Wait, obsessed with you.
We've never done this.
Every year, by the way.
No.
I see you walk in and I'm like, okay, I'm hot.
You know what?
Did not come to play.
Stop.
Thank you so much.
Is this a fully different dress?
Fully different dress.
Perfect.
I had to change.
You're perfect.
It was really too much for me.
Look at my feet.
No, I saw.
It's disgusting.
It's you and I love it.
No, you can say it's disgusting.
I'm jealous, actually.
I'm not.
I don't think it's disgusting at all.
Once you get in, you can take your shoes off with me and we can have no shoes.
Not now.
Right.
Not now.
Okay, wait.
How are you?
Hi.
Come in.
Hi.
And how are you?
This is Zach.
I'm good.
Have you guys met before?
Emma, Zach, Zach, Emma.
We haven't.
So nice to meet you.
God.
Tell me about the collaboration.
I want to know about the collaboration.
Who said what?
How did we get here?
Oh my God.
Well, the story of us getting here is actually really cute.
It's kind of cosmic in a way.
I've been thinking about Zach for a long time and wanting to work with him.
And I got a letter from him about the Met saying he wanted to come and do this with me.
So I felt like it was meant to be and I'm really happy to be here with him.
There's been so much attention to detail and it's been such a nice experience.
So I'm really happy.
When did you have this moment where you're like, I need to do this?
This is my canvas.
And how did you...
Tell me about writing this letter.
Okay.
Well, I wrote the letter.
I was just like, it's time.
Yeah.
It's time.
We both knew it.
Wow.
Seeing each other through parties, many years.
And I was like, I need to have that moment.
And I took a gap white t-shirt off my back in my studio after hours.
Stop.
And started draping it and trying to find like, you know, just the gap t-shirt, make
a gap studio, elevate it, twist it, turn it, and make it goddess-like.
I haven't even gotten to fully look.
Wow.
This is good.
So it's a t-shirt just stretched, torqued, twisted, brought to goddess-like territory.
The goddess of Nike.
The winged victory of Samafris and the draping.
In my experience, working in the Costume Institute became a deep understanding of the
importance of fashion as an expression, as part of history, and without question, fashion
is art.
I think this event in itself is like performance art.
I hope that everybody out there that watches this and sees all the hoopla and glamour,
just go to a museum and get lost, because it will change your life.
Amen.
Love that.
Amen.
God, are you inspired?
No, I have to say nothing.
Best date ever?
We also did a 3D scan of the body.
And then this is molded out of leather.
I worked with these artisans in New York that have a brand called Sext.
Give them a shout out.
Shout out.
And artisanal leather workers, I went to work in natural materials, and so we molded her
body in leather from a digital 3D scan.
So I also now have her mannequin in my office, which is just like...
Lucky!
So fun, I can...
Oh, lucky!
Where can I get one?
In the wind.
Yes.
And there might be a surprise when we get in with the dress.
We...
I can't wait.
I'm obsessed with it.
Bye!
I'll wait for you.
