Okay, you got to bear with me. This is a very small
Shower, it's only two and a half feet wide and four feet long. That's all the bigger this shower is
So if I have some tools out and stuff, I'm just gonna have to
Know that I'm in a cramped area. Okay, so
You see this
Area on the floor here. First thing I want to do is just scrape this out. This this is a
Grout that is kind of built up and come out around here and
Solidified all up in here. I'm not sure how this happened. We're gonna have to scrape it off
And
I've got an older
Putty knife here and it's not working too. Well
It's not very sharp. I want to scratch the tile or anything like that
I need to get this sharp. You got any ideas how I can get that sharp
I'm gonna show you right now
Here's a tip for the day
You've got a dull putty knife
Take it on a concrete sidewalk somewhere. It's not gonna show up anywhere
Rub it back and forth
Just like you're scraping something off. You'll put a nice
Sharp edge on it
This is an old sidewalk. So I'm not worrying about it. You don't want to do this on a new sidewalk
That's good, oh
It's pretty good how I sharpen that
Putty knife, huh? It's nice and sharp now
That's good
Works a lot better
When you sharpen that make sure you don't
Do it on your nice concrete sidewalk out front do it somewhere underneath the plant or underneath the deck
Somewhere where it's out of the way
You know those marks will come away after a while anyways, but okay, so
All right that turned out. Okay. I got all this stuff off the tops
now where these
Where these lines are where I scraped I want to just gouge that down and clean all that up
I'm gonna do that around all those areas
Just gonna take my putty knife
nothing special here and
Clean that and that goes right down to where the existing tile was and I was I
Was hoping it that top layer didn't really affect the bottom
of this tile
and
of the ground actually and
The grout still looks pretty good under there
I'm just going to carefully
Do this on these lines?
Okay, I'm not going to get any special tools out
Because like I say, I'm just patching this
And I want to make it look a lot better than it is now
But without putting too much time and effort in it. I
still
Want it to look good when I get done
But I can't spin it an arm and a leg
Time wise money wise and all that
You know if I if I wanted to do a better job than this I would
Gouge out all the grout and redo the entire thing, but
we're basically
patching the existing and
Trying to make everything look
Like it matches. Okay
All right. There you go
Okay. Now I'm gonna take my nail set
And I'm just gonna probe some different areas here and see if there's anything loose around the areas that are gone
Just gonna tap a little bit not much I
Want to get back to hard
Grout notice there it was kind of hollow when I first started and then it got a little
Sounded up nice and strong there
Okay, that's what I'm gonna do you just have to make sure you don't hit too hard
Obviously, we're just cleaning up the edges. We don't want to go down too far
And that's why you need a small
nail set
Because you don't want to damage the titles
Okay, this this one is really tight. I can't get in there. So that's gonna have to stay but I clean that up
Okay, that that feels tight, all right
That feels tight
Okay, all the other areas are tight
so
It's gonna take the screwdriver and clean off the edges
I can take my
putty knife and just
Check that over again
All right
Okay, that area
is ready
for some grout
But before I do that, I'm gonna check some other areas too
