Hi sweet friends! It's Amy and welcome back. Now despite the little bit of snow flurries behind
me, I'm ready for spring. How about you? So I say let's do it. So today I'm super excited to kick
off my spring 2026 decorating series. As far as the series goes, I'll take you from room to room
as I redecorate and style the spaces for this spring. Today we'll be starting over in our
breakfast nook area. I like to start here because the room's a little bit smaller and I can get my
ideas flowing in a smaller space and then we'll carry that throughout the rest of our home. So if
you're excited to see how the room turns out and for the rest of the series, why don't you go ahead
and leave me a floral emoji or heart and if you haven't already, I'd love if you would consider
subscribing if you enjoy what you see today. So without further ado, let's go ahead and decorate
for spring here in our breakfast nook. I hope you enjoy. We're so blessed to have this breakfast
nook right off of our kitchen. It's where we eat most of our meals. A little later I'll share a
full spring tablescape idea. Tucked in this corner is our coffee bar with the floating shelves that
Scott made for me. So let's first start the spring decorating here on the shelves. I just love
refreshing them each season. Greenery always adds an instant freshness to the space. This faux
potted arrangement is one of my new spring finds from Target this year. To fill the space to the
right of the rattan vase, I pulled two options. The first piece has beautiful texture and aged patina
that pairs really well with that vase. The second option also has great texture with this hammered
finish. It's ceramic so it adds a subtle shine, but it may be just a little too tall for the spot.
So let's try and see what we think. In my opinion, I actually think the second one works better here,
but I'd love to know which one you prefer. Now moving on to the second shelf, I like layering in
small wall decor. This sweet sketched rabbit is from Walmart. I think I picked it up last year
and pieces like these just add so much charm and depth. I want to layer a couple of decorative
pieces on top of these book boxes, so I pulled a few options to choose from. The first are these
adorable gold bunny candlestick holders, and the second is this brown faux wooden duck. So let's
try them both and see which one feels right. The winner for me is the duck. I just feel that it
works best. It coordinates beautifully with a rattan basket and helps bring that warm tone
down to this shelf, which really helps balance the whole arrangement. To finish off the shelves,
I tucked in one sweet little detail, a bird and nest nestled right beneath the greenery.
I'm styling the mug rack with my favorite spring mugs. These have little bunnies and
eggs, and I was excited to find a matching fourth one this year to complete the set.
One of my favorite tips for working with faux florals is to first bend each little branch,
giving it a little bit more movement like you see in nature. That's even including the long
stem here. Once you give it a little bit of a twist and curve, just try not to make right angles
because you usually don't see that in nature, but I like to just take some time to touch every little
branch, twisting them as I go, and what you'll find is your arrangements are going to feel a
bit more realistic, and you won't have to use as many stems. So as you see, this is how I did this
one, and these came with a set of six. I shared them in a haul, which I will link down below for
you. They're from Amazon, but I just love the cute little delicate flowers, and I think they'll tie
in really nicely with what we already have going on in the upper shelves. Up next, I want to take a
quick break from the decorating and repair some of the holes from our nails in the walls, and I
wanted to show you how I quickly repair these. I use this dry deck spackling, and once it's dry,
I'll touch it up with our wall color, Stone Lion from Sherwin-Williams.
We'll lift our hands up and pray. Lay our love before him with all of our heart. He is the change within us. There is a light. Let him lead the way. Lift our hands up and pray.
Today, everyone needs somebody, needs someone who cares. If we come together, we'll be stronger.
We are bound in the name of the Lord. So let's come together. Celebrate each other. Stand united. Lift
our hands up and pray. Lay our love before him with all of our heart. He is the change within us. There is a light. Let him lead the way.
I love the look of this simple centerpiece paired with the individual place settings.
Topping each one with a little nest and eggs adds such a sweet spring touch without feeling too busy.
Perfect for a relaxed, casual meal.
This painting is one that I picked up last year from Hobby Lobby, and it holds a special place
in my heart. Not only do I think it's perfect for spring, but you may notice that little fox in the
lower left-hand corner. It reminds me so much of our sweet Shiba Inu, Moko. Sometimes this scene
just makes me think of her running free and happy, almost like a glimpse of her in heaven.
To frame it out, I'm adding these ribbed green candles to the sconces on either side.
They coordinate beautifully with the tones in the painting and really help to tie everything
together. All right, sweetie friends, that pretty much wraps up the kickoff to my spring 2026
decorating series here in our breakfast nook. I hope that you enjoyed it, you found it relaxing,
and maybe even just a bit helpful as well. If it did, I'd appreciate a big thumbs up,
maybe even a share over on your socials. That really does help me out. And if you're new and
like what you saw and haven't already, I'd love if you would consider subscribing. Well, as always,
I'd love to end our time together by going to God's word. So today I'll be reading from Isaiah
chapter 58, verse 11. The Lord will guide you always. He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched
land. He will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring
whose waters never fail. Well, I thank you all so much for watching. I hope you have a fabulous
rest of your week, and I hope to see you back for the rest of my series.
But until then, take care and God bless, friends. Bye!
