http://www.VideoJoeKnows.com Here's some tips for you when you're removing grout "excess" from a tile grout "patch". Use "this" type of sponge for removing the grout excess from the tiles. Use "this" tool for cleaning up inside corners at the intersections of the tiles. Save some of "this" as you never know.....you might need "it". Blend in your grout at "these" locations. Removing grout excess from a tile grout patch is "not" the last step to your project.......but an important one.

This little sponge seems to be working out okay.
Now obviously, you can use a big sponge like this,
and I may use this when I get done
with the intricate spots with this small one
for a once over on the entire floor.
But I don't think I'm gonna use this just yet.
The small sponge seems to be working out fine.
Okay, now I'm gonna hit this on that inside corner.
You just keep dipping your sponge,
and just keep wiping it off.
Okay, we're just trying to get it off the floor.
And then you have to, don't forget about the wall too.
Okay, gotta get the wall.
If you wanna use the green side,
that could work just to kinda loosen it up.
Don't use the green, the scouring pad
on the actual grout joints.
We're just gonna use,
we're just gonna use that scouring right on the wall.
That kinda helps clean that off.
That worked out pretty good.
See?
Now, we can dip, and we can get it right in there
with the sponge side, the wall, the floor.
Let's see, I've got just a little bit
of an indentation there.
It kinda comes out a little further than I want,
so I'm gonna take my little screwdriver,
and I'm just gonna kinda dig some of that grout
out of there, just a bit,
so I don't have such a big little rise there.
Okay, that looks better.
So have your screwdriver ready.
If you need it, use it.
Okay, there, okay, I'm gonna continue up that.
You got the picture now, don't ya?
Here's a little tip for you.
When you clean up all your grout,
save some of your grout.
Don't throw it away just yet.
I got it all scraped up off to the side,
but some of these tiles had discolorations on them,
and I thought some of that was grout
that I needed to clean, and it wasn't,
so I took some of it off right in the inside corner there.
So if you have some of your old grout left,
you can just use it.
Once it gets wet, it goes right up in there again, okay?
Now it's fixed.
I don't have to mix up anymore.
Okay, I'll just let that set just a little
while I go and do something else,
and then come back and gently wipe that off.
Okay, so save your grout that you scraped up
for any of your patches.
Okay, here's the last little bit on the wall.
Gonna use the green pad again.
Scouring pad side of your sponge.
Just getting the outside edges.
I can rinse that off.
Now I'm just gonna kind of clean off the joints
a little bit like that, and that's tapering that back in,
washing off the excess,
and then cleaning those little bits off right there,
checking that out.
That looks nice.
Wipe that off with the sponge.
I'm gonna do the rest of that joint all the way up
just like that.
We're almost done with this.
It didn't take too long.
