The Crownless King — Story

For many years, there was a king who ruled his kingdom with kindness and justice. Under his reign, the world was filled with light, and people lived with honesty and compassion. The land was peaceful, and the kingdom became known as a holy place.

But over time, things began to change.

The light of the world slowly faded. Darkness grew stronger at the borders of the kingdom. In the cold winds, evil forces began to stir and laugh. More and more people lost their kindness. They became selfish, tempted by desire and fear. The sacred spirit of the land weakened, and the kingdom slowly moved toward decline.

Seeing this, the king did not blame his people. Instead, he felt responsible.

One night, in a quiet and sacred place, the king knelt and prayed. He called out to God, whom he saw as his Father.

He said:
“I am willing to give up my crown. I am willing to leave behind my throne, my power, and my name. I accept suffering, hardship, and loneliness. I will walk through frozen lands and live as an ordinary man. I ask for nothing for myself. Please save my kingdom. Please save this world.”

After his prayer, a voice answered him from above.

The voice was calm and warm. It did not condemn him. Instead, it comforted him.

It said:
“The flame of this world has grown weak. The light that once protected your kingdom is fading. It cannot be restored by power or by a throne. A new flame must be found.”

The voice continued:
“If you are willing, leave your crown behind. Walk the world as a pilgrim. Endure the trials that lie ahead. Only through this journey can the new light be found.”

The king accepted without hesitation.

The next day, he left his throne. He removed his crown and placed it behind him. He no longer called himself a king. He put on an old knight’s cloak and took up his sword, not as a ruler, but as a traveler.

He began a long journey across distant lands, through cold and darkness, searching for the new flame that could bring light back to his kingdom.

And far away, in the fading kingdom, the people waited.

They guarded what remained of the world, holding on to hope, believing that one day, their king would return—with the light.

==================

Crownless Before the Father
[Verse 1]
For ages long I wore the crown,
And kept the golden cities bright,
I ruled with mercy, not renown,
And held my people in the light.
But now the stars grow pale and thin,
The sacred rivers fade to grey,
The hearts of men are stained by sin,
And holy songs have slipped away.

[Verse 2]
Beyond the gates where cold winds cry,
The demons laugh beneath the snow,
Their shadows climb the frozen sky,
Their whispers teach the weak to bow.
My kingdom once was pure and fair,
A garden blessed by Heaven’s flame,
Now I kneel in royal prayer,
And call upon my Father’s name.

[Pre-Chorus]
Pater sancte, hear my plea,
Lux aeterna, shine on me.
Take my throne, my gold, my sword,
Save my world, almighty Lord.

[Chorus]
I give my crown, I give my name,
I give my glory to the flame.
Let me walk through ice and stone,
Let me suffer all alone.
If one small soul may pay the cost,
To bring back light to all we lost,
Then Father, let Thy will be done,
Save my kingdom, spare Thy son.

[Verse 3]
I ask no praise, no palace high,
No feast, no banner in the sky.
Send me where the winter lies,
Where nameless roads and sorrow rise.
Let me be poor, let me be small,
A pilgrim lost beneath the rain,
But let not my beloved fall,
Nor drown in darkness, pride, and pain.

[Bridge — Divine Voice]
Then from above, a voice came near,
Not loud as storms, but warm and clear:
“My child, arise, do not despair,
I heard the weight within your prayer.
The crown you leave shall not be vain,
The tears you shed shall turn to rain.
Go forth in faith, through night and scar,
For light is born beneath the star.”

[Latin Choir]
Gloria, gloria, in excelsis Deo,
Sanctus, sanctus, where the cold winds blow.
Agnus Dei, guard the road unknown,
Lux mundi, guide the king alone.

[Final Chorus]
I leave my crown, I leave my throne,
I take the road of frost and bone.
In this old cloak, with sword grown dim,
I walk the world in search of Him.
If Heaven grants one spark to me,
I’ll bear it home across the sea.
O Father, let Thy light be found,
And make my fallen kingdom sound.

[Outro]
No crown of gold, no palace bright,
Only the stars, the snow, the night.
Amen, amen, lux tua veni,
Amen, amen, salva regnum meum.
