The Easy Walk to Dolwyddelan Castle Hidden Waterfall

Hey team, so just left Betsey Coed and on the way back to our accommodation we pass a castle and it looks really cool. You can actually get into the keep. I think it's only open like weekends so it is closed now but it's on this hill. I don't know if you can see it just up ahead. We've just parked in a lay-by so I'll put all the details below in the description but it shouldn't be a far walk or it shouldn't be a long walk but yeah come with us. There's a waterfall as well so it should be quite cool. So there's our sign. We head straight through here. This is the castle Dolwedelen in my English accent. So I probably said it completely wrong. So walking up towards the castle these have just come running over to us. These little goats are so cute and they've bought the little lambo friends. Look these are obviously more confident than the lambs but they're so cute. The castle's up there on the hillside. Hello. Putting their little paws through. Spoofs. We've just left the goats and lambs and they're fuming now that we've not fed them. Probably expectant on being fed at this time of day. Probably just left them and probably just missed it now but just to the left. That is the castle and that is where we're heading. So it should be a pretty straightforward one this one and quite an easy walk I think. So we've just crossed this little bridge and when you get to the top of it you can hear the waterfall. So I think at that fort we need to go left but we're going to head up to the castle first and then on the way back down we'll show you the waterfall. Like I say quite close. We're already nearing the top now. So we're now at the bottom and this looks pretty cool. There's still some... looks like the door's still on. There's some window bars in. I think we can go up there and take a closer look. Also the views around here are amazing in every direction. It's not just a castle. It's also a cracking viewpoint. It is a really really cool building. So you've got the steps that you can climb up to and like I say at weekend, I think Friday, Saturday, Sunday and maybe every day in summer they open this bit so you can walk. Yeah you can walk around that bit which is pretty cool. And then there's other two bits which maybe would have been... looks like it would have been joined to it at some point. But the views are incredible. Sheep are doodling down there. Yeah it's just a really cool place. Obviously free entry. Free entry at the weekends to go into the fort so which is pretty cool. View from here. It's not a massive place to explore. We're just heading back down now leaving the castle and we're going to show you the waterfall. Well we're going to say it together because I've never been here. So like I say it's only a short walk up. Quite nice to stop off if you ever pass it on the A5. Yeah we didn't expect to spend a lot of time here but we have spent it here. We've really enjoyed it. Such a cool place. Let's hope the waterfalls is cool. We've turned down the track that we missed and this is the waterfall. It's pretty cool. Definitely worth coming to see. Heading back now to the car. Like I say it only took about 10-15 minutes to get up. We probably spent an hour there and then soon to get back. But I do hope you like this one. Like I say it was my first time checking it out as well. Really cool. Definitely would recommend it if you ever pass in.
