To my child,

Read this letter when you are grown.

My life was filled with bitterness, disappointment, suffering, and despair. I walked through some of the darkest years a person could ever endure. In the end, it was only kindness that carried me through and kept me alive.

Human willpower alone is never enough. Only faith in truth can break the chains that bind the soul.

Human love alone is never enough. Only the compassion that embraces all living things can become the greatest light of all.

May the light of goodness always stay beside you.

May you never fall, even in the darkest days of your life.

And when your journey is complete, I will be waiting for you beyond the gates of Heaven.
