Memphis the Husky Needs Surgery

Well Guess what we're doing today guys. You're right. You make it don't fall off You're gonna lean that way and then you're gonna fall off into the bed of this. I do miss Memphis She's like guys Today sucks. Well, technically yesterday So you can see she's kind of favoring her leg. You can see the title of today's video Memphis has to have surgery. Hi Kira. No wrestling in here. This is the recovery room I was talking to Memphis. You guys are being so good and then you decided to do this. Hold on. I'm gonna get you out of here. Okay, I think everybody has their spot picked. Look at all the dog beds. So a couple weeks ago I put up a video talking to you guys about how Memphis had to go to the emergency vet and I never really updated you Afterwards I did on a community post but a lot of you may have missed it of what Actually happened because of that and what we found out Memphis ended up having an endoscopy done and they found out that she had a stomach ulcer So she's been on medications for stomach ulcer for about the past month or so. She's doing really good this Monday She's supposed to be going to have that rechecked. So anyway yesterday She decided to make things even more interesting. Didn't ya? She's like guys I just wanted to make things even more interesting than before So, I don't know if you saw in the beginning of the video Memphis was kind of favoring her rear left leg Yesterday we were all outside playing. All of us. We were all outside. These two dogs were digging This dog decided to go investigate the hole which you guys have seen her do many many times and then she got excited She started doing her little Memphis zoomies where she was kind of running around a little bit and she ran a little bit away From us. She was kind of behind the a-frame. We couldn't really see her. Jamie could see her, but I couldn't really see her and she Kind of let out a whimper and started limping and we weren't really sure why These two dogs were nowhere near her. So nobody bumped into her. We watched it back on our camera She didn't fall. She didn't slip. She was kind of just doing her little Memphisy prance and she hurt her leg So, of course we gave her about half an hour or 45 minutes because I don't know how many of you have dogs that have You know seen a dog kind of bump something or bend something funny Sometimes they'll limp for a little bit and then you kind of massage it out and they're like, okay It's not as bad as I thought and then they're fine Happens all the time like all the time that's happened with all of the dogs But this we ended up carrying her in the house. We massaged it a little bit We were trying to figure out where exactly she hurt We thought her foot was hurt because she really didn't want us to touch her foot At one point in time. We're like, maybe she had stung by a bee. Maybe she stepped on a bee or something So anyway, we gave it a little bit of time decided You know what? We're just gonna take her into the vet because it was Friday We knew that they were there called them up. They got her in within like 45 minutes So I didn't even have to do an emergency appointment, which was kind of nice got her in and They started checking her out started doing all the things and Sure enough. I can actually insert a little clip if you guys don't want to see it skip ahead a few seconds But I'll insert a little clip of what dr. Ryan found Good job silly girl So as you can see Her knee is moving like it's not supposed to He was pretty sure that she had a full ACL tear. So he did an x-ray and sure enough Miss Memphis at nine and a half years old Blew out her rear left knee. Did you blow out your knee? She's like guys. I'm just I'm okay like okay. She's on some medication right now So she's feeling she's feeling pretty good. Are you feeling pretty good? So anyway blew out her rear left leg left knee full ACL tear So Monday she was supposed to go in for her Endoscopy endoscopy, whatever you guys call it. You know what I'm talking about? She was gonna go in for that to get her ulcer recheck So as I was sitting there with dr. Ryan, which is actually the doctor that does her surgery and her endoscopes He said he could actually do the knee surgery on Monday as well so The plan is she's gonna go in on Monday They're gonna make sure that her ulcer is completely healed which hopefully it is we're paws crossed that it is and Then they're gonna do knee surgery and it's a six-week recovery She's gonna have limited mobility for six weeks So we've basically turned the office into the recovery room. What do you think of that? It's not so bad. I hang out in here Anyway, this was originally a futon that we had in here We actually just my husband took it apart put the mattress on the floor So it's like a big giant dog bed that we can sleep on and then we have some spirit hoods dogs dog beds We have another dog bed. We have another dog bed. We have more dog beds than we have dogs But we made it super comfy There's a TV in here and then a lot of the times I work from in here so she can hang out with me What do you think? Yeah, I know is it craziness It's craziness, huh? So yeah, it kind of just happened it happens happens in a lot of dogs Unfortunately, it's more common than you would think it's not something we've ever experienced But I have a lot of friends that have gone through it So I've been talking to a lot of people about what to do and where we go from here So she'll have surgery. She'll have a six-week recovery. I talked to some of you guys yesterday I didn't make any posts on it I wanted to wait until today to make a full post on it So I could kind of compose myself and figure out what was going on There will be some links down in the video description below there is new Memphis merch you guys haven't seen that yet There's fluffy land cloud merch of Miss Memphis is something I said in a vlog and you guys thought it was great So we made merch out of it I'll put that link down below and there will be a gofundme link down below as well Now that being said Memphis's surgery costs will be covered We're doing the gofundme because a lot of you guys have asked, you know, how can we help? So we thought we would start the gofundme and basically what will happen with that is some of the money will go back into the Dog's emergency vet fund that we have for them and then some of it We will pay it forward and we will help out some other animals in need In fact, one of my friends just found two ditch kittens the other day that are probably gonna need a little bit of help I'll put a picture of them up here So we're gonna kind of see what they need and maybe go forward and help them out a little bit as well Please do not feel like you have to donate to the gofundme watching the videos sharing the videos is More than enough help from you guys but anybody that feels like they want to just know Some of the money will go to the girls vet fund and some of the money We will pay it forward and help out some other animals in need because you know, everybody needs some help Sometimes you look so comfy right now Sprawled out on this big old bed. It's brought out on this big old bed So all of that being said we had Half a month or so of trips that we had planned and we kind of had to cancel all of them because she can't do anything for six weeks so life just got Interesting or boring. I don't know how you would want to say that We're kind of just gonna hang out with Memphis for the next six weeks and help her recover. What do you think of that? She's like, I'm good guys. I'm good. You're about ready for breakfast. She's okay She's she's being taken care of she's okay That is the most important thing right say that is the most important thing guys is that I'm I'm comfortable and I'm okay And I'm just taking up this entire giant bed, even though there's like, you know other and you're on the floor You just want to be as close to me as you can be There's all these dog beds in here and you're like mom. Why are you talking to that dog? I'm a I'm a fussy boy. You're talking and then of course miss Kira miss Kira has been Very concerned about Memphis right before I started filming She was snuggled up to her so hard and that's pretty much how she's been She'll snuggle her and then she goes and does her own thing and then she comes back and snuggles her So I have now rambled for way too long in a video.
