We stayed at an $80 luxury 5-star hotel in Vietnam - was it worth it?! Silk Path Sapa hotel review

Hi, we're Jordana and Grant from Shot in the Dark Travel. Come join us on our epic adventures around Southeast Asia. We stayed for two nights at a five-star luxury hotel in Sapa, Vietnam. Find out what we thought and if this is the sort of place you would like to stay in Sapa. So we've left the hotel. So we're going to go to a five-star hotel, have a bit more luxury. It's going to rain today. So yeah, just going to have a day in the nice hotel. Maybe have a dip in the pool. Mainly work and relax. We're just at the church because this is the pickup point for like the free buggy. Good, how are you? I'm good. Are you checking in? Yes. Can I get your booking permission and your passport? Yeah. I really don't think we needed the buggy there, did we, Jordana? I don't think we did. It's like a one-minute walk. Wow. Wow, this is a very grand entrance, isn't it? So you can just see here, we are in our brand new hotel, which is a five-star hotel called Silk Path Grand Resort and Spa, I think. It's supposed to have like some of the best views. So this is why we kind of went for it. But today is pretty rainy. So as you could see when I showed you the balcony, it's pretty foggy. So tomorrow is supposed to be a clearer day. So hopefully we'll get some chance to sit out there and enjoy the views. But even with like the mist, it's like really, really nice. So we paid two million, was it? Yeah, two million dong per night. It's all very grand, done very, very nicely. Really beautiful hotel. We're going to have an explore, go for some lunch. We'll let you guys know what the food's like and see the rest of the hotel. The hotel spa is absolutely gorgeous and offers a wide range of treatments for affordable prices. So we're just in the hotel cafe, just having a quick bit of lunch. We've both really indulged whilst we've been in Vietnam. So we're trying to have a healthy, light lunch and then we can have a bit more of an indulgent tea or evening meal. So yeah, not like me to get a salad, but we're trying. As you can see, we're all washed and dressed. We've had a pretty relaxing day today, just getting on with work and editing. And as you can see, I took my braids out, I had a bath. I made Grant put some conditioner in his hair because it was really dry. But yeah, so we're just going to go and get some food in the hotel restaurant and see how nice it is. When I looked at the menu earlier, it's got a lot of choice. So we're probably going to have a star and anime and be a bit naughty and push the boat out. But it's quite reasonably priced to say it's a five-star hotel. Usually when you go to five-star hotels, the menu can be really, really expensive. But it's quite reasonably priced. So we're going to treat ourselves. Literally can't take him anywhere. Do you think that's acceptable? Why? I'm using my chopsticks. So we've just finished having our food at the hotel restaurant. It was pretty good. We're now back at the room. We're having a bit of a relax tonight and we are going to be watching Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power. I'm really into it, so I'm buzzing. This is why you need to take an Amazon Fire Stick with you when you're traveling. Whichever hotel room you're in, you just stick it in the TV and you can watch all your favorite shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. This is not an ad. We just absolutely love it. But Jeff Bezos, if you're watching, we'll do some ads. Let us know. Send an email. We are going to be watching it, which is really good. But Jordana has got an idea that I'm not quite into. I don't know why she's doing it. So we're going to sit and watch Rings of Power whilst pampering ourselves with a face mask. So Grant, do you want the anti-aging one or the aqua moisturizing one? So I'm going to say whenever we're out and we tell people our ages, they usually say to Jordana, Oh my God, you don't look that old. And then they turn to me and I say my age and they go, Ah, yeah. So maybe that means I need the anti-aging. What do you think? I think you could do with a bit of anti-aging. Cheers, love. Thank you. So that's it. I'm going anti-aging. You're such a diva. The girls like this sort of thing. Yes, they're really good. It's rejuvenating, Grant. It's going to really get rid of those wrinkles, honey. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a massive range of different foods suitable for all dietary requirements. The breakfasts include Vietnamese and Western food and hot and cold options and made to order pho and omelettes. We really enjoyed our time at the Silk Path Hotel in Sapa. The scenery was incredible, with the hotel having great views of Sapa's rugged landscapes and towering mountains. The entire hotel looked gorgeous and oozed luxury with its beautiful classical European architecture. Our room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and there was a wide range of tasty food. We would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you're visiting Sapa.
