獨家中華傳統母親花?《北堂的萱草花》“The Daylilies in the Northern Hall” #母親節快樂Happy Mother’s Day
“Wishing all mothers around the world a Happy Mother’s Day.”
“May has arrived, a special month—
because it brings an important day called Mother’s Day.”
“Why do we give carnations on Mother’s Day?
In the United States, there was a woman named Anna Jarvis.
She promoted Mother’s Day to honor her own mother,
and her mother’s favorite flower was the carnation.
That’s why carnations became the symbol of this special day.
Today, many countries celebrate Mother’s Day together on the second Sunday of May.”
“Did you know? Long ago in China,
there was already a special flower for mothers.
It’s called the 萱草—the ‘mother’s flower.’”
“Why the daylily?
It is a very common flower—you can see it in fields and by the roadside.
With its long, slender leaves,
it blooms in golden yellow or orange.
It looks warm and comforting,
making people feel at ease.
The daylily has a gentle and quiet beauty,
just like a mother,
always caring for us with a warm heart.”
**“There is something else very special about the daylily.
Each flower blooms for just one day and then fades away.
But don’t worry—
the next day, a new flower will bloom again.
Just like a mother’s love:
💛 It is there every day, just as warm.
💛 It never grows less, and it never runs out.”**
“A Little Fun Fact:
In ancient China, people planted 萱草 in a place at home called the ‘Northern Hall.’
This was where the mother lived.
So ‘Northern Hall’ became another way to say ‘mother.’
Because daylilies grew there, it was also called the ‘Daylily Hall,’
which also came to mean ‘mother.’”
