Click Show More for More! On January 2, 2015 we were brushing Fluffy Butt Oakley. She has longer fur then the other girls, and can get mattes in her rear fur. So we noticed a small "swirl" in her fur and assume it was a matte. We started to look closer, and try to brush it out, and realized it was not a Matte. It was a very hard lump, that I can describe as, about as round as an Oreo Cookie, and bout that thick too. Monday Jan 5th, I took her to our Veterinarian to see Dr. Ryan Knight. We were hoping at that point that it would be something simple. . and abcess, a small injury anything simple. Dr. Ryan took a needle biopsy of the spot, and looked at it under a microscope. What he found, he refered to as a Soft Tissue Scarcoma. He said the cells looked to be fast growing, and in clusters, and had dark spots which may, or may not be cancer, and it could not be confirmed by just the needle biopsy. He suggested we get the mass removed as soon as possible. As of this post, surgery is schduled for Friday Jan 9, 2015 (that's fast right?)
Right now we are playing the waiting game. We won't know much more until after the surgery and after the mass is sent out to be anayzed. In the mean time, we are trying to STAY POSITIVE and keep Oakley happy! She doesnt' seem to be in any pain at the moment and is still her fluffy furry self!

Hey! We get to talk about you today!
It's kind of gonna be a cheating vlog. I'm actually gonna upload this on the vlog channel and the dogs channel.
So, I'm gonna sit down here with you Oakley.
Here, before you move, I'm gonna show them your spot.
It's Oakley's spot. I don't know if she'll let me show you.
It's just a bump. The reason it looks red is because they shaved it when they did...
Oakley, would you stop licking my hand? No, you can't lick that either.
They shaved it when they did the needle biopsy. That's about how big it is.
That's your bump? That's your bump? Oh no! You got a bump?
I guess, I probably should give you the back story because I haven't done a video on this yet.
You probably have no idea what I'm talking about, unless you follow us on Instagram or Twitter or wherever.
Don't lick it! Don't lick it! You cannot lick it!
I'm gonna get you a cone! The cone of shame!
What are you doing cutie? I'll come sit down here on the floor with you girls.
How's that sound? How's that sound, huh? How's that sound, Oakley?
Ok! So, here's the back story.
So, last Friday, which I think was the second... Yeah! The second of January.
Jamie and I were in here and we were talking and we were looking at the dogs. Blah, blah, blah!
Oakley, when she lays down, she tends to always lay down on one side.
Very rarely, does she lay on the other side.
It causes these little swirlies in her fur.
Sometimes, you see her fur, instead of being black, it will look swirled and white.
Normally, what that means is that her fur has started to mat.
Cause as she lays for so long, it spins and it twists.
Since she has this beautiful long fur, unlike these girls who are a little bit shorter,
we thought she had a mat.
Cause her fur will like twist and it will get all matted.
Oh, you want me to scratch you?
Fine! I don't know!
Pawdience?
I know! Want me to scratch your butt?
You can kind of see here. Here's an example. That's her good leg.
Where it's like starting to twist and move.
Well, anyway...
So, anyway...
Her fur looked like it was starting to twist and form a mat.
So, we're like, oh great! We better brush it out before it gets bad.
Every time we notice them, we try to brush them out.
Cause mats can get really tight to the fur and can hurt.
So, anyway...
We sat down and we started to brush her.
We both realized that it was really hard.
I mean, mats when they get really tight, can get really hard.
They can get really hard to get out.
When we had to help Greg get mats out of his cat, it was really hard to do.
But, we both knew there was no way it could have gotten that bad without us noticing.
So, anyway... We tried to brush it out a little bit.
Brushed around it. Not tried to brush it out, but...
Tried to brush it. Made sure it wasn't a mat.
Realized it wasn't a mat.
And Monday, I took her to the walk in at our vet's office.
To go see her regular vet. She went and saw Dr. Knight, her regular vet.
When I walked in, I told him, I said,
You can tell me it's a mat. That would be awesome!
He said, Do you think it's a mat?
I'm like...
No, but it would be awesome if that's what you told me.
Long story short, it wasn't a mat.
Then we thought, maybe an abscess.
So, they decided to do a... Ouch!
A needle biopsy.
Where they take a needle and poke it and get stuff out.
To see what it is.
When he poked it, it wasn't fluid filled.
It feels hard on the outside.
The inside, I guess is the same way.
It's not fluid filled.
It's hard.
So, they did a biopsy.
The biopsy came back and said...
Basically, the needle biopsy...
He couldn't confirm 100% anything.
What he told me, he thinks it is a soft tissue sarcoma.
According to the cells and stuff, what he could see,
It looks like it's rapid growing.
So, it will get big faster.
Hey Oakley! Are you coming to cuddle by me?
How's it going?
Anyway, it looks like it will get big faster.
He wanted me to get her in for surgery as soon as I could.
To get it removed, so we can get it sent away.
So, we can find out what it is.
Friday, which you guys will be seeing this Thursday...
Don't lick it!
I'm gonna get you a cone of shame!
Friday, she's going in for surgery.
What did I just say?
What did I just... Hey! I just told you!
I know, you the compulsive licker, don't lick, right?
How's that gonna work? Is that gonna work? I don't know if it's gonna work.
So anyway, Friday morning we have to drop her off for surgery.
Hi Memphis!
They're going to remove the mass and they're going to send it...
Downstate, I guess, to University of Michigan or...
University of Michigan, I believe is where it goes.
They're going to send it down there and they're going to analyze it.
They're going to figure out what it is.
So, until all that happens...
There's really nothing we can do.
We can look at Memphis'es butt.
Dog!
What are you doing? Give me this!
So yeah, until then there's really nothing we can do.
Oakley doesn't seem to be in any pain.
She's still eating normally. She's still drinking normally.
Actually, she was running around out in the back.
Would you stop it?
Would you stop trying to push the camera out of my hand?
Would you stop it?
Anyway, she was out in the yard with the other girls earlier today.
They were running around and playing in the snow.
She was running and having a good time.
She's still got her appetite.
She's still eating real good.
Drinking lots of water.
That's all good. Those are all positive things.
Like I said...
It's not sad. Don't cry!
Don't cry! We're staying positive.

We don't know much more than that.
She's just not going to listen to me, is she?
We're just going to give you a cone of shame.

Oh! Big yawn!
Anyway, this video is way longer than I wanted it to be.
