Genocide Convention Advisory Opinion (Reservations to Treaties)

In this international law case, the International Court of Justice confirmed that countries are entitled to enter reservations slightly modifying the effect of multilateral treaties on that country - but only if the reservation does not completely undermine the purpose of the treaty. Each reservation must be considered on its own merits.
