell off
and they've been fine since then so i now have accolades
from lee for telling him to put garlic at his tank
so i'm just glad it worked out doesn't always work
out rohan jay yeah i'm
finishing up a live
stream there there goes
the man gone back out to his
gone back out to his farm hey he's got
a friend i've known andre's
for 25 years it's been down
here that long see what
else do do do what time
is it yeah rohan it
is a great farm it just and
it's something that he has built to fit his needs
and his interests so it's you know just it it's
an expression
of andre's relationship
with fish just really kind
of remarkable says yeah i'm going
i'm gonna go back i think i'll go all the way back all
the way back see what i missed andreas
is amazing a mad scientist
of fish keepers oh
that's chris yeah absolutely
uh-huh checky bitty
mama oh dear she got a problem
with her betta's tail oh well
is that guy is there
so corey there
that's right that's right
who is that patrick somebody's getting
their office ready for a 55
it's Jew of Judah
Jdog 67, i think
i'm pretty well caught up
with everything
everybody saying hello
this is a this is a much
quieter stream than
we normally have
normally i'm a lot more animated
but part of the reason i'm not is because i just finished
sitting in traffic for an hour and fell asleep twice
so i'm kind of groggy and it was so boring
A tanker truck jackknifed on top of a bridge
at the busiest point south of Tampa at University Parkway,
separating Sarasota and Bradenton.
And it's three lanes of traffic solid through there,
and they had to take it completely off the highway.
So it slowed things down pretty miserably.
Fish are starting to come back in.
I'm getting a shipment tomorrow from Old World,
which is, let's see,
Aquarian Co-op's been there too.
They're in Homestead, Florida.
Two old men who have been raising fish for 50 years,
and they're sending me three different species
of shell dwellers
and some triple red cockatoos, I hope, plus a few other things.
we'll see i'll do an unboxing when they get here tomorrow
so we'll be able to see everything
let's see my ram spawn for me father
fish fish wizard wonderful
these are fish that uh that he
got a young man who who i've asked to help me with video
because he's just so he's so good at it
His channel is Fish Wizard.
I just changed it, and it's a great channel,
and he's a great kid, and has spawned his rams.
So I do have micro-worm culture.
If you need some, come in and pick it up.
That's a very good food to feed the baby rams.
Angie is saying it's a male and female.
He chased her around like mad over the new moon,
then settled down yesterday and now this.
in a tank with tetra's corys really have startled him last night,
may have startled him last night.
LFS is closed.
You know, they do go in cycles.
So if he was in cycle a week or two ago for a couple of weeks,
then it may simply
be that his testosterone level is down
and he's not going to be as dominant.
But it should come back.
Just feed him as much live food as you can.
If he's not beat up, he'll be fine, I'm sure.
Mary Page, should we feed garlic periodically?
I think it's a good idea.
I like garlic.
It certainly doesn't hurt anything.
It's a good antibacterial, particularly if you can get it in the gut,
because that's kind of important.
We lose a lot of fish from gut parasites and gut bacteria,
so it's a way to clear that up.
And it can also do things like control
or prevent dropsy and bladder problems.
So, yeah, once a month or so, some garlic is all to the good.
you can also mix it in with their food.
Liquid garlic is good, but just squeezing a clove
and mixing it in the food is the freshest, best way to do it.
Install Kim's Aquarium in the lobby.
Nope. The nursing home is saying, Lee,
that they don't want the aquarium in the lobby.
So I'm at a loss now.
We've got this pretty little aquarium for Kim.
I'll tell you what we're trying to do at this point
is get her moved out of that hellhole she's in.
She's in a prison and get her situated.
This is a woman who is a master leather worker.
She has worked for companies making leather shoes
and other leather clothing and still does that as a craftsman.
So I want to try to help her get something going on that will
allow her to support herself with her leather work.
So working on that.
Say Chevy Fest, stay hydrated. Who we talking
to keep some hard candy over here. Oh, yeah talking to me
Hydration is the difficulty. Here we go.
Yuck. Somebody put flavoring in it
Please please got it. It says view delete. I don't know what that is.
You want to drive? Yeah, I'll drive. Yeah, okay
Let me get out of here.
Yeah, we can go say goodbye
to the farm everybody.
There's
and Andre's up there we're
gonna get in here
and Frank's gonna
drive oh dear I
don't know what's
going on here I can't get this thing to advance come
on you don't have a charger in here do you what do
you yeah somewhere it's
down there I think take
care Andre well my um chat
button is frozen it's
not working stuck on here we go
they got hidden accidentally
oh dear i don't know if i can fix it
i may have to go i know
how to fix it remove
unhide you should
be back if he's back
throwing my phone
around unhide yes fish
and fever unhide i just
did should be okay
right oh Fisher and Beaver did it
or did i i probably did what
are we doing time wise
oh about 3 45 okay mercy what's
the problem there's a layer
of crushed lava rock
under a deep substrate beneficial
or unnecessary um it's
not i would say unnecessary it it is
beneficial to the extent that anything is beneficial uh
and if you're putting it
understand that you're really loading loading it with sand
which is creating maybe more um
saturation potential i don't know i would say it's
not a bad thing ain't necessarily a good thing
certainly not a bad
thing oh good rightly
behave i won't don't have
to do that again
Polyfish you deleted Lee Wilcox
by mistake oh dear well i think
he's back and he promises to be
good i've had four angle angle oh here we go okay
we're gonna have fun with this one who is this
john barrett hi farther fish
i've had four angle breading
in the last months and they have eaten
the young last year i had 500
young now with problem
any idea um i just got
an emergency alert there
it went away.
John, so your fish are eating the babies.
Well, you know, the simple way to do it
is to pull, you can pull the eggs out and hatch them.
You can pull the babies out after they've
hatched if they're not eating them right away.
If they're eating the eggs, then pull the eggs.
If they're eating the babies before they come up off the bottom,
then pull them as soon as they catch.
If they're eating them after they're free swimming,
then pull them after they start swimming.
So the solution to the problem
is to either take the parents out of the tank
or take as many babies as you can out of the tank
and raise them separately.
A couple little clues.
You know, I ought to do.
I really ought to do a video on breeding angels
because there are a bunch of little tricks that
just make it so easy. For example, if your fish
are eating the eggs, then you take the eggs out
once they're finished laying.
You want to make sure they're finished. That way everything gets
fertilized put them in a separate tank bare bottom tank
with an air stone or a sponge filter if
they're on a flat piece of slate or a flat rock
then you angle it so that the eggs are facing down
that way dirt is not going to settle on them
and at that level you really don't need to put
any kind of drug or chemical in there.
They will hatch in two days typically
and it will take another two days for them to start swimming.
Do not start to
feed until they're free swimming.
Once you start to feed it's critical to have
a sponge filter in with them. You can feed microworm. I will send a
micro worm culture to anyone
who needs it it's easy to do easy to keep and a perfect food for
baby fish so there we have it right take
um way faster towards honor all right now go left we
want to we want to go through sarasota we don't want
to get back on 75. no that way we can you're
right sure yeah that's fine sue says you have
a wicked laugh i said who said this who said that
lee oh lee's wife sue a wicked laugh i see i'll have
to work on it he deleted the link yeah but he
came back and now he's telling me i'm wicked
so i may have to boot him again he said you'd be good
and you're not being good frank is uh i put him behind
the driver's wheel so now i get to stop at
every ditch and puddle along
the way plus whatever else he sees he likes and he tends to like
everything he sees this is true
so it's a little tricky oh he was just letting somebody by oh you
going
to the creek oh well we're gonna
we're gonna right there all right
Craig's gonna go in the creek I guess we'll watch him it
is about what is
this Sue said no Lee said oh dear it's
a nice thing we are English it means
lovely wicked means lovely I'm glad we have
an interpreter we just got
that morning here bringing them to yeah I'm just
who is that J dog is in
Brighton I'm bright
at University Parkway best commercial substrate whatever has
the most nutrients
in it don't get nutrient free substrate if you're gonna
spend the money get something worthwhile frankly
a bag of enriched potting soil
is probably the best thing you can use cap it
with sand and Floros is here and
who's this John is saying great channel here
from the UK we've got a bunch of UK
folks today see you
know I'm gonna get
out we'll watch what
you're doing okay
you did everything yeah that's fine let's go
Hi, Father Fish. Got my order. Oh, Dwight, the tank is all set up now.
Thanks again. Great. I hope it all came out well.
That's good. Dan Flores. Greetings from Sydney.
Hello, Dan, from Sydney. Early morning.
So we've got people listening,
watching in Australia and in Great Britain.
And I know there's some Dutch persons among us, so Holland as well.
We had somebody from South Africa last week
and somebody else from an African country,
Nairobi, I believe.
John Barrett says, let Sir Father Fish know that wicked means cool.
I knew that. I knew that.
one late night viewer from Lithuania
oh how nice a late night viewer
from Lithuania john's tanks
are over 30 centigrade what's that in fahrenheit i don't want
to know where i can get a female
midnight bettas you want a black female i don't think i've ever seen
a black female betta good
luck with that one where do you go to find good
autos oh well kirk we just have common autos
here for two to three bucks each add some ice don't you dare
no uh 90 degrees fair do not add
ice let it go down naturally and normally i once killed off
an entire tank of fish by putting ice
in when it got up to 100 degrees
because the heater whacked out if i had to let it come down
slowly they probably well might have survived pat says it's 86
that's not too high
it's really not a problem 86 is a perfectly
acceptable temperature for nearly all tropicals
they can handle it not to worry
let's see let's go let's go see
what Frank is up to here he's in
the ditch i'm gonna
turn the camera
around what's he
doing somebody else
is watching
him down down
here in the hole there he is back there there he
is getting anything oh cool we can use shrimp
somebody said there's
an otter in there oh look
at the daisies how pretty
there's frank dipping
shrimp he is john put a small fan near it
and as the fan blow over the top of the water it will
cool down safely perfect john perfect soggy pit says yes
the fan is a great way to cool the tank
and if you have it blowing right on the top
on the water surface it'll do a good job i like that do
we have florida flagfish you betcha
and do they actually go to town on algae like they claim yeah
they do it's a really good fish
and i've got we're getting a pretty good collection of native
