Mike Johnson is one of the most spineless politicians in America and the entire Republican
strategy right now feels like watching somebody smile confidently while driving straight towards
a wall. Because wait until you see the reveal in this story and what Mike Johnson had the
audacity to say. But first, you need to watch Mike Johnson try to escape defending Trump's
latest comment. I don't know the context in which he made that comment, but I can tell
you the president thinks about Americans financial situations. I talked to him on
average twice a day, sometimes three or four times a day, and we talk about it constantly.
He's laser focused on trying to resolve the conflict in Iran, because if we get the
Strait of Hormuz, when we get the Strait of Hormuz reopened, that will alleviate a lot
of pressure with gas prices and other things in the economy. The context? Everybody heard
the context. Trump literally said he doesn't think about Americans financial situations,
not even a little bit. That was the context. That right there is the modern Republican
party in one clip. But it's not the worst clip. Because now Republicans are stuck in
this impossible position where they have to defend things that normal people immediately
recognize sound insane. And every interview keeps turning into another political car crash.
Not good news and real families are feeling that and we're keenly aware of it, very sensitive to
it here in Congress. We put together all the pro growth policies in the big beautiful bill,
the working families tax cuts to allow the US economy to take off like a rocket. And we were
doing that prior to the conflict in Iran. So now we've got to settle that out. The Strait of Hormuz
is the big wildcard here. And as soon as we get that done, I agree with the president,
I think the prices come right back down to where they were. Remember that gas prices were at a
four year low before that began. And we're beginning to see incredible growth in the
economy. Other indicators are good. But you got to get the prices of groceries and gas down. And
we're working every day to make sure that happens. I truly can't stand this man. And that's nothing
compared to this last moment. But even Fox is spoon feeding Republicans opportunities to
reconnect with normal people. Do you hear them? But this is Mike Johnson's life now.
Imagine sitting in the passenger seat while somebody drives directly into a guardrail.
And your entire job is going on TV afterwards, pretending the guardrail came out of nowhere.
And the final clip is where this entire thing goes from embarrassing to infuriating to genuinely
revealing where Republicans are politically. You start to realize this isn't just about Trump
anymore at all. It's about a party becoming so obsessed with power that they're starting
to say things publicly that should probably stay in their strategy meetings. Louisiana,
you're very familiar with the Supreme Court rule that you can no longer gerrymander on
the basis of race. Therefore, immediate pause on your primaries and a redistricting map has
been drawn. How much easier is your job to keep the majority after that Supreme Court ruling?
It was a big thing. And the court came out rightfully and said we had an unconstitutional
map in Louisiana and by extension, these other states that had drawn lines based on race.
And they reaffirmed a very important principle. Nobody, no American citizen should be discriminated
against based on the color of their skin. And that's what that did. When you draw for one race,
you leave out the others and vice versa. So it's the right result. I think there may be a few other
states who also reevaluate what they have before the November election. Well, you know, there is
there's Tennessee, Alabama. I mean, how many more? Well, potentially South Carolina, Missouri,
Mississippi. There are other states who are similarly situated. And we think the analysis
is by the end of all this, when you when you correct all that, Republicans probably pick up
between seven and eight seats and maybe double digits, depending on how many seats get in the
states get involved. That's obviously a good thing for the outcome of the election. And it gives us
an even greater chance to win the House. I'm convinced we're going to defy history and keep
the majority here so we can keep all this going. It's still a voter. I think it's going to one of
the Democrats. They've redistricted for years and now we took our shot and it looks like we're
going to pick up a lot of seats. And that's a good thing. We want voters to have their choice.
We want fair voting. We want fair elections. The Democrats have been cheating on elections
for many years and all we're doing is winning. There it is. Mike Johnson is trying to spend
protections for people of color and representation as discrimination itself.
The Voting Rights Act exists specifically because people of color were discriminated against for
generations. That's literally why the law was created. But Mike Johnson tries to frame protections
against racial discrimination as racial discrimination, which is such an insane
level of revisionist history that people immediately started clowning him online for it.
They know the economic message is collapsing. Republicans are getting so deep into protecting
political power, they're starting to openly talk like voting protections themselves are somehow the
problem. And politically, that is an impossible lane to sell to the country long term because
the entire story is really about something bigger. Republicans increasingly sounding
completely disconnected from normal Americans. And every single time they try to clean up the mess,
they somehow make the car crash even worse.
