Finishing the Mystery Mine | On18 Thunderbird Mini Layout

It took longer than I expected, but the Mystery Mine is finally finished on the On18 Thunderbird mini layout! In this installment, I build the faux rock tunnel portals using floral foam, add a decorative mine head-frame inspired by Knott's Berry Farm, finish the main blacklight cavern scene, add a roof with realistic weathering, and finish the structure with signs and details. It's the biggest project yet on Thunderbird!
Thunderbird is a 1950's, roadside attraction themed mini layout that I'm working on in collaboration with Gary Beatty and other modeling friends and we hope to have the whole thing finished by the end of April, 2026.
