Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video critiques Speaker Mike Johnson for his perceived hypocrisy and lack of accountability. It highlights his failure to address misconduct allegations within the GOP, his inconsistent stance on military casualties under different administrations, and his role as a \"rubber stamp\" for Donald Trump, while also debating the legitimacy of proposed election reforms versus election denialism.
MAGA Republican Speaker and Trump kiss-ass Mike Johnson just wrapped up a disastrous
press conference in which he was finally, finally confronted on a number of important
issues which betray the Republican Party's hypocrisy, moral inferiority,
and their total indifference to the American troops who are being killed in Donald Trump's
war. But before we unpack all that, if you end up liking this video and you want to support the
channel, please be sure to hit the like, subscribe, and alert bells before you go.
All right, folks, we have several clips to play of Mike Johnson desperately,
desperately trying to spin Trump's narrative on a whole host of issues,
desperately trying to pretend that the Republican Party's in good shape for the upcoming midterms,
just basically trying to prop up the lie in every which way.
Any way he has to lie, Mike Johnson will do it despite professing to be a devout Christian.
Let's start with this. This was incredibly satisfying to hear Mike Johnson finally
being confronted on this particular issue because it's so viscerally terrible.
Thank you, Mr. Speaker. These past two weeks, Democrats dished ramp fire from their ballot
after sexual assault allegations. Two members of the conference, Max Miller and Ford Mills,
faced domestic violence allegations. Why would you Republicans keep them in the conference
whereas Democrats are dropping some of these incriminating sexual harassments?
Well, the key word there is allegation. We have a process here. The House Ethics Committee
works on those things. If allegations are made, they work through a process. So I'm
not in the business of commenting on investigations as they're in process, and we'll see how that
shakes out. That's how this always works. And by the way, it's done for R's and D's on both sides
of the aisle. Yes, ma'am. So that's an incredibly unsatisfying answer. You can hear and see how
uncomfortable he is. He's like, he's audibly choked. He has to clear his throat. He's desperate
to avoid answering this question. He can't even look the reporter in the eye. He's quick to look
away because this is the uncomfortable truth. These sorts of allegations are not the exclusive
province of the Republican Party. To be clear, the Democratic Party has and probably will always have
some form, some level of scumbag in it, right? It's a mass political movement and mass political
party. But the comparison is apt. When allegations were made, credible allegations made against Graham
Plattner, the entire Democratic Party rebelled, right? Not just establishment Democrats, but also
some of Plattner's, actually all of Plattner's, to my knowledge, all of his most fervent supporters
from the very beginning on the, quote unquote, far left, Hasan Piker, Emma Vigeland from the
Majority Report, Kyle Kalinsky, Crystal Ball, every person that I'm aware of who is on the left
and would be considered far left, who was a vocal supporter of Graham Plattner from the beginning,
they dropped him like a hot potato. Credible allegations against him. Meanwhile, you have
credible allegations and actually allegations that in many ways are even more substantiated
and corroborated than the ones made against Plattner. And these are two Republican lawmakers
who are seeking re-election who are in office as we speak. They're not merely candidates for office.
They're actually elected officials. Just to give you a snapshot of who they're talking about before
we move on to the other clips. As Mother Jones reports, assault, misogyny, verbal threats,
records detail new allegations against Representative Max Miller. Police reports
and filings in a bitter custody dispute raise new questions about the conduct of an Ohio Republican
as he campaigns for a third term. In mid-March, two detectives, an Ohio County Division of Children
and Family Services caseworker and a Cleveland Clinic physician met on Zoom to discuss how the
two-year-old daughter of a congressman and granddaughter of a U.S. senator wound up with
a broken collarbone. Quote, the bruising surrounding the clavicle fracture made the injury suspicious,
wrote one of the detectives who summarized the Zoom meeting. Further, someone on the call, quote,
advised the injury would have required a high degree of impact to occur. Neither the child's
father nor mother, conservative policy advisor Emily Moreno, admitted to knowing what caused their
daughter's injury or that it occurred while their daughter was under their care. Miller's primary
theory was that the bruising resembled marks from a seat belt. Moreno, who discovered the bruises
and took the child to the emergency room, suggested the cause may have been something more
sinister. Records of the investigation into potential child abuse show that Moreno told
detectives that Miller had previously thrown hot water at her, shoved her, held a gun to her head.
Therefore, she couldn't rule out that Miller had caused their child's fracture. Moreover, a child
protection specialist reviewing the incident had characterized the bruising near the fracture as
resembling, quote, a handprint. So that's just a snapshot, an overview of the ---- that Max Miller
is alleged to have done by his own wife, right? Or by, rather, the the mother of his child.
He's still in office. He's still a candidate for office. That's Max Miller. Then there's Corey
Mills. House of Representatives is on an ethics purge, and one of the potential castoffs is
Representative Corey Mills. Nancy Mace filed a resolution to expel Republican Mills, whom the
Ethics Committee is investigating for earlier allegations of financial and sexual misconduct.
Mills has denied the allegations. Quote, the swamp has protected Corey Mills for far too long,
and we are done letting it slide, Mace said in a statement, adding, quote, any member who votes to
keep him here is voting to protect a woman beater and a fraud. He needs to be expelled immediately.
Growing calls to remove Mills following the resignations of both former lawmakers Eric
Swalwell and Tony Gonzalez earlier this month, both of whom were hounded by sexual misconduct
allegations and were pressured by their House colleagues to leave office ahead of imminent
expulsion votes. So, credibly accused of sexual misconduct, he's credibly accused of being a
vicious, you know, predator, and he's still in office. And so, Mike Johnson and MAGA Republicans
want to hit the Democratic Party over Graham Platner, but they have no interest in policing
their own. None whatsoever. So, I'm glad somebody asked Mike Johnson the question, and he doesn't
have a damn good answer at all, because of course he doesn't. You can't have a good answer in this
respect. But there's also more. So, let's hear some other segments of this disastrous presser
with Mike Johnson.
Seguro, yes, sir.
The administration is working very hard. The Commander-in-Chief and the whole Department of
War are working very hard to bring this to a resolution. There's a lot of discussions about
how that will be done. We're all closely watching those developments, of course. I don't think an
AUMF is in order right now. I think we need to bring this to a resolution. Look, I think it's
important for all of our international partners, is my personal view, to have a role in this. I
mean, we've got all of our allied nations through NATO. We've got the Arab countries over there,
the Gulf states that are in closest proximity to Iran. Iran is now fired on all of its neighbors,
and they're turning everybody in the world into an enemy. And I think this is an important moment
of history for all of the world community to decide how they want to handle this. It shouldn't
just be America's obligation. My view is that everybody needs to play a role. So, we'll see
how that develops. I think we have to allow the space to do that. And I know that this administration
is working around the clock to resolve that in a way so they don't suffer any more troop losses.
This is a great tragedy. It shouldn't happen. But it is a very important, very important objective
that I believe we've achieved to ensure that the largest sponsor of terrorism does not have a
nuclear weapon. That would be a disaster for everybody, and everybody around the world
understands that. Now we've got to wrap it up. Yes. Okay. So, for those of you who didn't hear
the reporter, she pointed out this war has stretched on for five months. You say you
support it. And yet the death toll, the number of Americans killed in this war, 17, likely to be 18
once the remains that were recovered in the airbase in Jordan attacked by Iran, once those
remains are positively identified, the widespread reporting, including from Fox News, is that that
will be the third missing service member. That would bring the total to 18. 13 American service
members died during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. And the reporter points out the
death toll is now higher in Trump's war against Iran than the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
And implicitly what she's saying, you all, Mike Johnson, Steve Scalise, Lisa McClain, I think,
and then Malia Takis, a New York Republican standing behind her, they all had a lot to say
when 13 American service members were killed in an ISIS-K terrorist attack during the withdrawal
from Afghanistan on President Biden's watch. And they used it as a political cudgel against
President Biden relentlessly. Relentlessly. There was no grace. There was no, listen,
he's trying to end a war. And it's an incredibly important objective. And these noble service
members died for a good cause. The same ---- that they're saying right now about the even greater
number who are dying under Trump. Instead, it was like Joe Biden has blood on his hands. Joe Biden
got these soldiers killed, et cetera, and so forth. Therefore, Trump and the Republicans should
be held to the same standard. Except it's actually worse for Trump, not just because the body count
is higher, which makes it objectively worse, but also because Biden was trying to end a war, get
us out of a war that Trump also said he would get us out of, but didn't do, right? He just kicked
the can down the road for Biden to manage. Trump started this war. Trump started a war that got
American service members killed. These 18 American service members would be alive today but for
Donald Trump. So Trump is doubly, triply, quadruply to blame by MAGA's own standard when it comes to
dead service members. And yet Mike Johnson has nothing to say other than, well, I don't think
an authorization of use of military force, an AUMF, we don't need to exercise oversight or
our constitutional authority over the war making and war declaring powers. That's not what we have
to do. We have to be a cult that rubber stamps everything Donald Trump wants to do. And don't
forget, it's such an important goal. What's the goal? Making sure Iran has no nuclear weapon.
Well, Trump said he did that in Operation Midnight Hammer in 2025. Mr. Speaker, are you calling the
President Trump on this date, this date, this date, this date, this date, this date, this date,
this date in 2025 said he totally obliterated Iran's nuclear capability. So assuming the
President was telling the truth, Mr. Speaker, why did these service members die? They didn't die
last year. They died this year. They didn't die in the 12-day war. They died this year in the
new Iran war to accomplish what you say to accomplish a goal that was already accomplished.
So what was the real reason they died? Either the President was lying or there's a secret reason.
And you should share it with the American people. What is it, Mr. Speaker? That's how I wish
reporters would respond to this. But even some sort of confrontation, some sort of fact check,
some sort of adversarial question like these, this is good, exposing the moral hypocrisy and
moral inferiority of the Republican Party in terms of credible allegations. They were all too happy
to beat up the Democrats about Graham Plattner. Well, the Democrats dropped Graham Plattner when
the credible allegations were made. They were like, you know what, we can't do this, and they
dropped him, proving moral superiority over the Republican Party. So when are you going to police
your own? Furthermore, this question betrays the fact that the Republicans don't give a damn
about dead American service members. They don't. They want to use them as a political cudgel
against the Democrats. And otherwise, they don't care how high the body count gets
under a Republican president, typical Republican behavior.
One last clip, and this one pertains to Donald Trump's recent election speech.
This is probably the last time we're going to see the press conference for recess,
members going home, campaign ahead in elections, control of the House is up for grabs.
Last week, President Trump gave a speech relitigating the 2020 election and bringing
up the fraud. Can you think of any of the most vulnerable members if President Trump stopped
relitigating the 2020 election and moved on from that?
Well, I didn't hear him in that address say he wasn't relitigating the 2020 election. What he
did was, I got a couple notes here, but some of the things that he announced, 280,000 non-citizens
have been found to be on voter rolls in America. I mean, if that doesn't cry for the passage of the
Save America Act into law, I don't know what does. He announced that foreign adversaries
have compromised American election data and that our election system is vulnerable to threats.
I mean, that should concern every American citizen. This isn't about relitigating 2020.
This is about making sure that people have faith in our election system. If you do not have a free
and fair election, it's very difficult to maintain a constitutional republic, a government
of, by, and for the people. I mean, this is basic stuff. The president was highlighting that. Some
of the findings are alarming. I mean, a lot of the Democrats who ran around breathlessly for years
saying that Russia was intervening in our elections, you would think they'd be the first
to step up and say, yeah, let's go investigate this and clean up voter rolls. I mean, that is
part of our message on the campaign trails. We wanna make sure that the states, all the states,
including blue states, are doing their dead level best to ensure that federal law
is complied with. What is federal law? To vote in a US election, you have to be an American
citizen. That's a simple thing. It's not being enforced in some of these states,
and that's why Save America Act is so important. And we wanna make sure that we don't have deceased
persons on the voter roll. We wanna make sure that in states where they're doing ballot harvesting,
they're not just rounding these things up haphazardly, that the exact number of ballots
that are printed go to the exact number of voters who are registered in these districts,
and not extra persons. This is what makes people doubt the veracity of our elections.
No, what makes people doubt the veracity of our elections is when Donald Trump and you,
Mike Johnson, tried to steal elections, right? Remember, Mike Johnson rose to fame
in 2020 because he was the, quote unquote, one of the constitutional architects behind Trump's
efforts to steal the 2020 election, the various lawsuits that Trump tried and lost in 60 courts
around the country, even at the hands of conservative, even at the hands of Republican,
even at the hands of Trump-appointed judges. He was involved in the fake elector scheme as well
when Trump tried to send fraudulent electors to Washington, D.C. to prevent President Biden
from winning, and of course, it culminated in a violent January 6th insurrection.
Mike Johnson was involved in much of that, number one. Number two,
Donald Trump, all of his claims were bullshit in that speech, so he claims that China interfered
in the 2020 election. That is according to one dissident, one outlier intelligence agent,
when the consensus of the intelligence community said that China was not actively trying to
interfere in the election. The documents that Trump declassified and released revealed that
Russia was actively trying to meddle in the 2020 election, much more than China or Iran,
and that they were doing so to help Trump get elected. They were trying to hurt President
Biden, and they were working, quote, with U.S. officials and U.S. media figures to facilitate
widespread corruption, conspiracy theories against Joe and Hunter Biden, which is what happened.
So Trump's own documents disprove the claim. Trump's own documents show that foreign adversaries
tried to steal the election for Trump and the Republicans, and Biden won anyway. So it actually
disproves the claim, and of course, the idea that 250,000 non-citizens are registered to vote
has been debunked and fact-checked to hell and back. But even if it were true,
even if 250,000 non-citizens were on voter rolls, just exactly the way that Trump and the Republicans
claim, which is not true, but let's assume that it is, it still doesn't prove that these people
are actually voting, right? Because we have forensic, exhaustive investigations into federal
elections, and there are only like 0.00003%, like it's a fraction of a rounding error,
the number of non-citizens who have voted in federal elections over a span of 20 years. It's
like 26 instances in 20 years. So they have no evidence for their claims. They just want you to
believe that the only legitimate outcome to an election is if they win. If they lose, it was
rigged and stolen. In free and fair elections, only Republicans can win. We would have won.
I won California. I won New York. The vote was rigged in California, New York. Everybody voted
for me. No one voted against me. That's what these losers want you to believe.
And this is why, unfortunately, this country is on a bit of a death spiral at the moment,
because we live in a duopoly. We have two major political parties. And if even just one major
political party asserts and tries to get people to believe that the only way they can lose is if
the other side cheats and the only legitimate elections are the ones in which they win,
we are on a descent into total dissolution as a nation. We will become a true banana republic.
We're on that way there already because of Donald Trump, Mike Johnson, and the Republican Party.
So vote them all out. In the meantime, let me know what you think in the comments.
