Chapter 5 in the Art of Arrow Making Series is a step-by-step tutorial showing my methods of applying three different fletching styles to primitive wooden arrows.

Fletching serves one purpose - to steer the arrow by providing drag to the tail end. It doesn't really matter whether you use an 8-fletch or a 2-fletch, because it all boils down to total surface area. There's no exact formula, but a good mantra to follow is :

With more feathers, the smaller and shorter they can be; with less feathers, the longer and taller they must be.

Hopefully all you DIY archery lovers and woodcarvers out there find these how-tos useful. I'm sharing everything I know about arrows in this series to give people a one-stop playlist with several different ways of making them... (and so I don't have to make so many for other people, haha!)
