Tuning a Traditional Bow with the Fletched Arrow Tuning Method
Learn a simple and effective way to tune your traditional bow using the fletched shaft arrow tuning method. This quick traditional archery tuning technique is perfect if you already have several arrows with different spine ratings and want to see which ones shoot best out of your bow without cutting shafts or doing complicated adjustments.
In this video I walk through a practical method for traditional bow tuning, including how to test arrows at different distances and how arrow impact tells you whether your arrow spine is too stiff or too weak. If you shoot a recurve bow or longbow and want better arrow flight and tighter groups, this method can help you quickly dial things in.
Unlike more technical methods like bare shaft tuning or paper tuning, fletched shaft tuning is simple and fast. It is especially useful if you have multiple arrow sets such as 300 spine arrows, 400 spine arrows, and 500 spine arrows and want to test them without modifying them.
You will learn how to start tuning at 10 yards and work back to 15 and 20 yards while maintaining tight groups. I also explain how arrow impact changes depending on spine stiffness and what adjustments you can make to correct it.
