Snowy Village Morning | Making Butter, Ash Soup & Fresh Bread ❄️

This morning we woke up to see the whole village covered in snow.

My mother milked the cows and made fresh yogurt. I poured the yogurt into a traditional butter churn and shook it until fresh butter separated from the yogurt.
While my sister cleaned the snow from the roof of our wooden hut, I fed the cows and sheep and brought fresh water from the spring.
After separating the butter from the buttermilk, we used the buttermilk to cook a warm traditional ash soup. Rice, eggs, chickpeas, and fresh garden herbs were slowly cooked together over a charcoal fire.
My mother also baked special carrot bread while my sister prepared tea.
In the end, we enjoyed a warm meal together with fresh bread, local butter, ash soup, milk, and yogurt.
