We Booked The CHEAPEST Room At Hawaii's Most Famous Hotel | Worth It?

Yo, look at this airport. It's frickin' open air. Gorgeous day. This is nice. And it feels amazing. It's about 80 degrees, and there's a very nice breeze. What is up, Travel Squad? We are back at it again. Back at it again. This is an exciting one. We are back in Hawaii, baby. We are on Oahu. New island for us. We went to Maui last time. As you guys may know, we recently got married, and we've been having a very hard time deciding what exactly we wanted to do for our honeymoon. So far, we did the luxury cruise feel with MSC Yacht Club, and now we're trying the traditional Hawaii resort. I feel like this is what everyone thinks of when it's just like honeymoon. Waikiki beach, drinks, flower in your hair, and just like the White Lotus vibes, I guess. Since the 1960s, almost every sitting president has stayed at the resort, but yet most people haven't heard of it. For this one, we're testing out the resort, the island, and some exciting things to do on your honeymoon. To see if all of that hype about Hawaii honeymoons is actually worth the hype, or if it's just really good marketing. Aloha. Got the bags, and let's head to the car. And as usual, I overpacked. And my husband is getting us a car. Let's get this show on the road. Look at all those mountains. Oh my gosh. Definitely not in Florida anymore. It definitely looks different than Maui so far. Yeah. We were talking to someone about it, and they said it's like a more Miami vibe. We haven't experienced it yet, but I can definitely see it. This traffic is giving Miami. Four to six days later. Right on Kealohulu Avenue. All right, we have entered Beverly Hills. It feels like that. It's like driving. I know we said it's Miami, but it feels more like LA, honestly. And we have arrived at the Kohala. Look how pretty. Wow. Laura, open air. It feels so nice in here. It's like cool in here. And the door's just like wide open. Wow, this is our first Hawaii resort. It's really pretty. You know what it feels like with the music playing right now? It feels like forgetting Sarah Marshall when he went to go check into the hotel at Toro Bay. I thought you were gonna say the White Lotus. We got our room tags. Really nice check-in process so far. Go. Oh, yes. Thank you. I guess I technically just got laid. Finally got laid in Hawaii. Yes. I didn't get laid last time. I thought we did. No, we got laid at the Luau. Oh, okay. Well, second time getting laid in Hawaii. Holy crap. We just walked out of the elevator. Oh my gosh. Look at this view. I have like butterflies in my stomach right now. Yo. Yes. Laura, look at this. Are you kidding me? Look at that. I may have done that. Happy honeymoon, my love. This is gorgeous. Oh my God. Happy honeymoon. It's not a balcony because it's like a little thing, but what is this life? We booked a mountain view and they upgraded us. I think we told them we're on our honeymoon. I don't know why it really made me emotional walking in here. The photos do not do this place justice online. To be honest, this was not our first hotel pick. No, this is my hotel pick. Well, okay, yes, but it was the most affordable option while still being luxurious. I can't believe I get to spend the next week here with you, of course. Did you do this? Yeah. So you did this, this, and that? I think that's extra because I only did strawberries and champagne. We got strawberries over here, some champagne, and then we had some more champagne. We're gonna show you guys, do a little room tour later, but I think we're gonna go explore this. I mean, I kind of want to stay in the room right now, but I think we're gonna go explore the resort and see what it has and takes. I've seen stuff online, but this isn't what I pictured, so I know it's gonna look different. You have to eat a strawberry first, though. We have to lady in the trumpet. Oh, I was gonna eat it all for you. We'll do that later off the camera, but now we can. Can I pour champagne in your belly button? I can take it off? You know what, sure. We're in Hawaii. So these are the strawberries. You can get a side. I think I'm gonna stick to my own strawberry. This must be your first honeymoon. It's my second of the year. I see they have a lot of jewelry stores here. We're gonna keep on moving, keep on walking. And then we're going back tomorrow, and the next day. And the next day, and the next day, and the next day. I just want to show off a lot of the celebrity walls. It goes all the way down. You do have like Bill Clinton, Rachel Hunter, Luther Vandross, Elizabeth Taylor, the Obamas over here. Oh look, Tom Selleck, Mufasa and Darth Vader himself, James Earl Jones, Adam Sandler, and then the king himself, Michael Jackson. It's just so many different faces that have been to this resort. I love how this is just like open air. Oh, what? Dolphin Lagoon, I think. God, they have dolphins here. They have actual dolphins. I honestly want to know if it's like architecture design or something like that, where it's constantly fresh air breeze coming in, because it's not hot, not sticky. Like it was in Jamaica, where it's like the open air concept. I am curious though how it would be in like June, July, because we're here in April. That is very true. Not a real big golfer, but I definitely will play on this course. You want to go play golf one day? I know you're not really into it. I'll play golf here. You're going to see a lot, you're going to hear a lot of wows from me in this video. They have a little birdcage, rotunda thing, freaking waterfall going over here. When I think about Hawaii and like resorts, this is kind of what I mean. Yeah, this feels very like traditional Hawaii. And then I think over here is where the, oh yeah, look, there's a dolphin. There's a whole dolphin right there in the water next to the trainer. I want to jump in. I wonder how many dolphins they got. I'm never leaving. Oh, so it's a dolphin quest. My mom actually used to work for dolphin quest. I had my birthday party. I don't remember which birthday party it was. Mom in the comments, let me know. I think it might've been my ninth or my 10th birthday, but we had one at dolphin quest and we did something like this. Laura's infatuated with the dolphin. I feel like a little kid right now. This is a cool feature I've never seen at a resort ever. That was the cutest ever. Hi, beautiful. Look how big that dolphin is. I think there's another one in here too. My goodness, I want to rub your belly. Did we pick the right resort? Yes. Here comes the other one, just swimming on through. Here he comes. Hi. I can see us coming down here late at night. Not late at night, but in the evenings and just watching the dolphins. I don't think I could ever get sick of it. You can just rent, not one of those rooms, but one of these rooms over here that have the dolphin view. I don't know if I necessarily want to do the paid thing, but I do want to ask how much it is, because I'm curious and what it entails. No pun intended. And then right by the dolphin is the resort pool. I didn't even notice that. There's so much water for me. And then of course we have to check out the beach. Laura's in heaven. It's like water world for her. This is crazy. Like, do you see this? This is exactly what I think Hawaii looks like in the pictures. Palm trees, mountains in the distance. Yes, please. You want to do some like sunset walks on the beach and stuff? Yes, actually, I do. The beach seems like it's kind of secluded, but it's a public beach, so anyone could come here. But the way they have it set up, it seems like it's just for the resort. Yeah, we're definitely going to go swimming here. You're just in awe. I have nothing else to say. Happy honeymoon. This little plateau peninsula thing area is really nice. It is throwing me off that we're in Hawaii and the water's brown, but at the same time, you can't beat this view. Like, come on. And the breeze is blowing, so it's not too hot. Yeah, you can't beat this. Look at this. We're just here on a random Wednesday. I love this little pathway out here. You can go all the way to the end. It's like make out point over here. Hey, Mrs. Fane? Yeah. Please don't fall in over here. I feel like a little kid that just got caught. Hawaii's such a magical place, and we haven't even done anything. We've just been looking at the resort. You know what would make this even better? What? A first drink of the day and a proper meal, because we haven't really eaten. I'm down. We ended up finding an inside bar. Crazy thing about this is, it only has four seats. This is like the night store restaurant on site that's harder to get reservations for, but because it just opened, there are seats at the bar. Look at Laura getting all creative over here. She said one was tart and one was sweet, and I got the tart one. And then here is mine. Looks delicious. This looks so good. Hi, I'm Laura, and this is my first drink of the day. Oh, that's delicious. And my name is Fane, and this is my first drink of the day. It has a little kick on it, but you need to try this. So we found out this bowl is actually pineapple rum-infused sorbet, and it's made locally. 10 seconds later. So I have to say, my drink was pretty good. Are you down that? So that one won World's Best Mai Tai. 100% then, yeah, World's Best. You gotta catch up now. What are you doing over here? I like to drink with Laura. Stop, I'm savoring it. It's already day one, and we're getting directions to different places and restaurants to try. This is awesome. You can do all the research and go on TikTok that you want, but you gotta get it from people that live here and know what's actually good. Talibah Joe's is further out, but it's a super pretty place. I mean, people get married there. That looks really good. The Black Diamond's got black salt. It tastes like salt. Cool. Maybe it's volcanic salt. Oh, that's tequila. Thank you. That's good. Cheers. It is like a skinny margarita. That's perfect. That's alcohol, but I love it. Honestly, though, we heard that on Maui, well, when we were in Maui, we heard about the 7-Elevens, similar to Japan. I think we should go try a Wahoo 7-Elevens. They're supposed to be better here. I think we gotta test it out. At least get snacks. Get Wadish for the room. You know, the traditional. Yeah, appetizers. A little amuse-bouche. Right outside the lobby, they have a little seating area where you can actually pop a squat. You can either have a rocking chair or one of these chairs. You can literally have your coffee and watch the dolphins play in the water. I'm getting up at a normal human hour tomorrow. That is my motivation. But look at that. You can just see the dolphins play in the water or sunset on the beach. This is Hawaii, Hawaii. Yo, if you guys wanna experience this, hit your girl, Laura. Let's see if this one compares to the Japanese one because we've heard they're good, but we don't know how good. We know it won't, but the bartender gave us a recommendation and he said this is- His favorite. His favorite, so we know it's gonna be somewhat good. They have the turtle chips like they did in Korea. They have some Japanese snacks right here. Laura, they got peach soju over here. They have Chio Pops. Oh, no way. I haven't seen those in forever. And then they have all the ramens that you can ask for. Oh, they have the temboke like you have in Korea. Hot take, I don't like those. I like rice cakes, not this. Over here is where all of the stuff that we're looking for is. Look at that. That looks good. Ooh, this is what he talked about, the chicken katsu curry. Vienna microwave, I'll get that. Ooh, local breakfast scrambled bento. I don't see the fried rice like we do in Korea, but it's fine, we didn't expect that. One day. I'm not gonna lie, that cream donut looks really good, so I might get one of those. I wish this wasn't salmon. They have smoked ahi bites and then also ahi tuna spicy poke. These things are amazing. But the thing about it is these have to be Hawaii peelers, not the regular ones, because these ones are made in actually Hawaii and we've noticed a difference. Look at this one, they have fried rice and bacon. I feel like this could be up my aisle. Is that the lychee? From South Korea? This is my favorite drink in South Korea. I did not think I was gonna see this again for a very long time. They got the ice cups, so they have to, yeah, they have the drinks over here. You get your little iced coffees like you did in Korea. Where's the banana milk? Did you just find it? This is not the same container, but the picture is the same. It's the last one. We got the goods. I think we did a little bit too much. We overachieved, let's say that. Maybe a tad. We got a whole bunch of candies and snacks. I mean, you guys saw it, but. And we're going straight to dinner. I still don't understand, though, why you got a cup of ice, because we're just gonna melt. It just made me think of South Korea and I had to do it. Let's put all this stuff away and then get ready and head to dinner. One hour later. Time to go to dinner. Let's see how this turns out. It looks pretty good on the menu. I think we are going to be absolutely done after this, because it's pasta, we're already exhausted and jet lagged. And we still need to edit for the Saturday's video. Good luck. Ooh, let's try on some fresh focaccia. Laura's favorite, well, my favorite too, honestly. She said it's house-made. It is hot. This looks, oh. See the little drab of oil in the middle? Yeah. Okay, I'm going. Other than being a water baby, Laura is a bread baby. She loves the bread. At the same time, I'm a bread baby too. This is top tier focaccia. Whenever we go to an Italian restaurant, Laura always orders the caprese. This one is different. Would you like to do the ancho drizzling? I really, really would. Oh yeah. We're gonna need a bellhop to take us upstairs. It's funny because you don't like cherry tomatoes in salad, but yet you're gonna eat this. Yeah, but I like them cut up a little bit. Definitely tastes fresh. Hold on, sorry. I gotta try with the buffalo first. You're not gonna like it. I'll eat it all. Yeah, it's really good. It tastes really fresh. Especially the black cracked pepper and all that. Yeah. Yeah, we're gonna be out. Clean is so tired. I am actually like really tired. It's been a long day. A lot of filming. Laura over here ordered the flaming cheese wheel. You got a whole show going on over here. Oh, that feels so good. I wish she would look at me like that. Delicious. Oh my gosh. I ended up getting the spaghetti with some truffle. Thank you for your patience. No, thank you. Oh my gosh. More liquidy than I thought, but it tastes like the most like elegant, sophisticated mac and cheese that you've ever had. This might be some of the creamiest pasta I've ever had. Especially with the egg yolk mixed into it. Yours was pretty good. They're very different. I thought they were gonna taste the same, honestly. Mine has more of a sweet. And then mine's more savory. This just means we need to go to Italy. I guess. Go to Moffy Coast, get some lemon pasta. Oh my God. Look at this. This is what we got for honeymoon. Congratulations, something small. Yeah, I think he knew that we were very full. And so this is honestly like the perfect little amount. We didn't request this. They just brought it out. Very, very romantic. I think Laura's struggling over here. I can't breathe. So far, this resort has been really nice. Very chill, quiet. So far, so good. The verdict, I'm glad that we're here. I'm glad that we're spending the whole week here. I would say this is very much classic honeymoon vibes that you would imagine. It's always nice when it turns out how you think it will.
