Want to build bigger shoulders and improve your physique? In this video, I break down exactly how to do the dumbbell lateral raise with proper form so you can grow your lateral delts, avoid shoulder pain, and maximize muscle hypertrophy.
The dumbbell lateral raise is one of the best shoulder exercises for targeting the side delts and creating that wide, capped shoulder look. But most people are doing lateral raises wrong, using too much weight, bad form, and turning it into a trap exercise instead of isolating the shoulders.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn: - Proper dumbbell lateral raise form step-by-step - Common lateral raise mistakes to avoid - How to target your side delts more effectively - Tips for better shoulder activation and muscle growth - How to prevent shoulder injuries during raises
If your goal is bigger shoulders, wider delts, and better upper body aesthetics, mastering the lateral raise is a must.

What's up guys, Coach Josh here from Kloss Fitness and today I'm going to show you how
to do the dumbbell lateral raise perfectly. So a lot of you are doing lateral raises like this,
you're actually losing a lot from the motion, you're not engaging your shoulder the best you
can. So let's show you how to do this perfectly. So first things first, feet are shoulder width,
you can have a little bit soft knees because we're actually going to drop our chest forward.
This is going to open up our scapula and allow us to get more of a shoulder contraction.
Next we're actually going to bring our dumbbells in front of us, not to our sides. This is a
pro-level way to do it. From here we're not going to envision lifting with our hands,
instead we're going to envision lifting with our elbows. So it's going to look like this,
we're going to come up until we get a full contraction, you can see I get a squeeze,
we're going to come down with control just in front of us before they touch, that's full extension,
come up with contraction, coming down. So once again I want to show you a visual.
Look at the screen right here, on the left side you can see me doing it incorrectly,
on the right side you can see me doing it correctly and you can see a massive difference
in how engaged my shoulder is. So it's really essential, drop the weight, squeeze your glute,
maximize for the contraction, follow these form cues and that's how you're going to get the most
out of this exercise. And if you want to learn other pro high-level ways to do exercises so you
can get more gains out of the same exercises just like the pro bodybuilders, I have a free form
guide I'm going to give to you totally free, over 80 exercises before afters as well as common
mistakes you want to avoid. I also have tips for this movement to make sure that you're doing it
absolutely correct so you don't forget anything. So you can go ahead and grab that first link down
below in the description, click that link I will send that right over to you. But thank you for
